Hello, my name is maria and in June I am hoping will be a very special day for my hubby to be and myself....... BUT i am stuck! i have no idea what to do and am really looking for advice, such as when do i contact a florist, mke up artist, hair styist etc???? we arent having the huge royal wedding copy but we are doing an inbetween thing! its very hard to explain sort of the wedding suits etc dress and all but no sit down meal and boring stuff....

any advice would really be appreciated as i am starting to panic! dont have family to fall back on and hubby to be works away all week so its just me on my own trying to arrange what seems like an impossible event!

i look forward to hearing from you - even if your going though the same thing be nice to chat :-)

i am based in nottingham, if any one is about from here :-) take care and good luck to all those planning that special day xx

Hi there! Congratulations and welcome to hitched! Please don't panic there are lots of people on here that can help you and everyone is super friendly. I am getting married in July so our plans should be on a par with each other. How far along are you with your plans? Priorities are always venue, registrar, colour/theme and then booking caterers, entertainment, photographers and cars (if you are having them). After that I would suggest outfits (as some shops ask for 6 months notice to order bridal dresses!) and then make up, hair and flowers. The general rule I think is to get the biggest parts of your budget (venue, food and tog etc) sorted first, then all your other suppliers (dj, florist etc) next, followed lastly by the things you can 'go out and buy' (shoes, jewellary, gifts etc). Hope that makes sense and helps a little?

Welcome to Hitched from another Notts lady ?

June isn't that far away in wedding terms so I'd suggest that you contact florist/make up stylist/hairdresser/any other suppliers as soon as possible.

The first thing you need to sort out is whether you want a church or civil service and a rough idea of the number of guests so that you can look for appropriate venues.

    Huge congratulations to you!!

Already some great advice, bandy about some ideas between you and your hubby to be ? and get a little idea of venues, budget and numbers.

There are some amazing wedding blogs out there for inspiration, book your venue, florist, chair covers etc asap then you can play around until you come up with something that makes your heart flutter!!!

Get recommendations, visit wedding fayres (there are heaps around this time of year) and go with your gut!

    HUGE congratulations again!

    xx

Congratulaitons to your wedding, i think the wedding should be your happiest moment in your life, so just calm down and make preparation step by step. believe everything will be ok!about the wedding dresses and your husband's wedding suit, i can suggest you one good site, dresses are custom-made for free, so you can have a look!

It might be helpful to you to buy a wedding planner (just look on Amazon). They usually start their to-do lists at least 12 months in advance and you've got about 6 months or less to go but just tick off all the earlier things then do the rest as it comes along.

Definitely get a venue sorted as main priority, June is wedding season time and you might find your favourite has already been booked so get looking! And good luck!
