    Same Panj!

They're fine for the younger generation or young at heart (!), with frilly socks a la my step daughter (who is 11) but I wouldn't think they were office appropriate. One of the girls at my office wore a flat black pair to work last week and even they made me raise an eyebrow.

When I was about 10 I had a sliver glittery pair that I loved and wore all the time. I used to go in the sea wearing them and everything. One day I lost one in the sea and by that time my Nan couldn't find a replacement pair the same colour anywhere. I was devestated.

Depends on your place of work and role I think. Lots of the young'uns in the cc are wearing them currently, don't see any harm in that?

    No.

A friend of mine who usually I look up to in the style department has them. She's 30. I'm amazed.

Am I right that you can dress in 'normal' clothes were you are Mini? We have a dress code that the council emails every 3 months or so.

They'd be fine in my office - the only things banned here are jeans and trainers. Not that I would ever wear them I hasten to add.

They'd be OK in the office my Mum is based at, but a big no no at my H's work.

I like jelly shoes, and have silver sparkly ones, the same style as the pic posted.

I'm 29, and I wear them. But then, I generally dress a lot like a child...

This. I think if you work as a clown it is more than acceptable to wear them. I would love them to work at a fishmongers and wear them.

    Haha, sorry P.

I love my jelly shoes. I want some black ones, and hot pink ones too.

I loved them so so much when I was 10. I just don't think they would look right now, 19 years on!

Disclaimer: I could look at the photo forever though as it's a glittery pair and I am a magpie.

Our office dress code is office casual and a lot of the younger people in the office wear these, but generally only in plain colours, which I don't have an issue with for my team, but I don't think glittery ones would be acceptable other than on dress down days.

Yep, casual dress code, as long as it's not bikinis and hot pants anything goes.

if it was somewhere with a formal dress code they wouldn't be ok.

I feel that for the office, they must be full court shoes or mary-janes. I don't tolerate peep toes or sling backs even let alone jelly shoes. They definitely wouldn't go down well in my work environment. It's quite formal here though.

We have a casual dress code and judging by the lengths some people take it to I'd imagine they wear jelly shoes here (on the higher floors, where I don't go as they smell). I am not a fan of jelly shoes though and I am astounded at there come back.

I hate jelly shoes - almost as much as I hate Crocs.

I actually drove past a woman the other day who looked fabulous in a nice pencil skirt, funky vintage hair band and shirt. And then I looked to her feet and she was wearing Crocs! Crocs!!!

I actually really like them...but then I generally looks at kids clothes and wish I could get them in my size......

They wouldn't be acceptable at my work place, but then I guess everywhere is different. Where my H works they would be fine.

I have a flat black pair and wear them to work on casual Fridays. I have a general "I don't give a

fu*k what other people think of me" attitude though.

I actually wish our office was more formal - I often feel kind of scruffy and would like to wear more 'officey' tailored dresses etc. As it is that look would be a bit out of place here. Most of the staff are casual and much younger than me and they tend to push the dress code we do have to its limit (eg wearing black jeans and swearing they're not jeans!)

No it'd definitely be frowned upon here. Actually more than that, a word would definitely be had

My 16 year old sister has a pair, which is acceptable here.

I think that is a perfectly acceptable view point ! I have various pairs of jelly flip flops, I am currently working in India and am wearing these today, in black (we have a dress down day today although I do wear flip flops in the office at home, just not jelly ones)

Hahaha! This totally reminded me of my oversized purple shell suit jacket! I used to wear it everywhere and with everything, until my mum had an accident with the iron and the cool setting. Devastated!!

I was still wearing it well in to secondary school. I think she did it on purpose to stop any potential bullying Smiley winking god knows,.. I'd probably still be rocking it now! Urghh

The shoes are a definite no for me!

Jelly shoes are not appropriate footwear for any adult IMO. I had them first time around and I was traumatised when I saw that they'd come back out again!

I might make an exception if I saw people wearing them at a festival or in the sea but otherwise, just no!

What is it about them that people find so offensive? They are just shoes.

I couldn't wear them as a child - my feet are rather wide and wouldn't fit in the b*ggers!

These days I don't find them offensive, I just don't like them. As for whether suitable for work, if it's in a non-customer facing office I don't see a problem. not suitable for any customer facing role.
