Is this Naff or nice?

Violet1, 3 December, 2008 at 14:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I'm downright *** at buying presents. I hate buying for other people. This year I have no idea or anything. I've been doing shopping now for 3 days and this I cannot find anything <Silent scream>

Anyhow I've come across this and I'm wondering if it's a naff present or something most single 28yr old women would like to get. I won't be offended if you all think it's ***. Personally I do but then I'm not buying it for me lol

Thanks Vx

? aww it's sweet. But, if she is a foodie, I bet she'd prefer nice non-gimmicky kitchen equipment.

    If she's not a foodie, I bet she'll think 'WTF, she's bought me a frying pan' ?

I wouldn't think it was naff or nice, probably just think "er, why" and stick it at the back of the cupboard until the next time I clear out and it would go to the charity shop.

Precisely what I was going to say.

If you're budget is a tenner, just get her a decent bottle of wine.

Not keen on that for a single woman. Might be a nice gimmicky thing for a couple.

What sort of stuff is she into (hobbies, tv programmes, books?) and maybe someone here can offer some suggestions.

To me, it looks like a tacky valentine's morning thing, sorry.

Is she a foodie? What about a nice cookbook?

Perhaps https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10051_138212_100_48148__category_ with a note saying you are looking forward to coming to dinner. ?

Good decision not to go with it. Incidentally, any recommendations for foodie type gifts up to around £30?

Does it have to be a gadget type present? What kind of stuff does she like? Maybe we can help you come up with something else for her?

The heart thing doesn't appeal, but the fact that my eggs wouldn't run into the bacon does ? I thought you were going to show one of those whirly forks for spagetti!

I've had one of those, it was absolutely pap, the bottom is shaped and i actually wasn't able to cook eggs in it on a gas hob. it would probably work on my range but alas it got "lost" in the move

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but I do too. I'd always cook eggs in it. ?
