January wedding?!?!

AloveD123, 12 March, 2012 at 11:55 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi all!

I am new to this so sorry if i've done something wrong, but I need a bit of advice...

Me and my OH have recently got engaged and are thinking 2014/2015 for our wedding, maybe 3rd Jan 2015? Or October 2014?

Has anyone ever been to a wedding in Jan? I'm worried everyone will still be getting over xmas/new years and have the January blues!

Advice please?!?!

I haven't but don't think there's anything wrong with a January wedding either. It will give everyone something to look forward to after Xmas and new year etc is over. X

    Hi,

I went to a wedding in January and it was lovely. I don't really like January because of the inevitable post christmas blues and being back at work but it was nice having something to look forward to.

The only problem I find with january is that people's budgets are really stretched after Christmas so guests find it difficult with regards to costs, travel, bar and present wise, if you think this will not be a problem then go for it Smiley smile

Not personal experience but i recall from other threads flowers are difficult to get this time of year as markets not open as frequently.

I was married in a January many many years ago and it was fab. Weather was good too. You need to ensure an early enougj ceremony to allow time for the photography in usable daylight.

This is more over the period between xmas and new year. January itself should be fine after the first few days of it.
