Jason Manford on Trolls and Gary Barlow

Mrs Mack, 14 August, 2012 at 15:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 18

I felt very emotional watching Gary Barlow singing at the closing ceremony the other night, and the words of the song took on a whole new meaning for me on his behalf. I thought he was very brave!

I seen this blog by Jason Manford and wondered if anyone fancied a read. Beware, it got me rather teary towards the end. I have had a look and don't think anyone else has posted about it today, apologies if I'm posting the same thing twice!

I read this last night. One of the most beautiful pieces of writing I have read from a comedian. I thought it was beautiful and so sad.

I saw similar comments on Twitter about Gary Barlow, that blog post sums up all thoughts and feelings on it perfectly. It's lovely, I love Jason Manford.

..And now I want to have a baby with him.

I liked this line too. I thought it was good how he dealt with the sensitivity of the subject yet still had a dig at those numpties in a slightly comedic manner. Great piece of writing. I love him so much more now haha

I would mention that the other blogs on his facebook page are rather hilarious if your bored at work this afternoon!

I cried when Gary Barlow started singing - the lyrics really hit home. I'm glad Jason Manford has stood up for him. If I wasn't at work, I'm sure I'd have cried at the blog too.

I read it yesterday, the day after I found out I was upduffed, and I cried my eyes out. I never imagined he could write something so beautiful.

Congraulations! Everyone is getting upduffed these days...

I'm extremely broody...but H is having none of it! Though admittedly I know it's not the right time because we can barely manage just now without another mouth to feed! Hurry up lottery win!!!

On Jason's blog I thought his words hit the nail on the head so to speak. I have now "liked" his FB page and he posts quite funny and intellectual stuff. He has been posting chapters from his autobiogrophy as well and there was a chapter about when his GF at 17 became pregnant and then miscarried, getting the male perspective of dealing with that kind of loss was interesting.
