Job for usher

cez1987, 27 September, 2015 at 17:07 Posted on Planning 0 4

I have a friend who is more like a brother to both me and my partner. We want him to be involved in the wedding but I can't think of any jobs that he could do. He can't read so telling people where they are sitting is out of the question.

Could he hand out Order of Service or Hymn books or similar to guests when they enter the ceremony room/church? Or, if you are having buttonholes for all the guests, the ushers usually do this job. Not sure of your seating arrangement but ushers usually direct people to one or other side of the church/room - Bride's side and Groom's side.

He could sign the register? They tell you where to sign, so it should be fine even if he can't read.

Could he have the wedding rings? Our Usher is going to have our wedding rings so that he has an extra role to play in the ceremony

Book a shoot-it-yourself video and ask him to do some of the filming!

If you don't already have a pro videographer... Smiley winking

We are considering giving our usher our camera (just treated ourselves to a fancy new one) and asking him to take informal snapshots for us.

My cousin asked her user to drive the car with the BM in to the church and then onto the reception venue.
