Jewellery help please ladies?

French-Fancy, 10 February, 2011 at 09:18 Posted on Planning 0 10

? Im usually on BT but just wondering if anyone can help please.

I have been given a beautiful gold charm from my H for my charm bracelet, but I need something to attach it with as it didnt come with anything. So I think I need a gold or gold plated jump ring (is that the right word?)

Anyone any ideas where I can get one?

TIA ?

If it is real gold I would take it to the jewellers he got it from and have it attached and soldered into place then there is no way it can loose. If you don't know where then some where like H samuels will do it. I always have gold ones soldered

I agree with Carol. I also wouldn't be keen to use a jump ring as they can easily open and if the charm is important/expensive then you don't want to risk losing it. I'd either use a split ring on it's own or combined with a trigger clasp but either way I'd use gold to match the charm i.e. 7k/24k gold not gold plated.

I agree with Lynsey and Carol - I'd be wanting to get the gold matched up and attached properly. If the charm got caught on something, it's possible that the jump ring could open if snagged. x

Its not from a local jewellers so I cant take it there, and h samuel were useless when I went in!!

I have no idea about split rings or trigger clasps Lyns, its double dutch to me!

Debbie has kindly offered to send me some rings so I will see what those are like although I obviously dont want to lose the charm so am a bit confused now!
