It was-My first year without....

Kjay, 1 December, 2012 at 01:30 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 27

An advent calender! Normally ma or his ma provide us with one each but not this year Smiley sad !

Who has one? what kind have you got? I might have to get one for myself, they might be reduced soon, can't beat a bit of cheap chocolate!

Spoke to soon- we have come back from the mother in law to be tonight with one of these bad boys each- the first one was a mini raindeer!

I have a refillable one for my son, the little pockets hold more than a tiny choc. I have put Cadbury bars and chocolate coins in.

I've got one! A couple of years ago OH's mum made us a fabric refillable one and filled it for us. Since then we've taken to filling it for each other Smiley laugh although I think I put too much thought into it!! I've since also bought similar ones for my nieces and love filling it up each year.

I'm just about to find out what OH has put in number one this year....so excited that it's a little sad!

I have had a Hello Kitty one for the last few years, but I declined my Mums offer to buy me one this year.

My kids end up eating all my treats anyway ?

Us too! we decided not to bother this year, we only ever end up eating more chocolate or skipping days because we forget about them so we're just not bothering this year.

Nope I don't have one. Don't think I did last year either. I don't really get into the Christmas spirit for a couple of weeks yet.

    I don't have one either.

I think I have for the last couple of years because OHs parents picked them up for us, but before that i'd not had one for years. I'm not all that big on chocolate ☹️

If anywhere did a savoury one i'd be all over them- Christmas or not!

I was planning to pick up one of the fancy Thorntons ones for OH as they were on offer in Tesco. When I went back to get them the price had mysteriously disappeared. After a price check they'd gone up to £10 each! He's going without this year i'm afraid.

Why not just buy a bottle of booze and drink a bit every day?
    Oh, maybe that's same old...?

Because they're little drams/samples of posh gin! You couldn't afford to try all those different gins - it would cost £1000 I reckon. It would be a fab way of sampling gins/whiskies that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
