June 2011 Brides

BrideMrsT2B, 6 December, 2010 at 13:54 Posted on Planning 0 17

Hi Everyone, Just registered on here after looking through the online shop and just wondered if there are many other June 2011 brides and how their planning is going? I have ordered my wedding dress (which I have just paid off thank goodness!), booked the venue, registrar, given notice of marriage, booked the photographer, hairdresser and make up lady, bought the bridesmaids dresses, wedding shoes, favour bags, place cards and table numbers and the invites are done and ready for sending in March. Does anyone know when to expect the first wedding dress fitting? Anyway, look forward to posting some more as the day gets nearer and i'm sure i'll be looking for all sorts of advice and tips!

I get married on 18th June next year scary how time is flying and how people seem to have always done that little bit more than me!! I've got the venue booked, the photographer, caterer,my dress (which I picked up on sat!), dj, harpist, registar, given notice, got my ring and hubby's on order, and bought some stuff for the creative bits. Ie: invites (stds have gone out), sweetie jars, etc. I've got lots from vista print like the sweetie jar stickers, postcards for guests thoughts (instead of a guestbook, which I stole from someone on here, hope they don't mind!). I need to sort out BM dresses and hair and make up... Xx

I'm June! And feel like I've done nothing! What have I been fannying around at for the last 6 months????? ?

I've booked church, venue, caterers, videographer, wedding co-ordinator, honeymoon, DJ, ordered dress...

tog is covered by family, OH sister doing cake, OH aunt doing flowers, bought all the stuff to make the stationary (just need to make it!!!)

Urgent stuff after xmas is: order mens suits, meet with vicar to sort out details, set up gift list, order BM dresses (but they are chosen).

My to do list just gets bigger and bigger...surely it should be getting smaller?!!

    xxx

ETA: My dress comes in in Jan (ordered in July), but not sure on my first fitting. Hopefully not straight away as I need to shift some of my podge!

    Hi,

You are all much more organised than me! Got my dress (in sample sale so my first fitting is at the end of Jan), booked venue, registrar/given notice, booked caterers, BIL doing photography, booked band, booked quartet, booked accommodation......

Save the dates are ready to go out with my Christmas cards,

Need to do urgently or just after Christmas - Florist, bridesmaid dresses, my shoes, decide on if we want a vog, suits

Sometime after getting all of that done will start thinking of stationary/favours/presents etc, make-up/hair ... have I missed anything??

Our date is also June, so far organised church, venue, my dress, bridesmaid dresses, band, invites, photographer, flowers, cars, cake, rings and favours. We still need to decide on honeymoon, order kilts, find fabulous shoes, decide on hair and accessories, find make-up artist, organise bus and chair covers. I think we are fairly organised, however after new year i'm sure it'll fly in. Jx

Hello fellow June b2b's....Sounds like you all have everything under control to me ?

We have everything that needs to be organised this side of xmas pretty much done, only things left to sort next year is h2b's and best man's suit, pick what flowers we are having, pick the menu for the reception, put a table plan together and thats about it.. oh and send out invites about Feb time. We got engaged over a year ago so we've had plenty of time to get things as we've gone along, no stress, its been great ?

We are on June 4th and although I think I've got most of the major stuff sorted (church, reception, tog, dress, flowers, musicians, honeymoon) it's the little bits that are taking up so much time and thought. Just sent my draft service sheet to the Rector for comments (and maybe sign off!) - that took me ages to write as we are having full nuptial communion and I've never written a service before - and next it's firm up the dreaded guests list and print the invitations.

It does seem to be rushing round rather fast. Am hoping to get a second wind after Christmas.

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for all your replies, although some of you are way ahead of me I am feeling much more positive now. We've been engaged since July last year so planning started early which was nice but lately it just seemed to grind to a halt and I was struggling to give myself a kick up the bum. Ii'm sure after Christmas time will just fly by and we have appointments to finalise flower choices, suit hire and choose the menu for the reception so I am mega excited about getting back into the swing of things.

Thanks again ladies, just what I needed ?

Hi, I know you have got a lot of replies already but I just wanted to say I think this is completely normal!I'm a June 2011 bride too. We got engaged in Feb and I went into wedding planning overdrive and got all the major things booked in a couple of months. So I haven't actually booked anything else of done any other planning for about 5 months now and need to get my mojo back! But I'm saving that for after Christmas now.

    X

Thanks VickyJay, thats the same as me, I planned so much in the beginning (my other half calls me Monica from Friends) and I guess there is just not a lot more to do at the moment but I am soooo looking forward to getting into the swing of things after Christmas.

I've just spoken to my dress shop and my dress will probably be due in around April so that's when i'll get my first fitting...roll on April I say!!

    Hi!

I am June 23rd, I thought the planning was going well until I saw how much you have done!! well done!

    So far:

    I have the dress

    The cake

    The venue

    chair covers

Booked the registrar and given notice

    Booked hair & make up

Chosen the invites - but not yet ordered (hoping they may have a Jan sale!)

Booked my string trio for the ceremony

    and that's it!

I keep thinking I must be missing and forgetting things, have you got a to do list? Also what is your date? Where in the world are you?

Hi MrsTomkins2be, my date is 25th June and i'm in Peterborough, Cambs but getting married outside Peterborough in a hotel. I do have a to do list but i've got lists coming out of my ears with names, invities, menus, questions to ask florist etc etc!! I am absolutely loving the planning but just seem to be in limbo until the new year really but I got my wedding folder out again last night and went through my four appointments for January to make sure I have everything I need. Oh and my best friend is getting married in February so there is going to be a lot going on in January including having bridesmaid dress fittings and her hen night so I should be making the most of it at the moment really but I can't wait!!

The only things I am unsure about at the moment are wedding favours but I am going away for Christmas so I might find something that catches my eye!
