Oh no TinaBeana i hope you manage to find another photographer soon.. and one that is even better!

I'm feeling pretty organised, have hugely stressed moments when I don't feel organised at all when i realize it's less than 6 months to go but then I look back at all the things I have managed to do in the last 6 months!

Dress is safely back from Paris, hanging in my bedroom not really sure where else to put it.. I trust OH not to peek but would much prefer it somewhere safe..!

Shoes purchased a couple of weeks ago, the same day that OH got his suit - was a really successful day! so my outfit is completely done know which is good. OH just needs to get his shoes and then the shop can tailor his trousers to suit the length.

The only major thing i STILL haven't done is to sort my hair and makeup for Italy... so reluctant! every time I sit down to arrange I get so worried that I put it off! My main worry is that I cannot have a trial beforehand as I can't justify flying out to Italy beforehand!

Booked in for a hair trial with my normal hairdresser in January to see if the style I like works on my hair so I am hoping that will be a good start and then I have pictures to show a potential hair stylist.. I am still so undecided on my makeup, so fussy to think of someone else doing it as i wear quite natural make-up and all the artists I have looked at in Italy seem to do wedding make-up quite full on. Smiley sad

Invites are due in the post any day now. I was going to send out with Christmas cards but changed my mind as worried everyone will be too pre-occupied with Christmas and it may get lost in the excitement so have decided to send them out in January - hopefully will be a nice surprise as January is always a bit of an anticlimax and a quiet month!

Any tips/ ideas on hair and makeup hugely appreciated!!!

    Hello ladies,

Got a bit of a virus so I've spent the evening under my duvet looking at wedding music and invites. I was just wondering how far before the wedding people were having their RSVP deadline? We're having a pretty relaxed wedding so don't need one in order to confirm food, table plans etc but I'm having one because I want to know who is coming! Just wondering what the norm is? Maybe 8 weeks before? I plan on distributing invites mid feb so would mid April be too early or too late for an RSVP?

    thanks

Hope you're feeling better soon. I've got a RSVP date of 1 May, which is about 8 weeks, we get married at the end of June. We're sending ours out in Jan, cause we have an offer from the Hotel of reduced rates for guests starting 90 days or more before the wedding. We needed to make sure people had time to save for the cost of the room if they want one!

I think I've been a bit over excited with RSVP dates, we put start of March so like 3 months before our wedding, bit crazy I think but then I like to be super organised!! Invites going out start of Jan!! Hmmm maybe made a mistake there, oh well they are ordered and can't be changed! Gives us time to chase, and invite additionals if people can't make it!!

We have done excatly the same, our invites will go out early jan, with rsvp mid march. Our thinking was it gives us time to chase any straglers without it been to close to wedding date

We sending ours at in January as well with an RSVP date of the start of April! ?
I feel quite relaxed about it all at the moment, but I think once Christmas is out the way it might start getting hectic!

Our invites were supposed to arrive today but Vistaprint or Yodel (both blaming each other) have messed up and now they aren't coming until Monday - I'm feeling a little deflated as I was really excited, and am at home today!! Definitely getting a bit of a chocolate treat to cheer me up ?

I've also had a bit of a stress over the past couple of days as we've found out Coldplay are playing in Manchester on the same day as our wedding and its sent hotel rates sky high! We had a lot of people hoping to stay over and now I don't think they'll be able to! We have some rooms at the venue but we've allocated these to bridesmaids, best men and family! Any other rooms in the hotel are extortionate! OH is really chilled out about it, I'm just a bit frustrated!

Ahhh rach_217 I had a delay with my invites as well, as long as it gets sorted & the invites get to you try not to stress too much, defiantly have some chocolate! ?
I'm not surprised your frustrated, I'm sure people will figure out a way to be able to stay over and if they don't they'll still enjoy the day! Is your venue far from where you and people invited live?

Yes the invites should be here on Monday so not too bad, I think I've relaxed now - hehe!

They don't live too far, about 30-40 minutes for most, so they can all get home fairly easily if they can't stay over - I have a tendency to stress a lot about things, my OH is so chilled out about everything, I need to take some lessons from him! Xxx

Our invites arrived today and I love them -not sure how they got them here so quickly but am super happy and they look great! Big job addressing them all over Christmas now! I've also spent my day looking into hotels and am a little calmer now, so they can't stay right in the centre of town for £50, they'll have to pay a bit more if they want to stay over - i have 6 hotels under £150 within a 5/10 min taxi journey and a couple just over so I think that's ok!

All that stressing over nothing really, typical me!

Is anyone else getting really bad wedding nightmares? I seem to be getting them as soon as I make a new decision and they tend to revolve around suppliers not turning up or feeling disorganised in some way. I don't often remember dreams, so this is particularly weird for me! Smiley sad

Made the decision yesterday that we don't need to spend money on hiring chairs or chair covers as the venue chairs aren't too bad so just going to try to DIY some sashes instead Smiley smile Just need to finalise bits with florist, so might need to pop in on Saturday for another chat. I love that woman, but why do flowers have to be so expensive?

Around the time we sent out the save the dates I had a dream that it was the morning of the wedding and OH and I were in morrisons (obviously). We bumped into a friend of mine who asked when the wedding was so I replied "uhh today, you're invited" and that's when we realised we'd forgotten to send out invites...

Also dreamt that or caterers didn't turn up because I gave them the wrong postcode. Only 6 months of crazy dreams to go..!

I am always having dreams that things won't turn out right, suppliers won't turn up or they've forgotten about our wedding! I hate that at the moment it all still feels like just a list of suppliers, I'm struggling to imagine it all coming together. Me & h2b both said the other day we are actually more excited about the honeymoon at the moment, and the wedding is a bit of a stress!

I know its because the honeymoon is all sorted, and we see photos from our hotel on Instagram looking amazing nearly every day & it's something more tangible if that makes sense! It's all booked & paid for so just need to get on the plane! The wedding on the other hand still seems so far away from being sorted!

Yep, mine are often that suppliers don't turn up or that things don't go in the right order - it's so scary when I wake up it feels like it must be June and then realise it's not and feel much better! It's good to know it's not just me, it feels like it's too soon to be having these worries Smiley sad I wish our honeymoon was all booked, if he doesn't get it done soon (it's OH's one main job!) I'm going to start worrying!

I think it's really hard at the moment as although all the suppliers are booked none of our actual decision are made, and everyone keeps saying oh well your done aren't you!! Ermmm No! I have a florist but not decided on flowers, have a baker but not decided on cake design, have the venue but not finalised decor or food menu!! Argh!!

I know what you mean, I get "Ah, all the big things are done then!" a lot and I kind of nod and smile, but I feel like all the little decisions are going to be what makes the day! After Christmas it's going to be a real fact-finding mission on how many of my Pinterest ideas I can actually use Smiley winking

I'm in a bit of a lull atm. The invitations are done and awaiting posting and I've done a rough table plan ready. All the evening invites are done too, about 70 of them!

Me and my BMs have organised a day shopping for shoes and bags next month and booked the date for their fitting. My dress won't be arriving to Feb so nothing I can do there

The venue already knows what food we want as we were very specific and I have taken photos of the room, done a floor plan and decided what decorations I'm putting where. We're just delaying making everything until after all the Xmas stuff is packed away

So basically there's nothing wedding to do!

I'm also horribly orgnised for Xmas and it's all bought, wrapped, and ready for delivery next week. The only thing left is my grocery delivery on Wednesday

Shelleyw21, I'm so jealous, I feel so disorganised. I've given myself a bit of a breather with Christmas this year but promised myself I'm going to spoil everyone next year Smiley laugh

This month I want to make sure that I have booked the florist (almost there, just need to iron out some pricings), organised what we need from hotels (no idea where to start, so talking to FMIL about rough numbers), finalised bridesmaid dress designs (a family friend is making them), make at least some of our music/reading/hymn decisions (I've already picked some ideas, but need the nod of approval from the H2B) and decide what kind of rings we want so that we can try to get them sorted in the new year Smiley smile

We do our tasting meal at the venue in January. My first dress fitting in February and finalising details for the invitations (my dad's making these for us)... I have no idea what I'm going to do after the honeymoon, this has seriously been consuming my freetime Smiley sad

Oh my god Shelleyw21 I am so jealous 2, I'd love to be so organised! I am organised to a certain extent but just all the details to finalise! We have our invites to be addressed over Xmas and sent out in Jan! We both am have almost 2 weeks off over Xmas, finishing on Wed next week so our plan is to actually have a weddingy day where we work out what decisions we need to make and start discussions on what we want! Hopefully I'll feel better then!

Ahh totally understand that Soraneko, it takes over your life, I'm going to have massive post wedding blues!

I am pretty much sorted for Xmas, presents all wrapped this evening and ready to go next week, and shopping delivery sorted for Sunday!! I'm a massive Christmas geek, I love it, can't wait!!!!

Whoop! We are now under 6 months to go! I started making the invites last weekend and this week we seem to have found a caterer for the evening who is inside our budget! Hoping to get my jewellery and flats in the January sales and organising a make up trial with a friend who works on a benefit counter in January. Once Christmas is over we will be booking the hotel at gatwick for the night before the honeymoon. It's all coming together now!

Honeymoon booked! I have no idea where we're going, but OH booked it in my maiden name without checking. My passport expired April this year so I wasn't going to renew until just before we get married (you know... April this year) so now this could get complicated!

Hope everyone had a relaxing Christmas Smiley smile

Ahh how exciting! Love that it's a surprise that's so nice!! Ooh name thing is a bit annoying, not sure how he's booked it but would it be better to change the name on the booking than renew your passport and then have to change the name? Xxxx

Now that it's been booked, he needs to have all the official docs to get the name changed so we can't do it until I have the new passport and the 'intent to marry' docs of some sort.

I love that it's a surprise and I'm glad he thought to ask before we, say, got to the airport... just going to be a bit of a jumble now, that's all Smiley smile

Only 5 months, 3 weeks, 5 days to go for me!!! Took great delight in telling everyone on Christmas Day that it was exactly 6 months till the wedding. The only thing not booked is a car to get me and my bridesmaids and my brother to the hotel on the day. Couldn't really book that until I'd spoken to my bridesmaids this week. They live "up north" and I'm on the south coast. They tried on the dresses yesterday and they both look gorgeous, so glad they got sorted in the end. Had a bit of a nightmare with Debenhams when I ordered them, but got them in the sale and my Aunt is going to pay for them now, so they've cost me nothing! I love my family!

I am starting to freak out a bit now, I've been calm until now (well relatively anyway!), but as it creeps closer I'm starting to question my choices. I know it'll be fine in the end and the details probably won't matter on the day, but it's still scary!

    Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas.

Wow Lexi how exciting, I'm self employed so the time off for me is a bit of a nightmare as I don't get paid, and my clients will miss quite a few sessions but they are all understanding and I'm only ever going to get married once! I'm thinking of finishing on the Wednesday (1st June) and won't be going back until 3 weeks later (23rd June I think it is!).

I've sorted all the address labels for our invites tonight, and done a bit of a still left to do list, and booked the hotel at Heathrow for the night before we fly - I still feel like I have so much to do and am just not organised!! I'm sure I'll get there though!!! ?

Ahh hope you can sort it Soraneko, sounds like you can! My OH would never have been able to sort Honeymoon by himself, and he never would have thought about name! I've booked mine in my maiden name as have loads of time left on my passport, and I'm hoping to go away just before my wedding (work & money permitted!!)
