I feel like I was too early sending my invites out first week in Jan....but I'm a bit of a control freak. We got all RSVP's back for 1st March...it just means it gives a bit of time for the table plan.

We've just done a proper breakdown of the weeks leading up to the wedding, literally, w/c 18th March, w/c 25th March right up until the wedding. i've found that's really helped, as we can keep a constant eye on it.

Everything big is sorted. Barring any dress fittings. I'm not sure why I keep putting it off....

Wow, bibby, that's some hardcore planning!! We've got a tab on our spreadsheet with a to do list, and it always does feel great to tick things off. For 22 March we have: finalise gift list, send out remaining invitations, agree on reading (only one), and book all the time off work we need. We went over the gift list last weekend and I think we're pretty set on it.

I keep obsessing over my dessert table. The only DIY thing I have left to do is to make the backdrop of ribbons for the table, but I need to figure out how long the table will be first, as I wouldn't want to make it too short. We think we've figured out exactly what to have on the dessert table. It looks like a lot, doesn't it? I mean, we're having a small wedding... but it's doubling as favours, as there will be takeaway boxes for people to leave with cake/desserts...

    Thoughts?

I am a bit of a control freak and feel more settled having it like that. We've also got another spreadsheet with various tabs, with budget, guests, links to things that still need buying and song lists. This week we are finalising our vows and also putting together what we are putting on big chalk boards, as we are using these instead of individual order of services and also another to list bridal party and family members and thank you's.

That looks really good! We are doing the same thing...have a cupcake like tower (but instead we are getting various flavour mini Victoria sponges - our theme is cricket teas) and then 5 or 6 cakes made by family and friends and have bought small brown paper bags for people to ttake home. Personally I think there's something nice about a table looking like its bursting with treats, kind of nice and un-uniform.

I've also recently decided to stop reading too many wedding magazines as it just makes me think my wedding won't be good/unique/quirky enough. Too much pressure!!

I have almost completely resigned myself to not seeing results on the scales. It's just so frustrating, but luckily my measurements are all going down, so I've altered my wedding goals now to reflect just my waist measurement. I gained 2 lbs as of this Monday's weigh in, but my waist was down 1cm, so obviously there's a bit of a disconnect between the scale and my improved health. I put on a pair of skinny jeans today that I hadn't worn since Feb and they were practically falling off they were so loose, and they used to be tight!

Basically, I'm just saying you shouldn't necessarily stress over a small amount of weight gained, it might not be FAT.

How is everyone getting on? It's only 3 months to go now...less if you're getting married at the start of June! It's getting exciting (and slightly nervous). Just got our quotes in for various options for food and drinks. My hair trial is in two weeks, I've ordered a veil and our pre-wedding photo shoot is later this week if the weather is nice and not too cold.

Thought I'd flash and see what you guys think?? Can't decide whether to go for gold shoes or beige...don't want to be OTT. xx

I would definitely go with gold shoes, just looking at your other colours and the general look of your wedding.

Everything still the same for us. 88 days to go, and I've been a bit silly and started our table plan. I know we can't paste on the names until the neek before, but I've got it all ready to go, and even placed on the head table, as it's the only onw that won't be changing (barring any major disasters of course):

The mirror is from Next, the floral paper is wrapping paper from the clearance bin at Cath Kidston, and I've got dark hunter green thick card and a slightly shiny thinner white card, on which to print the tables' and guests' names.

We have changed our table name theme and finally settled on 4 different artists and 4 scientists, as I'm an art historian and Ant studied physics. Two very different people coming together. Now I just need to decide which artists to use for my other 3 tables. Should I go with all Venetian artists? Or vary it more and do 1 renaissance, 1 baroque, 1 impressionist, and 1 modern? Decisions decisions Smiley smile

You're all so organised! I think that we have 67 days to go or something like that (we are 1st June) and I am waaaaaaaaaaay behind you lot! I am shopping with my nieces for their flowergirl dresses on Saturday and I have my first dress fitting next Tuesday so hopefully things will start moving again.

Love everyone's flashes by the way ?

Thanks guys! Wow, Venart you are so creative doing all this DIY stuff. I LOVE your sweet table. Imo, it looks better when it looks full, rather than spread out if you know what I mean. More is more when it comes to sweets ! And thanks for the input on shoes - I should really order those soon.

As there's less than 2 months to go now, I thought it's about time I started breaking my shoes in so I got them out (and fell in love all over again!) and walked round in them for about an hour while I was getting ready for work. They didn't rub at all but not as comfy as some heels I have, but then I don't often wear heels. Does anyone have any tips about how to break shoes in or get them more comfy? And a cheeky flash ?

I'm still on the look out for some flatter shoes for the evening cos I know I won't manage in those all day, but I'd prefer something with at least a small heel cos I don't want my dress dragging massively on the floor. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Is anyone making confetti cones? If so, what are you using to put them in? I've heard cupcake holders are great to hold them up but I'm concerned they won't be deep enough (confetti cones are taller than cupcakes, right?) and I want to put them in a lined basket so it won't be possible to attach anything to the sides. Argh why don't I have a craftier brain?

We're not doing confetti cones, as our venue doesn't allow confetti (even if biodegradable!), but you could use this kind of cupcake stand for them: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001CB5ZY2/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9556678509&ref=asc_df_B001CB5ZY2

Or smaller containers that only hold 3 or 4 cones:

Or, if you wanted to use one big basket or box, you could fill the bottom with sand or rice or something that you could actually wedge the cones into so they stand upright?

Went to my hair trial a couple of days ago and the lady was so nice, but we discovered that we'd only booked the trial and not the actual day and she'd booked someone else in! Huge bugger. But she phoned the lady that is doing my make-up as they are old friends and she also does hair, and she has agreed to do both now, so phew! Hairdresser seems to be my thing, as the original one I had decided to relocate to Australia, lol. Good thing is I still had my hair trial and as she felt really bad she gave me a discount. I'll be having it down, slightly curled and partly pinned to the side, so I will still have hair going down my back. I don't have any detail on the back of my dress, so it's ok.

Been a really productive two weeks: ordered suit for htb to try on, ordered my ring, ordered my shoes (I went for beige in the end).

Going to get dresses sorted for flowergirls later in the month (hopefully), picking up my dress and sorting out veil!

I still need to confirm the cakes tho...

Getting really close now ladies, eeek!

Ooh, that's rubbish about the hairdresser, but lucky you managed to have the MUA doing it. You won't need another trial with her, though, will you? Or are you confident that she'll be able to recreate exactly what you want?

I'm starting to flag again, like my wedding mojo is draining away. 2 1/2 months still seems like ages to go, and I have so little to do now! I ordered 2/3 of the cakes and treats for the buffet, but have to wait a couple more weeks before I can order the rest. Plus, we're waiting to try the taster cake from choccywoccydoodah to see if we want to get a cake from them. If the cake is delicious (and I really hope it is), we will be getting the taller of the two in this photo in place of one of the cakes we planned to get from hummingbird bakery:

My hair and make up trial isn't until 7 May, and my next dress appointment is 1 May. Dress progress is going well, but it's slow as well, seeing as I've had a month between appointments. In May we'll have the tulle for the skirt ready to go on, though. I want June to be here NOW.

That cake looks amazing, mmm! Hope it tastes as good as it looks!

Yes, my MUA is going to do a free hair trial when I go for my make-up trial too - the MUA was really nervous because she thought I was having a really complicated up-do and she doesn't do hair that much anymore. Tbh, I'm not too fussed about the hair as long as it looks reasonably good (this from a girl who usually just brushes it and good-to-go)!

Just had a message that we can't have the jukebox we wanted either because of illness, so now we just think we'll have music on an ipod or something. £500 saved or spent on something else? Hmmm...

I think 2,5 months will go very fast - the time between christmas and now has flown by! But I know what you mean with wanting it to be June now, I can't wait to see everything come together and most importantly - be married!

Tog will be getting our pre-wedding shoot pics back to us next week too - exciting!

Well we now have 75 days to go and most things are organised- not the finer details but there's time for that. The only real purchase needed now is OHs ring... He was going to get a plain white gold band and I would have a little message engraved in it. Now he's decided he'd like one made, with some of his late mums yellow gold jewellery melted down to insert in it. Still not decided on a style let alone get a quote so we really need to crack on with that.

It's mainly financial things to be sorted now... My mum is paying for most of the wedding and is giving me the money as and when it's needed but today I sorted out all the envelopes for the suppliers and freaked a little lol! Most have already had deposits but a few want it all paying at once on the day. It looks like so much money when you see it written on an envelope!!!! :0o

Then it's the details.... TOG list, dj playlist, band set, caterer meeting, hair trial, dress fitting etc. But we still haven't met our new vicar!!! I really hope we get to meet her very soon as right now I don't even know if the OOS I've created is a goer and I sooooo want to get it printed out and the cd of music made.

On the upside, I went with OH and his Dad to choose their suits yesterday (my dad will have the same as them) and they look ace!!!! :0)

Now I just need this nice weather to stay so my garden can nurture my wedding flowers properly- can't wait to see them grow!!

    Xx

    70 days/10 weeks and counting ?

So exciting about your dress fittings, ladies! My next one is 1 May, then hair and make up trial is the morning of the 7th of May, followed by our final venue meeting that afternoon.

It really is starting to feel quite real now, isn't it?

If I think about 10 weeks.. It's going to fly by, isn't it?

Things we've done since my last update:

-eaten a TON of choccywoccydoodah taster cake (I was iffy on it to begin with, but I came around - the chocolate on the outside is RIDICULOUSLY more-ish)

-bought 4 green bow ties and pocket squares.

That's about all, though. We've got to shell out thousands of ££s in the next couple weeks, though, and that's just a liiiiittle bit scary!

Everything is coming together now. Can't wait to try on my actual dress rather than the sample. We went out last weekend and ordered the cake, put a deposit down on my ring, and helped my mother in law and my nan get their outfits.

Now I've got to do the table plan, a list of photographs that I'd like on the day, playlist for the DJ, and make the CD for the chapel.

    Hair and make-up next weekend.

Its all getting very exciting! I feel ok at the moment but I'm sure the nerves will creep in soon....

    xx

Ahhh! Everything is so exciting! Smiley smile I've got 73 days to go and everything is coming together nicely! I have been told by other brides that you tend to lose weight through stress but I've been so organised that I haven't stressed in the slightest... I have no excuse... I need to exercise!

To anyone with adult bridesmaids who need shoes, there's a lovely pair of nude court shoes on the Mark's and Spencer's website and they're only £19.50! Just ordered those, absolute bargain - and they do half sizes!

Still seems like there's loads to be done but it's all falling into place. Meeting with our cake maker on Sunday, taster at the venue the following Sunday. Second dress fitting with the seamstress on 25th May. Have to make sure all of the men go in for their suit measurements, get the bridesmaids dresses altered, seating plan (almost done), music, choose ceremony, find some nice flat shoes for when we have photographs taken on the fields, favours (any ideas?), book a hair trial, gifts for bridal party and the OH, get my engagement ring cleaned and the chain on my necklace shortened.

I've probably missed something out! It seems like all the little bits at the moment anyway. The main thing is, any appointments that are needed, apart from my hair trial, are booked!

    Smiley smile

Am loving the look of your honeymoon venart - due to cost we are limited to Prague for 4 nights, but I can't wait!

We have bought HTB's suit, and I've ordered a couple of dresses for my flowergirls to try on. Planning on ordering confetti in a couple of weeks. Other than sorting out cakes with cakelady I really have nothing else to do... although we still have tasting of our menu, and lots of people to pay!

I started to panic last night about how much everything is going to cost, with suppliers wanting their money soon! I've made a spreadsheet with everything I've got left to pay and it came to a bit more than I was expecting! We'll have enough it's just very daunting spending so much money at once!

    How's everyone else doing? xx

Everything is coming together. Thing with me is that I've had the 'big things' sorted for ages, but all the little things I tend to procrastinate and now I've had this mad rush to get it all sorted. The things we still need to do are buying the groom's wedding ring, getting his shoes (got his suit!), sorting out the music and figuring out a reading for one of his best men. We also need to sort out a tasting for our menu - but that's not until next month as well as a last meeting with our venue coordinator. I think my tog also wants a last meeting to sort out what pics we want taking - timings etc. I cannot believe it's only two months away! Eek!

We're not quite in a panic, but the amount of money that will be going out of our account within the next month is daunting. We were supposed to have been invoiced for the estimated final balance for the venue (including catering, evening buffet, account bar, all occupied rooms, etc) 2 months before the wedding, which was 3 days ago. I emailed our venue tonight to ask when they would be issuing us an invoice. We're going to go from feeling super rich with loads of cash in our account to being skint in a matter of seconds when we send through that transfer. We already paid off the honeymoon a couple week ago, though, so luckily at least that's something out of the way.

Photographer and Videographer don't get paid until a couple weeks before (i think), and DJ on the day, so once venue is taken care of I'm going to be breathing a lot easier.

    I know!! Mad isn't it?! :0D

Someone asked me the other day when it was and when I realised I could now say "next month" I squealed a little!

I had my hair and makeup trials on Monday then went straight for my first dress fitting. It was even better than I remember and needs no alterations doing at all. I'm sooooo excited to get it all on for real now.... 49 days to go waaaahhhhhh!!!

I keep looking at the photos and grinning- I usually HATE seeing pics of myself but I love the snaps my friend took.

Also, today I had my white gold ER cleaned and redipped so it's all shiny and lovely again- looks fab against my WR. So can't wait!!!!!!! Xx
