Jewellery Question....

ibizabride, 17 March, 2011 at 22:53 Posted on Planning 0 17

I have just realised my wedding day is 7 weeks away this weekend and i havent even thought about Jewellery! I dont normally wear much so its not something I immediately thought of and I have no clue as how to accessorize. Do you match it to the dress or flowers and does anyone have any ideas as to what looks best with lace? I will try to attach photos of my dress and flowers and if anyone has any ideas please help a useless girl out!

A close up of the bodice:

Help?

What amazing detail on the bodice! Your jewellery can depend on many thing, the dress is a major factor i.e. if it has lots of jewels on the bodice, you may want to go for something more simple around the neck, if it is a sweetheart necklace, Y shaped necklaces or pendants go well and also the length of the necklace is important as you do not want it too close to the top of the dress. Other things to consider is how you are having your hair, what you are wearing in your hair etc. It is also really important to know what you do and don't like. Some jewellery may look fabulous with your dress but it may not be something you are comfortable with as it is so far removed from what you would normally wear.

When I think of lace, I think of pearls but if you wanted to add a touch of sparkle, you could incorporate some Swarovski Crystals.

    Here are some ideas:-

Or this one could be changed in to a Y shaped necklace:

    Hi,

Lovely elegant dress so I'd opt for delicate jewellery and mainly pearls. Some designs of mine (www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk):

An illusion necklace which will nearly disappear against your skin and means the beads appear to float so it's really delicate and ideal if you aren't a big jewellery person. This one is made with crystal rhinestones and swarovski pearls.

Or a single pearl drop http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=necklaces-bridal&image=P_S_FWP2.jpg

These are all freshwater pearls but swarovski pearls can be used as well.

    http://lynseysdesigns.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=necklaces-bridal&image=Miya.jpg

This is a freshwater and Swarovski Crystal pearl set which is on special offer at the moment for £35 instead of £54 - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=59765&id=138437779505448#!/photo.php?fbid=207364695946089&set=a.190437694305456.59765.138437779505448&theater

Some of the designs aren't on the website yet but I can email you with prices if you need further details. I can also create a new bespoke design to suit.

Are you wearing anything in your hair? Would be good to incorporate the same materials to match your jewellery and bring it all together.

Email me with any questions. Lynsey x

I would suggest either femme fatale or the crystal flower set

Kelly at KEBO makes some good points to consider about your dress etc. Also if you have a hair accessory already it would be good to cor-ordinate with that.

Pearls with lace are an ideal combination (chosen by myself for my big day too!).

Something like Grace on my website would look beautiful and the Swarovski crystals would break up the pearls a little as your detailing is delicate http://www.louloubelle.co.uk/necklaces_bridal.html#necklaces_grace

A classic pearl necklace like Hepburn would suit but if you aren't used to wearing jewllery then this might feel a little bulky for you so the crystals above would break it up a little http://www.louloubelle.co.uk/necklaces_bridal.html#necklaces_hepburn

Or something really delicate like Purity http://www.louloubelle.co.uk/necklaces_bridal.html#necklaces_purity

If you'd like to discuss options etv or would like something designed for you please feel free to email me on ****@***********.**.** - there are lots of more ideas on www.louloubelle.co.uk

Thnks for all the replies ladiess, all the pieces are beautiful. I think I will more than likely go for something delicate and dainty rather than bulky because I like things simple!

I havent really made up my mind about what I am doing with my hair so no accessories as yet but if anything I will probably just have a flower or something simple as I dont really like tiaras and such like.

Thanks again for all the suggestions, I shall bear them in mind and see what I come up with!

Thanks for your input Lynsey, I was thinking the same thing. I have also has a re think about my hair and am contemplating a head band with either diamante daisy flowers/pearls or a hippyish lace on with sparkles (I am getting married in Ibiza so it might be quite nice to be a bit boho!)

Don't really have much to add - I'd say a simple string of pearls would be my choice - but just wanted to tell you I think your dress is stunning. Really gorgeous.

Thanks for the pictures, i like the set, I dont normally wear earrings but probably will for the wedding. Sorry to be a pain but do you know the material the earrings are? I usually cant wear fashion earrings because they give me a weird bump thing behind my ear!

Also any idea on the price of the set? Thanks

    Jessica.

PS @Kharv - Thanks Smiley smile
