My tree is going up tonight!

I wanted a real tree, but I literally cannot wait that long, so putting our fake one up instead!

Well... I have a penguin throw.... I don't think we'll do much decorating this year. We've agreed as there will be no presents to put underneath we won't have a tree, and I don't have much else in the way of Christmas decs, so will just look the same as normal! I think the kitten ate the fairy lights too or i'd put them up...

Me B and I are poorly sick and all we managed was to rearrange the front room. Hopefully will be doing decorations soon though. I quote fancy a real tree this year but no idea how long they last?

I did dress up H in a festive romper though ?

OH finally has a day off tomorrow which he hasn't had for ages and we are doing our Xmas bits!! Decorations in the morn and shopping to follow... Can't wait!

Bea, our real tree always lasts 4 weeks. I think it depends on the variety you get and how well watered it is.

We have a Norway Spruce this year which has the best smell but drops more than other varieties (you cant have it both ways I guess)the firs generally drop less.

Just make sure you score/saw the bottom of the trunk before you put it in water as this helps it absorb water keeping it fresher for longer.

Also don't put a real tree in front of a radiator that's going to be on. FIL made that mistake one year and the tree barely lasted a week!

You would hate my house then! I have got tinsel all over the banister, photos, mirrors etc. And of course a load of them ceiling things.

Our offering this year! The bear is my sons, it reads 'twas the night before Christmas' and very annoying in the hands of a toddler! Can't wait until we move and can have a real tree!

I still put the decs on the ceiling, and also love the tinsil around photo frames and on fireplace etc even though i don't use it on the tree
The more festive the better, loving everyones pics! Watched The Grinch and Muppet Xmas Carol so far today, polar express to go and then it's a wonderful life later!

Wow Loving everyone's decorations. We're lagging behind a bit - we've put the tree up tonight but haven't finished decorating it yet - it's taken ages just to get all the decorations down and put the tree together. We still have ceiling decorations. I love them. Where Christmas is concerned - the tackier the better in my opinion!

SO jealous of some of your trees!!! I bought an angel last year in the January sales that I just fell in love with and she was half price so a really good deal, and I bought a new bigger tree this year especially...think she's maybe still a bit big for it!! No space for a bigger tree though ☹️
