July 2010 ladies!!!

I'm a July 2010 lady! <jumps up and down waving>

This year really has gone soooo quick hasn't it. We actually booked our venue in May 2008 so I guess you could say we've been planning for over a year, and it has just whizzed by. I think once it hits the exact year mark, it's going to speed right up as well!

At the moment it's all still quite calm for me, have got pretty much the big bits sorted:

Florist

Invitations

Colour scheme

Friend is making jewellery

Next on my list is bridesmaid stuff. I want to get their dresses before mine really (not entirely sure why, just think I would feel calmer knowing they are all sorted! Call jme mad ?) and then when it comes to early Autumn I'm going to start shopping around for my dress. Also I want to look into honeymoons. All other bits will come after then I think, like cake, favours, accessories, menu choices, etc.

How is everyone else getting on?

So far i have done Venue, Photographer, Band, Transport and colours and stationary. Found dress but not ordered, designed rings and about to order. Been looking into honeymoons, think we're sure we want to go to the Maldives but not sorted details yet.

I think next on my list to book will be the florist as i want a certain one so need to make sure they dont get booked!! I am also going to make my own save the dates so i need a trip to Hobbeycraft!!

Me too! I am so excited that we'll nearly be at the 1 year mark! I'm looking forward, when asked when the wedding is, to being able to just say 'July', and not have to clarify with '2010' or 'next year'. We haven't really done anything since booking the church and reception but I finish work for the summer hols (perks of teaching) in 3 weeks so will really be kicking off project wedding then. I want to make and send save the dates, book the photographer, go dress shopping, try & start sorting bridesmaids and make invitations. Once I've done that I don't think I'll be able to stop myself doing other bits & bobs!

I made my STD cards myself and im glad i did they were quite simple ill try and upload some pics but will have to use OH's camera tonight as mine has just given up ghost - quick desription is brown A4 card cut into 3 then used ivory line weave paper which was pre printed with STD details and stuck that to the brown card then decorated with some butterflys i bought of ebay and voila!!! Everyone one has commented on its nice to see them handmade so i am quite chuffed i made them!!!

Took my first shopping trip to confetti yesterday on my lunch break

I really need to decide on my colour scheme and figour out how things are all going to tie in! EEE so exciting!

Hi Meggles got pics on camera just need to get them from camera to laptop but other half has gone work left camera at home so i have no means of transferring them!!! Argghhh will do as soon as i get chance....

Im not reallly sure what to do next im in a floudering stage .......dress shopping was booked however mum has announced she now has to do something else that weekend so looks like its going to be sept .....

Im off work ill so think im going to go get some wedding magazines so i can spend my journey to Manchester and back tommorow gaining inspiration and trying to annoy my other half with the 'W' word!!! Ha ha .... sounda like a plan!

Im 17th July 2010.

So far we have the church, photographer/ videographer and recpetion - almost the dress the suits chosen and my mum is making the cake.

We're having a meal on the 17th this year to celebrate the year count down!!

Yikes people said it would go quickly and it is!!!!

I'm not sure if to just send them to everyone or not.

I think I will just send them to guests attending the ceremony, I didn't want to send them to evening guests & then them be expecting an invite for the whole day.

Keelz that was my thoughts too.... and the official line is my OH family is soo large we are only having a small wedding to make it fair!!!

Ps what have twinnies done so far im trying to decide what to do next.... ive hit a slump!!

We will be going to give notice on the 17th of July then in a couple of months me & my friend (who is making my bm dresses) are going to look for some fabric for the dresses.

I am also in the process of booking my Hen Do, yipeeeeeee

Done venue/band/photographer/transport. Found but not ordered dress and rings. Found florist but not booked. Organised most stationary but need to sort STDs asap. Provisionally booked registrar but will give notice on 17th......Picked HM destination but not sorted details yet.

Hmm well i had organised dress shopping but am trying to reorganising as mum has double booked herself typical mum!! Shes such a busy woman her next avaible date is Oct!!! Arghhh might go on my own ....??? Need to find a DJ in the area which is proving difficult!!

Yeah cant wait to give notice of marriage its very exciting!!

Can you not take a BM with you dress shopping?? Or just another friend if your mum cant make it? Its useful to have some other opinions.

I have no idea on my hen do yet, what are others doing?

My BM works in fashion and summer is height of season therefore she is at show after show after show and isnt allowed any time off either!!! Grrrr ................. So going to get another date from my mum to do initial dress shopping as i really want her to be with me and then get a date from my BM for Nov time to go second round dress shopping lol!!!......At least working in fashion she will give me straight up advice!!!

No ideas for Hen doo prob a nice spa hotel weekend in Bath??? or maybe a weekend in a villa in spain not sure.....

I went on one of my BMs hen weekend back inn April and we went to Majorca to stay in her Uncles villa. It was amazing, so much fun. It was the most gorgeous villa with a pool and on a cliff over looking the sea, we just wennt out for dinner, drank wine and sunbathed.....perfect!!!! I'd love to do something similar but only reason we could afford something so fab was because her uncle let us have it free!!!

Definitely recommend it if you can find a good deal. If not i think a spa break somewhere in UK sounds lovely.

22 of us are going to Magaluf for a long weekend Friday - Monday, got the accommodation booked & we are booking the flight's tomorrow.

I'm going to have a UK Hen Do aswell for anyone who couldn't make it to Mega Ruf (Magaluf) ?
