Have you got any ideas what you want do for your hen yet?

We are going to Blackpool for a Sten Do in May, I know Blackpool can be a bit tacky but it should be fun ;-)

Ah Blackpool sounds fun, its only tacky when people make it tacky..sure you'll have a great time Smiley smile
Well I have a few ideas but I think we're going to go to the barrowlands (great music venue in our town) for a 50's / 60's & 70's day and night. Get dressed up and stuff, and it falls a week before the wedding so may be nice timing haha. Not 100% on that though Smiley smile

Snap! Our date is 21st June too, hope that all the planning is going well for you!

I've been designing our invites and thinking of sending them out early next year. We only have 28 for the day so they shouldn't need much chasing up but any hotel rooms need to be booked by us and since we don't have exclusive use the hotel will need to know fairly soon so that they can open the rest of the rooms up for booking.

I have to start thinking about getting a florist booked soon but at the moment I just can't decide what I want!

Exciting times Chloe24! You must be like me and work better under pressure!!

Well, I have a step daughter and we wanted her to be part of the day so she is one of my bridesmaids. I've got 3 adult ones and 3 nieces who we also wanted to be part of our day but now people have started commenting on how its going to be "like a royal wedding" I'm not being funny but we are a close family and wanted the only kids that are at our day to feel a part of it! I know its not a big problem but I don't want peoples opinions if I don't ask for them!!

    Are you all organised? xx

If they are who you want have then you have them. Don't let people's opinions put you off or get to you - easier said than done, but it is your day. One of my friends had a coulpe of adults bm's and about 6ish little flower girls n it was actually quite cute seeing them all. How old will yours be?

How far u got with planning? Iv done main things, go invites to do at the end of the year, bridesmaid dresses, suits, table plan, and little bits like music etc.

im quite organised but I get worried n stressed with everything :-/ x

Yeah they are definitely who we want but I don't like people pushing their opinions on me! ha ha. Just being over sensitive I think!

    Little ones will be, 2 x 9 yrs, 1 x 7yr and 1 x 6yr, they'll look gorgeous I think and would be devo'd if I didn't have them on board with me!

I've done really well with the planning, dress, shoes etc done, bridesmaids dresses got here this week (big ones!), invites ready in jan, we had them made locally and they were so cheap and made to order. Flowers booked, photographer booked, cars booked. I've felt like I needed to get on top of things as well because June is so busy so people get booked up quickly! Honestly I get stressed too, then I write a list and everything seems ok! ? ha ha I'm a geek at times!

Do you know your themes/colours etc? xx

Iv done about the same as you Smiley smile hoping to get BMs done in feb time. We are having cadbury purple with hints of yellow - yellow flowers and hints on the cake. Don't really have a theme as such. We are having a Paris theme tableplan as we got engaged in Paris so having the table names as the places we visited Smiley smile what about you?

If you don't mind me asking how much we're your invites? I don't really know how much to budget for. We're abouts do you live? I'm in Sussex, south east xx

There's plenty of time, we are just super organised!

Your colour theme sounds beautiful, we are having lemon and dusky pink. Our theme is quite country bumpkin if you know what I mean?!! With a vintage feel to it. Your engagement sounds amazing! very lucky! We were on a beach in Newquay, and camping and festivals are our thing so table names are our favourite stages at Glastonbury!!!

Right, don't get me wrong, the invitations weren't what some people would call cheap but after looking at some they were more than half the price. They have cost us £120 for 35 including envelopes, RSVP and envelopes and x2 inserts with directions and hotels etc. And she was great, we picked everything on them, she does lace, pearls, diamonds, organza literally anything you can imagine she can do. I live in Lancashire, just outside of Manchester/Bolton xx

Ooh thanks for bumping this post, I'd missed it first time round.

I'm the first June bride,..eek! 1st June,.. I make that a 145 day countdown, that's quite terrifying! I have so much still to do!

To buy: shoes, necklace & earrings, hair decorations!, undies, silk/pearl bouquet & buttonholes

we're marrying in New York so still need to finalise hair & make up. Considering doing my own but need some lessons first!

Also still need to decide on a restaurant to go to for our meal, have so many recommendations, need to sit down and look at menus. I'm so jealous of the rest of you organised students. I'm in my final year and currently on a placement which is soo demanding. All I want to do is sleep when it gets to the weekend!

    ?

Doing pretty well here - ordered our invitations this week and just waiting for them to turn up. Have chosen our rings so will be ordering them next week. Sorted a discounted hotel rate for everyone and booked our room. Arranged meeting at our venue early March to talk food & booze. Bought shoes. Sorted hen night date. Booked mini-moon!

Still to do - buy his suit and the kids outfits. Send invitations. Arrange a date for engagement shoot. Hair. Cardi to wear over dress. Pay for it all. ?

Haven't sorted anything for my hen night either, still trying to find somewhere haha! Got my shoes sorted, still to get some accessories and also the mens & my boys suits...actually dread to think what I've still to do does seem a lot but ticking things off every week so that's good ? & yes the dreaded pay for it all haha!!

    Hello ;-)

I feel fairly organised, but time seems to be flying by so quickly since we hit 2014!

I am with you on the exercising front MM3, I am trying to lose some weight before my dress starts getting made in April so hitting the gym quite a lot!

I have got my wedding ring, booked our engagement shoot for Good Friday and booked in the dates for mine and my bridesmaids dress fittings ;-) Plus we have sent out our invitations!

Still got to get OH's wedding ring and he still has to sort his suit and get a new passport so we can book the train between Niagara Falls and New York for our honeymoon!

Florist booked and deposit paid - visiting them in person soon to discuss details.

Hair & Make up booked and deposit paid and trial next month

Sample wedding rings ordered, shoudl be here in the next week and then we can finalise. I'm still in a quandry over engraving.

    Hello everyone! I'm a June 7th bride =D

So far sorted venue, church, dress, groom's outfit, transport, dj, flights to UK, accommodation and mini-moon in Edinburgh.. err that doesn't sound like much I must have missed something!

My problem is that I live abroad but I'm getting married in the UK, so I can only organise things when I'm in the country! I'm back in March for 4 days and chok-a-block with appointments with the florist, photographer, caterers, dress fitting, hair... etc! Actually in some ways it's nice not being in the country, I don't feel stressed at all because I can't do anything here! I can save my stressing time for being in England ?

    Hello fellow June brides ?

    How are we getting on?

    Any updates or flashes?

I've had my hair & make up trials last week and going to give notice tomorrow, also got favours and some little bits n bobs in. Getting there slowly.

And still paying everything off obviously which is the boring part ?

Hope everyone's excited, not long to go!!

    Hello ?

I am starting to get a bit stressed now that we are getting so close!

I am having a bit of a bridesmaid dress crisis; the plan was originally to get their dresses made by the lady who is making my dress but this fell through. So at about the three months mark and I started looking for high street dresses and it hasn't been going very well so far ? My two bridesmaids both live in different places and considerable distances from me so I keep ordering them options online and getting them posted out to them but we are on about the tenth option now and still not found one that meets with their approval!

I've got two new options ordered at the moment though so fingers crossed one of these is suitable!

Were you pleased with your hair and make up trials?

I am going make up shopping at the weekend with my FMIL and FSIL and then the following Saturday me and my bridesmaids have our hair trials; super excited for that ?

Ordered OH's wedding ring last week of Etsy and just had an email to say it has been dispatched so super excited for it to arrive ;-)

Nothing new to flash though unfortunately!

I am making progress! Like you said MM3 the paying bit is boring!

I have got my wedding guest book. This week l ordered my veil and cake toppers from the Kharv. Today l booked the parking for the airport for our wedding and honeymoon, not very exciting but the cab quote of £200 return put the fear of god into me!

I'm the same with the stress, feeling like it's going in a bit too quickly and getting a bit panicky!

Oh god hope your BM's like the dresses like one of the new options for them.

Yeah i liked the trials and the lady was lovely, put us all at ease so thats a relief as i was worried we'd get someone bossy or too loud haha. I had little bits of hair down at the back though and i think i'm going to have her put it all up on the day but should be fine hopefully ?
One of my BM's cancelled on me though a few days before so she's just having hers done on the day, so she'll have to just like it on the day ?

Hope you enjoy your shopping trip and have a lovely day with your BM's with the trials Smiley smile

Ooh exciting, i've not even ordered our rings yet haha will have to get them soon!

We went with one like this but a bit more sparkly:

To be fair it is £200 return to the airport but still too much. It is about 70 miles each way

I'm feeling a bit disorganised at the mo!

    recently sorted:

    ESTA applications (marrying in NYC)

necklace & earrings (OH got them as a treat! Gorgeous pearls from chez bec)

    silk bouquet & buttonhole

    Still to sort:

    underwear

    something blue!

    suitcase!!

    Hair accessory

make up lesson (aiming for something simple that I can replicate!)

shoes (having a wobble about the red pair I bought! Also fallen in love with every pair of Rachel Simpson shoes but they're too high for my Bambi legs)

.... Bound to have forgotten something!

    Hi Ladies!

I'm getting married in June as well! we brought our wedding forward, I was meant to be the 7th of March 15 but we brought it forward to the 7th of June this year. It was for my Sister in Law who was terminally ill with ovarian cancer, we brought it forward on the 19th of February after being told that she may not make it to the end of the year, but devestatingly on the 21st of February she passed away.

So to bring it back to a happier note, we have left the wedding on the 7th of June, it has been an absolute scramble to get everything ready, but I have only now to pay for the car and that's everything done! It's been a mad few months getting it all organised but I feel I'm about there, I had my last fitting last Friday for my dress wish was awesome! Smiley smile

    44 days to go!! eek!

So sorry to hear about your SIL. My mother died of ovarian cancer, it is such a devastating disease. I hope the wedding is a really joyful occasion and you can celebrate and remember her. ?

I am also 7th June and HOLY CRAP it's really soooooooooon! I have just read my previous post on this thread, written in February, and realised that I have made precisely zero progress since then. Still so much to do!

So sorry to hear about your sister in law. Hopefully the wedding can be a joyous occasion for you. My OH's Mum passed away almost a year to the day ago, so I know how it feels to be planning a wedding in such difficult circumstances

We are also 7th June! Im feeling relatively calm about it all. We had a final meeting at our venue last night I have my dress fitting next Friday, followed by my hen weekend which I know nothing about! My OH had a bit of a reality check yesterday when he realised how close everything is.

I'm doing all of our stationary bits myself, so I have a few evenings of printing and cutting ahead of me to do the place settings etc. But apart from paying final balances, everything is ready to go! SO EXCITED!!!!!
