Jewellery HIB's/Anyone - what style jewellery & tiara should i wear?

cantwait2bMrsC, 17 March, 2009 at 16:34 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hi all, hoping you can help me with what style jewellery and tiara i should wear. I kind of had it in mind they would be silver & sparkly but having looked at my dress again i think gold / pearl colours would go better. What do you think? I'm not too keen on just plain pearls - maybe something that's pearls and a bit of sparkle? Or am i getting it completely wrong?! Also i cant find a tiara i like - i want something fairly simple / doesnt stand too high on my head. My hair will be in loose curls, some sort of half-up do and i have a veil scattered with clear rhinestones. I'd rather have stud earrings or only small drop rather than long dangly earrings too.

Any suggestions? HIB's, do you have anything that might be suitable?

My dress:

think pearls would be lovely, you could get some maybe with rhinestones to tie in with your veil? sure somebody more in the know about jewellery than me will be along soon with some better advice!

I'm no expert, but if it was me, I wouldn't wear a necklace as there's already lots going on around the neckline and I personally think it would detract from the flowers.

    Just my opinion!

    Hello

Yes, I'd go for a mixture too, but if I'm honest that's just my personal preference! Also I think your dress does appear in more of a gold highlight, but that could be the light, however I'd imagine silver would look just as nice.

Here is an alice band that is pearls & stones, just to show you how nice they work together: https://www.katievaledesigns.com/AliceBands/Beaded.html & this one too: https://www.katievaledesigns.com/Tiara/Double.html

There are also some images on my photobox which are not on my site: https://www.photobox.co.uk/album/28950430

Everything is hand made to order so all items can be made in any colour or style you want. And if you want any bits changed or varied at all, that's fine!

    Hello

There are lots of options but a mix of pearl and crystal would be lovely and I would stick to silver personally.

All of my designs are bespoke so if you haven't seen anything you like anywhere and you would like to consider having your accessories designed for you just drop me a line at ****@*********.**.** and I will be able to advise you better and come up some ideas for you.

    Hello!

I think I would agree that a necklace would just be waaaay to much with all those gorgeous roses at the necklace.

What I would suggest is a gorgeous pair of earrings with a nice drop in a creamy colour (or a smaller drop depending on how you have your hair) and then a sparkley pearl and crystal bracelet to match and set off your dress.

I'd also go with an alice band type tiara and maybe a couple of sparkly pealr and crystal hairpins depending how you do your hair.

If you were set on having a necklace, i'd go for something similar to sit at the base of the neck like my Mia Collarette.

if you would like sample of pearls to match your dress just drop me a line.

    Hi,

My website is www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk. I agree that a necklace would be too much as you don't want to detract from the detail of your dress in any way.

I'd like to be able to send you some samples of pearls to colour match to your dress exactly instead of guessing what shade is best. My own wedding dress is slighty gold and whilst I'm still wearing silver jewellery I felt ivory pearls were too pale and just not right with my dress.

For your earrings I could make you pearl studs or just little delicate drops like this design which has that touch of sparkle you are looking for.

You have loads of options for your tiara and I totally understand you not wanting to have much height as either did I.

All my designs can be adapted to suit or I can create a bespoke design. Here are some ideas that I have already made for customers.

Either a headband idea which has already been mentioned

    http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=tiaras&image=hairband.jpg

or a design to sweep across http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=tiaras&image=Amy%20tiara.jpg. This was made for Jellybaby on here and she loved it.

Or a more traditional tiara which doesn't need to be as high

    http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=tiaras&image=Piptiara.jpg

I can make a bracelet to suit depending on what tiara and earrings are like but this is absolutely gorgeous

(this was made for another Hitched called Mummy who recently got married so she might have pictures of her wearing it when she gets back from her honeymoon).

or a more delicate design .

If you want to chat to me about anything feel free to drop me at email at ******@**************.**.** and if you want some pearl samples I can pop them in the post to you without any obligation.

    Hope that helps

    Lynsey x

<<stupid question alert>> Do you wear the alice band style the same way you would wear a normal alice band / headband, or do you wear it on top of your head like you would a tiara? ?

You would wear it generally as an alice band but you could wear it as a tiara if you were having your hair up. Does your dress have pearl on it as I wouldn't add pearl if it doesn't have any. Also I would agree that the neckline doesn't need a necklace but if you really want one I have the heather single stone slider on a chain which you can see on this website http://www.iluvm.co.uk/acatalog/wholesale_silver_pendants.html with earrings for £8.99

I would also suggest a tiara with just a little height such as the graduated one here https://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/simple_bridal_prom_tiaras.htm

    Hi

Lovely dress. I too would say no necklace it doesn't need one. But a bracelet, earring and fab tiara will set it off great. I too would suggest pearl and swarovski crystals in your jewellery & tiara designs.

Feel free to have a look on my website for inspiration.

I hope that your holding off too incase you win a prize from the charity raffle - loads of jewellery and tiaras to be had.

I would also say no necklace and maybe a statement headpiece? i have just made some wedding jewellery using a golden shadow swarovski bead and i think that colour would go great with your dress

    which is this colour

i dont a picture of the jewellery as i forgot to take a picture before i sent it off and the lady has not had her wedding yet to take any pics for me!

Not a stupid question at all! It's the most comon question I get asked: how do I wear it? It depends on how you are having your hair. So you could have it as an Alice Band; or you could have a little more height to it & wear it as a tiara sitting on your head; or if you were having your hair up you could have it further back, wrapping around the hair as such. Not sure if that makes sense at all, but here are some differences of them being worn (obvioulsy not the one's I've shown you - but it shows the different ways things can be worn):

    Alice Band:

Tiara worn in traditional style at the front:

    Wrapped around the hair style:

As said of course, how you wear anything varies on how you are having your hair & the style tiara/head-piece that you are having, but I hope this helps you a little.

    Cheers

    K.
