Is now a good time to Panic?!

Redkezza, 4 August, 2009 at 13:29 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi All

I am not on here very often (and have a bad lurking habit) which I will try an improve from now on, but felt the need to share!

We get married on 30th May next year and things are going really well with the planning, venue, dress, Photographer, flowers, Cake, Dj & honeymoon are all sorted already,so I should feel very calm and in control, which normally I do. I am also one of those irritiating B2B who's H2B loves getting involved! And then last night it hit me....My first wedding nightmare. The groom was late cos he was in the pub, when he did turn up I was at the front giving my vows and he was at the back chatting up some random Auntie (no idea who's!) when it go to the "Do you..." stage, he looks me up and down and said, actually no, and walked out with the Auntie! ?

I was crying so hard that H2B had to woke me up. He now thinks I am slightly insane as I kept saying "I can't plan for that" ?

Now I know it was just a dream, I've had all morning to get a grip after all! Is this normal, wedding nightmares this early? I am not stressed about any part of the wedding at all....yet...I guess that will come next year?

Sorry for the rant, and no need to reply, just feeling a little odd today!

Oh yeah, I've had plenty of dreams already. Mainly where it gets to the evening do and I realise nothing is how I've planned!

It's probably only happened because you've been thinking about the wedding earlier in the day. Unless you have concerns about your h2b and your auntie?! ?. I'd suggest his getting involved means he's as excited about it as you are though so you have nothing to worry about.

I'm the 15th May next year and I've already had a few wedding dreams. One where the OH buggers off after the meal and gets really pissed with his mates. I then storm up to him and throw some cake in his face and my best mate squirts eye drops in the best mans eye ?. Another where I realise on the morning we have forgotten to send invites and I am screaming at my mum.

    I wouldn't worry!

LOL! Thanks Both, nice to see I am not alone at the random nightmare table.

RaeF - I don't think there is anything I should be concerned about with H2B and my Aunties, especially as he hasn't met them and I didn't recognise her anyway!

Maybe my dream was warning me to beware of Fern Britton lookalikes in large pastel blue hats....hmmm Maybe not!?

    Hi

Just had to intrude as I had my first one of these at the weekend!!! I dreamt I got to the church and h2b was purple (all his skin, like the girl on charlie and the chocolate factory that turns into a blueberry...) and he turned to me and said, sorry I can't marry you so I'm going to be the best man and I've got you a replacement but I cant tell you who it is cos it's a surprise!!!! ?

Told h2b about it the next morning and he thought it was the funniest thing ever, that was after he stopped beig cross at me for waking him up to tell the story?

The only 2 I remember were about chair covers of all things, one they weren't on and I didn't notice until very late andthe other along those lines too. Weird because chair covers are probably at the bottom of my priorities/concerns!

FWIW, we vendors get similar dreams regarding weddings. I have lost count of the times I have had "dreams" like these....
