is this unusual?

donnyette, 21 October, 2013 at 19:50 Posted on Planning 0 9

Just been thinking about table plans. Would it be strange for me and my OH to be sat at our own table at the head of the room? Our wedding package only lets us have 40 guests for the ceremony and WB which upsets me a little aand our budget really wont allow us to add more. Although we have gone up to 80/90 for reception.

Having only 40 would mean only around 6 tables of 6. Has anyone heard of bride and groom having their own table? X x

    It's not unusual.

    I think it's called a sweetheart table.

There have been other brides on here who've done the same I think.

It wouldn't be weird at all.

They're called sweetheart tables and I love them! We're having one at our own wedding, I think they're such a lovely idea. You actually get to spend some time alone together too which is a bonus in my eyes!

The full wedding attached in my signature had a sweetheart table if you want a look at how they did theirs

We're having 45 for our ceremony and WB and will have a top table although it will be just us and our parents. Then there'll be 5 tables of 8 (one of 7) for the rest of our guests. the sweetheart table sounds lovely though!

It's not unusual, do whatever you both want.
We're only having 20/25 for meals and we're having a U shaped table with just a few at one end so not really a top table, but a lot of people do the table for just you both..can't remember what it's called haha, but yes it's definitely heard of Smiley smile

One of my friends did this and it was really sweet, like a romantic table for 2! They did it because their parents on both sides are divorced but whatever the reason it worked well!

Definitely not unusual and a lovely idea. We're considering it but like everything else we can't make a decision.

I think we are gonna go for it. My parents are in the middle of a bad separation and I dont think my dad will even come to the wedding or give me away as he hates my OH. fellas mom also doesnt like me so might be a good idea to be sat on our own.

Think there is going to be an inevitable punch upnat my wedding lol
