I've found a new way to keep my weight loss on track

Vintage84, 20 April, 2012 at 14:41 Posted on Planning 0 9

This might sound really odd but I thought I'd share it anyway.

Before I eat anything I shouldn't (mainly chocolate), I visualise having to rub it over my beautiful wedding dress...this puts me off enough to stop me from eating it!

Anyone else got any slightly off the wall tips for keeping me on the straight and narrow food wise?

LOL? I love it! What a great idea. I don't have food tips, but when I'm at the gym and I start to flag I picture myself getting ready and putting on my wedding dress and that usually spurs me on a bit. It is definitely the best incentive to get fitter.

Haha good idea, nothing that off the wall but before I eat anything "naughty" I try to roughly calculate how long I'd need to run to burn it off then decide if it's worth it.

Someone in my work decided to introduce cake Friday ? so think I'm going to have to start walking home rather than get the train.

I have a picture of a wedding dress (not mine) on my fridge to put me off eating anything I shouldn't. I also think about my dress when I'm at the gym.

Good idea to picture yourself getting ready! I always hate seein gmy wobbly bits in changing room mirrors, so imagining those wobbly bits in a wedding dress is enough to put me off!

Haven't done it recently and it sounds a bit odd, but last time I lost a lot of weight, I took a photograph of myself in my underwear before I started the weight loss and kept it on my laptop.

When I fancied something to eat which was naughty I used to look at it. When I lot a few pounds I look another photo in the same position and overlayed it so I could see the difference, printed it out and look at that instead. i kept doing this until I was trimmer and then the weight just stayed off as I was in an actiue routine...Obviously its a bit geeky and quite technical to make sure you are in the same place and the same angle/distance away etc but as long as when you overlay it you rezise the photo's so your head and height are the same, the rest should show in the right proportion.

I might try doing that again actually as it did make me think twice, and it did work! - For me anyway!

Haha!! This is so me! At the gym when I am running I try to visualise my dress and all the details etc to stop my thinking about how out of breath I am. I then imagine looking down at my tummy on my wedding day and seeing a flat stomach!
