Is it worth trying to sell second hand clothes and shoes on the internet?

Mrs Mac, 31 August, 2009 at 21:15 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

I have a lot of shoes and clothes that are practically brand new that I need to get rid off. My friend suggested selling them on ebay as her friend does it and makes a lot of money.

Is it worth the hassle of taking pictures of everything, listing them all and then if you do sell all the posting and packaging?

Or should I send the whole lot to the charity shop?

I sold a load of stuff for a friend, a lot of it was designer clothes and it was probably worth around £300 in total but I only managed to get £50. I was selling things like a mans Jeff Banks suit, in good nick and it went for £5. It was alot of effort for not much money.

Hmm doesnt really sound like its worth it. My stuff is definitely not designer all high street.

Were you trying to sell on ebay?

I am thinking charity shop or alternatively putting bundles of clothes and the shoes on Freecycle.

Yeah I was selling on Ebay. In the end I just started to list everythng for 99p so that I wasn't being charged for listing if it din't sell. Even then I didn't manage to shift everything. I just put the rest in a charity bag to be collected

I've found that designer dresses sell and I got a good amount back from my maternity clothes but regular clothes don't sell particularly well.
