Jewellery help please (inc HIBs)

Bridget Gump, 29 April, 2009 at 20:11 Posted on Planning 0 12

As a general rule I don't do jewellery. In fact apart from one necklace which was a 21st birthday present, my ER and my watch I don't actually own any. I do feel I should wear some on the day but really don't want it to stand out, if that makes sense? Can anyone recommend what would go with my dress, including any tiara suggestions?

Here is my dress

    Hi Sarah-Kay

I can't see the detail on your dress properly but it looks like small pearls and seed beads, is that right or are they crystals?

How are you having your hair?

If you wanted to keep things simple then i've posted a few piccies from my site for inspiration. Maybe a small pearl or crystal drop pendant with matching earrings. This is one from my site but can be adapted any way you want (for instance with just crystals rather than pearls and crystals etc).

With regard to tiaras - again i'm not sure what you're after but I have a really beautiful headband type tiara in at the minute, it's actually my favourite, it's diamante but a really beautiful modern design and even though it's mega sparkly it's still quite understated.

Here's also a couple more tiaras/headband suggestions. I've also got a plain crystal handcrafted Swarovski headband that isn't on the site yet but will be shortly, it's very much like the celine headband which i;ve posted below but it's just crystals.

If you need anymore help please feel free to email me at *****@********.**.**.

Beautiful dress by the way ?

I would recommend the pearl station set https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/pearl_bridal_necklaces.htm with the filigree pearl tiara https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/bridal_wedding_tiaras.htm or the dainty swirl tiara https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/simple_bridal_prom_tiaras.htm

Beautiful dress, really flattering on you.

I would definitely go for something with a small drop to sit in the sweetheart neckline. Something like J10 http://www.the-jewel-factory.co.uk/necklaces.php or J23 http://www.the-jewel-factory.co.uk/necklaces3.php in crystals and pearls, I think that's what is on your dress

A tiara would depend on how you're having your hair but again something quite simple.

Email me at *****@*****************.**.** if you would like to discuss ideas further

    Mel

    Hi,

    Dress Envy Dress Envy! [:'(]

You don't need to have a necklace if you will feel uncomfortable but I think just a nice simple pearl and or crystal drop and would be lovely or a diamond solitare type necklace.

    Here are some ideas

    Or a shop bought design

How are you going to wear your hair as that makes a difference to the style of tiara I'd suggest?

I personally don't think you need a necklace, I would just go for a bracelet.

If you did go for a necklace I would go for something like this

These tiaras I have may be useful - this one is a one - off and can be converted back to a necklace after the big day, it comes with earrings too!

    or

These sit lower on the head

Hope this helps, feel free to email me if I can help.

    Lou

Thanks all. I'm saving all the links to your sites to my favourites.

My hair will be with this kind of curl but with a little but up to hold in veil and tiara like this

Earings are a no-go as I've never had my ears pierced, and unlikely to.

I can't remember if there are pearls on the detailing of the dress or not. I think it's crystals, it's all very silvery anyway and I'm not a big fan of pearls. What is a seed bead?

3d - I really like the first tiara, but how does it sit on the head, like a head band or a tiara?

TheJewelFactory - I love the diamonte daisy set - could/would that kind of this work?

PG - been having serious dess wobbles this week so thanks! I prefer the crystal to the pearl, but the size of the pearl.

Starstruck - I'm not sure about asymmetric tiara. I love the shape of the last necklace, not sure if the different flowers would look odd or if I should try and get closer to the leafy design on the dress?

babyw - Love the style and shape of the first tiara, but as per above re the flowers?

Thanks again everyone - most helpful so far!

I don't know, I've flashed it enough. I'm having real wobbles at the moment, wishing I'd gone for something a bit neater/smarter/satiny - can't think of the right word.

Good thinking on the necklace. I think the trouble I'm going to have is co-ordinating it all.

A seed bead is a tiny weeny bead and most dresses have them if they have other beading I believe. My dress has tiny pearly seeds on it with heaps of crystals.

Most of my work is bespoke so can create something different for you to what I have on my website however I'm kinda busy in 3 weeks...doing what I don't know ?...so can only give advice with orders instead of actually make the item up until end of June time.

This is my most popular design for sweetheart necklines because of the gentle point and it has been made in various heights so can be lower or heigher to suit and doesn't need to include the pearls. I can show you a mock up of the necklace using the crystals in the same size as the pearls. If you want to email me then I can send you some pictures.

This tiara is more delicate looking that others I have on my website and it lovely on especially with curls I think. Doesn't suit me because I have short straight hair but on customers with curls it has looked totally different.

Email me with any questions xx

    H. Samuels have a lovely selection of pendans if you wanted to go the highstreet direction or even to get some ideas of what you want.
