June 2011 B2B's what are you up to atm?

Hi,

So far ive organised my church, reception venue, dress, bridesmaid dresses, invites, wedding rings, kilts,flowers, cake and last night we booked our band and photographer.

Well, so far we have booked our venue, caterer (menu's not yet confirmed), photographer, DJ, gave notice to the registrar, save the dates have also gone out. That's it! Still haven't found 'the' dress. Think I have found the bridesmaid dresses (oh, I have bought the flower girl dress) but yet to make a definite decision on them until I've found my dress. Trying not to get stressed! People on here are so organised but I know what I am like and if I did it all way in advance, I would probably change my mind! Have 3 days of appointments next weekend for trying dresses on so hoping to find my one then! X

Hope you find your dress sara.jo! At least you have something to occupy your time - I'm going nuts I need something to be doing!

I've got all the major things booked so havent really got anything to research. Think I might make a start on the favours this weekend.

I'm also making a button pomander/bag thingy that is keeping me occupied on an evening but feel like I should be doing more. Guess I need to just chill out!

We had a real flurry and then have done nothing for ages - I feel like I should be doing more...

reception & Caterers (but not chosen a menu)

my dress

photographer

honeymoon

florist (a family freind)

1st night hotal (well.... they've not confirmed - it's on my list of things to chase)

and that's it - I keep thinking we need to sort out the entertainment ASAP, and should probably do something with the cake and invites. I haven't settled on a colour scheme though, as I really want turquoise, but can't think of flowers to go with (don't like gerberas, whcih are about the only turquoise flower i can think of!) so am stumped...

We done loads for a while but we're now just at that lull! Its been mine, h2b's and our sons birthday all in september (and sons party tomorrow) so its just been chaos. Im starting a new job this month so once thats all settled we'l get back into it.

So far we have deposits down on:

Venue
Photographer
Car
Piper
Venue decorator
Videographer
Caterer

Just need to sort out deposits for flowers, bar and hair/make up. I know who im going with for hair and make up, just need the pennies to send the deposit then pick a florist and mobile bar! I've barely even noticed the not planning but i think i've just been so busy. Im sure i'll start getting itchy feet again soon lol x

We have booked all the big things and made all of our decisions on colours, outfits etc so now it is all the little things. I have started buying bits over the last few weeks like dressing gowns for me and my BMs for the morning, the vases and sand for our sand ceremony, icing cutter for the top of our cupcakes etc and I have started to make our invites this week as they are a bit involved and I want them all done by Christmas so they can go out around the end of January.

I keep thinking it is too early to do little things but it is 8 months on Monday and I know once Christmas is out of the way it will fly by and I dont want to be rushing around doing things at the last minute !!

Thanks MrsB_tobe! I have to say though, I'd still rather be in your position and have my dress. It's getting a bit tight for time now, and I can't plan much until i know what my dress is like.. I think you should start doing the favours..make sure if they are sweeties they will still be in their sell by date by then though, lol... I bought some pearl sugar balls for the tops of my cupcakes I plan to make yesterday and luckily they are valid for a few months after! Go get creative!! Once I have worked out what the heck I'm doing, that's gonna be the fund part! X

See I have a bridesmaid dress trying on session with my girls at the end of November, then gift list/suits to be sorted either just before or after xmas but other than that its just the little things I think. My sisters designing my invites as we speak so that will keep us busy after xmas...

Well I started making the favours yesterday - I'm giving the guests some flower seeds (and a free drink voucher for the bar which I got printed for free at vistaprint!), and yesterday I made all of the packets for the seeds to go into ?

It felt so good to be doing something!

Gosh you are so organised! I'm just sorting out estimating all the materials we will need for the invitations etc so we can make a start on them soon.

As soon as Xmas is out the way its going to fly by!

We should keep checking in see how each other are doing running up to the big day!
