Just checking back in with you all. We've got the BM dresses, all the stationery is in the spare room now, and I'm actually going to hand some of them out at Christmas, and I'm giving all the north american ones to my mum then, so she'll post them later. We're sending out the day invitations in February with a 22 March RSVP date. If there are no RSVPs we'll bump up some evening invitations to day and send the rest out for a 22 April RSVP date.

I have also got all the plates needed for the dessert table, and a spreadsheet outlining exactly what is going to go on it - EXCITING!

I met with the dressmaker who will be making the lace bodice for my dress and we still don't need to go ahead until the new year..

    And there's not much else.

    Still need:

    1. Hair/Makeup (if anyone knows anyone in Orpington/Sevenoaks/Tonbridge/Westerham/Edenbridge area let me know!)
    2. Florist
    3. Suits, but Ant is sorting everything for the men!
    4. still need 7 fabric bags from vistaprint for our welcome packs, and will need to get supplies for them closer to the day.

And that's about it, really.. Everything else will be planning the minute detail of the days leading up to the wedding when all the family is over!

Is anyone else getting bored of all the wedding planning?

I've booked all the major things now so not a huge amount to do til after Xmas...just want it to hurry up and get here already.

Hope I'm not lulling myself into a false sense of security and have actually forgotten to book something major.

    Hi LC to be,

Pleased to hear someone else is feeling this way !

We've booked most of the main things and just have the suit hire/buy and the rings to do , which we hope to do next week when we are both on holiday from work.

The only other thing left is the honeymoon, but we can't even agree on a location at the moment ☹️

June just can't come round quick enough now !

Oh yeah, I lost the wedding bug a good 6 months ago! Had to get a puppy to distract me Smiley smile

I am looking forward to the fiddly things, though. Like buying lots of cakes and desserts, having a hair trial, getting the lace bodice made, booking people into their rooms at the castle, going for the food tasting.

I know I still have a couple things to do, but the only major things is giving notice, and Ant and I need to do it in person together, so we're waiting for the new year and taking a half day off work to do it.

Oh, and I was looking at the wedding file yesterday and I noticed our registrar requires the final balance 16 weeks before the wedding! I had assumed that like everything else it would be 8-10 weeks, so a good thing I checked.

I am bumping this and wondering how everything is going with everyones planning? I've booked consultations with florist and cakelady for this month, + am going to 2nd dressfitting with seamstress in a couple of weeks. I think 6 months is going to go pretty fast!

I have just noticed this thread. I am a June 2013 bride too. I have everything booked already and I wish June would hurry up and get here....having siad that I know there is loads of stuff I can't do till nearer the time and I am worried I will be really busy and stressed in the two months or so before the wedding. The only things that are not done which can be done in advance are the tings OH is in charge of- buying my wedding ring, suit hire and invitations. He made good progress with the invitations this weekend though which is a plus. We haven't booked our honeymoon yet either which is starting to worry me now. Has everyone else already booked?

Hi KittenCake, when is your wedding? I've not booked honeymoon - mainly because we can't afford one - will probably go on a mini-moon in the UK somewhere.

I just had a phone call today from my make-up artist that my hairdresser is planning to emigrate to Australia and won't be doing any weddings this year (!!)

My lady told me to bring pictures of stuff I liked (not just bridal bouquet, but also pics of centrepieces/chairs if I wanted flowers on those), and obviously keep a budget in mind. When I spoke to mine on the phone she said not to worry about the type of flowers that are in my pics - she could always choose alternatives if they weren't within budget.

Good luck with the planning! x

    Hi ?

Just thought I’d join in. I’m getting married in June. We’ve been together for 8 years and engaged since April. So far all seems to be going well (touch wood) and all the big stuff is done...I think.

I think it’s because I’m a bit of a control freak and my OH has been really involved...I was never one who planned before or knew of anything I wanted but it all seemed to fit into place after getting engaged.

The last main thing we need to do is confirm reading and music with our registrar.

Invites went out this weekend...and it might sound sad, but I get all excited when we get an email for RSVP.

I’m just trying to make sure I enjoy it, as I’ve had so many people say that you don’t realise how much fun it is and afterwards you kind of miss it.

But yes, just though I’d say hey ?

Hi Bibby Smiley smile I think everyone turns into a bit of a control freak when it comes to their wedding! My guy has been abit on and off with the enthusiasm, but I think it's because it's still 5months or so to go. He seems to only work in weeks - not months, if you see what I mean, lol!

Our invites have just gone out today, so pretty excited to see when we get replies too! x

Mines like that. I find the thing that works is if I send him a 'to do' list he'll get on it as he hates having unfinished tasks. Good to know for the coming years!!

5 months to go really has crept up quickly! A question...have you booked or had your first fitting for your dress yet? I'm interested to know when it's ok to get in contact if I don't hear anything from them soon

    thanks Smiley smile

I didn't get my dress from a shop so not going through the 'usual' process, but I've read that alterations don't take place until 8-6 weeks before the wedding. I guess you could always give them a ring and ask when it's best to make an appointment, as I'm sure they will start to get very busy towards the summer! x

I feel like I have done all of the big stuff but not enough of the little stuff like favours etc... how is everyone else getting on with the little things? Hopefully gonna send invites out in the next couple of weeks and have an RSVP of march - sound reasonable?

    Still have no florist!!

Have a make up and hair person, though, woo!

And we've booked our appointment to give notice in a couple weeks.

Aaand our menu tasting at the venue is 7 March!

I can't lie, though, it's nice having a puppy to distract you, even when she decides to chew up a load of cardboard on the living room floor:

Hi Bibby. When did you order your dress? When I ordered mine they told me it would be 6 months until it came in and that once it comes in should book an appointment for my fitting then.

I would probably contact them if you haven't heard anything in a month's time - I'm planning on having my fitting in March, to give them enough time to do the alterations, and then have a final fitting in May.

    How is everyone getting on?

I think have done all the major things...just hope not missing something.. booked church, reception venue, dress, suits, BM dresses, photographer, videographer, florist, rings, cake and DJ... I still need to send the invites and buy favours and my jewellery (no idea where to look for this - have looked on Glitzy secrets but nothing there was quite right).

Oh and venart, your puppy looks very cute - I would get distracted by her too!

Hi LC to Be.... I did actually call them last week and they said it's coming in this week or next. She said that they don't usually do fittings til 6 weeks before. Am I wrong in thinking that's crazy?! I am keen to get in asap so I can check the minor alterations will be done. I'm not trying to lose weight beforehand which I understand why they are often done like that. I just worry that they are going to think I'm a control freak when I say I want to go in within the next month or so!

All else is up to date, getting more and more RSVP's and finally confirmed all our bits with the registrar, barring the vows. We are planning on doing our own. Which is stressing me a little as we don't want anything too sickly but also it's hard to do them when you don't know what the other is putting!

How's everyone else getting on? xx

If it's only minor alterations then 6 weeks will be enough, but I'd still want to go in when it arrives, just to see it and confirm that it is only minor alterations.

    Hi Everyone,

My first fitting is booked for next week and then she says I'll have another about 6 weeks before the day for final ones.

I'd hit a bit of a slump in the planning and struggled to get re started , but still think I'm on top off things - looking at invitations now and hen night.

Venart - I can't believe the size Wispa is now ?.. so cuddly !!

Hi girls! I know it's totally late in the game, but I joined weight watchers earlier this week! eek!

I have my BHS dress, and it fits me, but it's a corset back and I'm sure it could do with being laced up quite a bit tighter, so my goal is to get as far as it will allow me. The only problem that could arise is in the lace bodice I'm having made. I've only had the preliminary meeting with the seamstress and not been measured yet. She said it shouldn't take more than a few weeks to make, but I had originally hoped to get it done around now.

Am I crazy to push it back 6-8 weeks? I suppose I could ask the seamstress her opinion - that would be smart, eh?

And yes, Wispa has really grown! I can barely believe I used to be able to carry her around in my arms Smiley smile

First fitting is beginning of April (12 weeks before wedding) sent invites last week which I made myself.. That's actually about it though Smiley sad still need a DJ, bridesmaids dresses.. All 6 of them (2 adults, 2 teens, 2 toddlers) a flower girl dress & page boy suit, grooms suit, best mans suit, centre pieces, table name cards, table plan, OMGGGGG I'm totally freakin out now Smiley sad we are on a tight budget too x

    Hi BlushingBride.

    Welcome to Hitched.

You seem to have sorted out alot already so don't stress over it. Are you planning on having all your bridesmaids matching?, if not then maybe you'll find dresses on the high street for them since they are in similar age groups sets ??

Where are you getting married ? Feel free to flash your venue and dress etc ?

Good Luck with the rest of your planning !

I just clicked on this thread and thought how remarkably relaxed you all were having not booked much at all. Then I realised it was a thread that had been bumped! I was panicking for you all for a second! Have you all sorted your entertainment? Have you considered a close up magician?

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Ooooh I'm June 22nd too! And on impulse today decided to make myself a brooch bouquet! My sister had some lovely pale ivory foam roses, pearls and other bits so I nabbed those then raided my jewellery boxes and my bag of primarni headbands etc that I bought with a view to using only the second for bouquet ribbon trimming. I couldn't believe how many bits I had in my tiny craft box too, so I cracked on. It's not finished yet, and I need to look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow to see if I even like it lol, but may post pics through its development. With what I have got from my sisters (I said I'd pay her for it all) plus what I have spent on bits already I reckon it will have cost about £25-£30. Not bad I don't think? Xx

Hi chick! You're getting married on my birthday!!! We are doing it on the 22nd. Anyway, I notice you are looking for a flowergirl dress..... What age? I have a new with tags Debenhams tigerlily ivory butterfly dress age 3. Absolutely stunning but an impulse purchase and now my daughter has gone through a serious growth spurt its too small. I'm selling it for £15 (will post for free if you want it). I'll upload a pic and do have closeup but Tbh they don't do it justice. Cangive you more info if you like. Xx
