Jewellery

I am an understated girl, one of my best mates is a statement girl, and the other is a bit of a tomboy and barely wears it at all.

Which camp do you fall into, and why?

I think I am understated. Though I do like longer earrings at times but usually even those are more understated than Pat Butcher.

I tend to wear either a bracelet or a necklace as feel like Mr T otherwise. Though on wedding wore a set of matching earrings, necklace and bracelet and it did feel strange to me.

I like to wear simple necklaces when I wear a necklace, usually with a very small pendant.

I'm understated/minimal too.I usually wear my tiffany heart (it's resting at the moment for the wedding day as its the first piece of jewellery the fella bought me), if I wear earrings I only wear small studs & my ER. Because I'm short & what nice people would describe as voluptuous, I just don't think statement jewellery suits me. X

I love jewellery that you'd usually buy for kids. I have an impressive collection of Hello Kitty jewellery.

Why? I love HK, and like bold, statement pieces.

Statement I guess. I wear a necklace, big hoop earrings, a couple of bracelets, a chunky watch and at least five rings every day (including my ER and WR). And sometimes more depending on outfit/occasion. This is actually toned down for me as at one time I wore bracelets halfway up each arm and a ring on every finger. I have liked a lot of jewellery for my whole adult life, and I feel naked without it.

Definitely understated. I like small delicate jewellery, and never wear dangly earrings. Small hoops occasionally, but generally just studs. I wear the same necklace everyday which is just a plain gold chain with a medal that has my birth initials and birthdate engraved on it that my nan gave me when I was small and also my nan's engagement ring which will go back on my finger as soon as it fits again!!

i have a chamilia bracelet that I always wear and a garnet ring that my mum bought me after my divorce when I was very depressed. She said I told her my hands felt bare - I don't remember this but I love my ring. Then I always wear my wedding and engagement rings and that's it really.

I do have a couple of bits of "going out" jewellery but nothing really statement ?

Definitely understated. A lot of the time I forget to even wear my ER & WR if I've been showering or cleaning. And I always take them off in the gym so they don't scratch on the weights. I'm getting better though, I have a ring holder on my bedside table now which prompts me to put them on.

Aside from that I may wear some tiny studs or a small necklace but even then I feel overdressed.

Its silly because I love jewellery and am forever buying new little bits and bobs.

During the day generally understated. Wedding, engagement and eternity rings get worn daily along with my watch which is quite chunky and generally stud earrings.

Going out wise it depends on what I'm wearing. I do like big earrings or a big necklace.

I go for the 'accessories department threw up on me' style of dress. I don't wear earrings thiugh, mainly as my stretchers get in the way.

I am obsessed with watches, but don't have any big crazy ones. (Just a lot of them!) I always wear my wr and er, and a white gold and diamond ring that I had for my 18th on my right hand, although I now have a couple of swarovski rings that I sometimes replace it with if I'm going out. I wear bracelets at the weekend (don't want to get crap in them at work, I wear a cheap watch there too just in case) and I always wear a necklace, but its always a chain and pendant. I've been useless at wearing earrings recently, meaning every time I put them in it hurt, so I bought myself a couple of cheap silver pairs last week that I can leave in all the time, then replace with pretty ones for going out.

Funny you should say that BJ *sniggers* when I split up with my ex I found it so weird not wearing a ring anymore, so the ring I normally wear on my middle finger on my right hand was swapped to my left, and my nanna bought me a sapphire and diamond ring to wear on the other hand. That now sits in my jewellery box, its not far removed from my er! Might give it to my niece or daughter if I ever have one of either :-)

Actually here's a pic I instagrammed a while ago of some of my stuff on my dressing table. This isn't all of it.

ETA: damnit, not showing up. Oh well.

I am understated. At work because of the rules l typically wear just WR and a cheap watch. At home and out socially then it's typically WR, ER, bracelet and watch.

Thanks! They are vintage. I have some lovely little glass bird dishes with stud earrings and pendants in them, which aren't visible in that pic. Also a thing on the wall with bracelets and long necklaces on it. I really have tried to pare down recently, got rid of a load of cheap plasticky stuff, but it's so hard.

I'm from the you can't over accessorise camp. Not only do I have a cupboard full of jewellery and some more pieces in other places, I also have two boxes of scarves/pashminas, 7 pairs of gloves, 13 watches, a collection of umbrellas and an entire wardrobe of shoes and bags ( well a bit more actually, there's a shelf above full of boxes too). I LOVE accessories. I did have a massive clearout last year so I now have room to add more?. This winter I discovered a hat shape that suits me, I only have two so far but will add more colours next winter.

I'm firmly in the middle! I wear the same things everyday but they're a bit too blingy to be called understated. Pandora bracelet (almost full) on one arm, big diamond edged Michael Kors watch on the other. ER on one hand, pandora ring saying 'love' on the other. Matching 'love' necklace, and little diamond earrings.

I have a big drawer full of statement pieces, particularly spiky necklaces and ear stretchers but I'm usually just so set in my routine I stick the usual stuff on- it's rare I branch out these days.

I'd say I sit somewhere between statement and understated: I like things that are a bit quirky, but not I wouldn't neccessarily describe them all as blingy. If my outfit is bold or striking, then my jewellery will be quite muted, but if the outfit is simple I'll dress it up with something with a bit more sparkle.

My only every day items are my ER and WR and my watch, so my earrings, necklace and bracelet varies from day to day. I don't always wear all three, and would usually only have one 'statement' piece at a time - eg If my necklace is showy, my earrings will be subtle.

Depends on the occasion and my mood. Most days I'm understated but for a night out I'll often wear a big statement necklace. I used to have LOADS of necklaces but threw a lot of them out as a lot of them were only cheap and had tarnished. I used to have a necklace tree thing but they tarnished quite badly on that so now I have a huge jewellery box and keep them in that. Seems to help.

Really minimal here. I'm not allowed jewellery at work, and I've never liked wearing stuff on my hands anyway. I wear my wedding ring, which is a plain band, all the time, and my ER when I'm not at work, but don't own any other rings.

Bracelets and necklaces are only for special occasions and most of them are fairly delicate small pieces rather than big costume ones. I don't have my ears pierced; I got clip-on earrings for my wedding but don't have any others.

Both - depends what I'm wearing - I like nice delicate necklaces with a single stone or I like big chunky hunky pull your hair out turn your neck green stuff.
