Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

I'm so glad you changed your name Victoria - I get very confused with all the luxurious colours of things on here!

Your venue is stunning - where is that? Love the bridesmaid dresses too x

I'm glad I never got given one of those random usernames.....I would have ended up with nothing sunny, or luxurious....more likely I would have been known as

    SoggyBrownTeacloth

    or something similar.....

I think today at least I'd be Grumpy Scotish Nanny! Roll on 6pm - this has been the longest week. I think last weekends high jinks have caught up with me ?

Ooh, nammy, an exciting day indeed! I remember when my invites arrived in the office.....I had to really work hard to resist opening them before I got home, as I really wanted it to be a joint opening with H2B! Bet you can't wait to see them in real life! Do you keep trying on your wedding ring?

My memory charms were sent out yesterday - am hoping they will be at home by the time I get home from work.

I look forward to your flashes - I'm planning on doing mine next weekend when we hit the 6 month mark.....then I can't wait until next Sunday to see a 5 in the ticker!!! So excited!

I tried it on in the shop and then again when i got home to show H2B but as it was spinning class last night aswell there wasnt much time to try it again.

Although im sure that over the coming months i will be trying it on lots and lots!! I may have to hide it though!! Seeing it next to my ER made me realise how much it needs a polish and clean before the wedding.

Ive got 2 and half weeks off for Christmas (only 14 days left in work this year!!) so im planning to write the invites while im off and then post them all out mid January.

I had my ER sized (finally) a few weeks ago, and they did a proper clean of it before handing it back - I hadn't realised how much difference it made, so I have made a note to get it done again before the wedding so that everything is all sparkly and shiny! We've left our rings at the shop, though, because we know we will keep trying them on if they are at home. We're trying to resist collecting them until the week of the wedding......aaarrrgggghhhhh!!!!

Lucky you having so much time off! My H2B works as a retail manager so time off over Christmas is nigh on impossible - he is in on Christmas Eve, off on Christmas Day then back to work on Boxing Day! So I don't see the point of me taking any extra time off over the festive period, as we won't see each other anyway! We do have a holiday mid-January to look forward to, so look forward to that instead.

I will just be having the standard Bank Holiday and weekend dates.....but I'm still grateful for that and very much look forward to it! But, oh to have 2 weeks + off! Dreams are made of it haha!!

I've got an appt with my florist tomorrow morning to sort out my bouquets and those for my BMs.....I've got plenty of pictures on pinterest to show her, just need to narrow it down a bit and make a decision!!! (and then stick to said decision!).

How annoying re the dress, but keep trying, and one will turn up. The dress I originally bought for my daughter was not what I wanted, but we could not get one in the colour I preferred and the size (size 6, bah!!) that she needed, that we both liked. So we plumped for second best on an "it will do" basis.

Then I stumbled through House of Fraser, as you do, and found it on a sale rail - size 6, only one available (not even online)...I'd resigned myself to the original dress, but when I took the new one home, she loved it, and she looks stunning.

So don't give up the hunt, check every day, get on as many search engines as you can, blah blah blah, and one will turn up for you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and also for your great big venue hunt this weekend!!!

I'll keep checking the Monsoon website. She doesn't like the dress though but I want her to wear that one as it's the only one I've seen I like and I know she'll look beautiful in it (teenagers grrr!!) I wish I'd got it when I saw it in the shop but she wasn't with me and I need her to try it on, had no time this week at all

Got a meeting next weekend to look at a hotel venue, nothing special but would be a lot less hassle to do it there than the current venue and they have our date available! Smiley laugh I'm just glad we changed to a church wedding now because at least we'll have one really beautiful venue for part of the day lol

Keep checking ebay too - you never know, someone else might have bought one that was wrong and that they never sent back (sort of thing I would do)....that you might get for a bargain price brand new!

So I survived wedding dress shopping and the shop was as snooty as everyone had said - thankfully the lady I had understood perfectly the style I was going for and didn't try to push me shame cannot be said for one of her collegues!

Our lady was running 10 minutes late - fine didn't bother me so was told with my friend to have a browse around the main floor - again no problem there. But one of her collegues then came over to us and said I have clients here for this time your not allowed to browse the dresses and do you have an appointment?! We very politely stated we were waiting for our appointment on the corture floor to which we got a fake smile and please got to reception area - no apology for her tone etc

I then had a lovely lady (all be it not the best time keeper) which went pretty well until 10 minutes before the end when rude lady came back stating her 11.30 was here at this point I was half in and half out of a final dress. I try it on quickly then as I'm getting re-dressed and having a discussion with my lady about the different fabrics of my two favourites rude lady appears again and states your 11.30 is waiting you need to leave these people now......

Now I wouldn't of been bothered but we started 10 minutes late ergo we will run into the other appointment, rude lady acted, behaved and looked at us in such a way that I wanted to slap her in the face with a wet fish. I was only trying on styles but the way her collegue behaved I would have actually gone to another stockist rather then have the thought of dealing with them!

I thanked our lady and in ear shot of her rude collegue said you were lovely and made me feel very at ease, it's a shame not everyone here can take the same approach you do - then left!

I really don't understand why people feel the need to be so rude - we all appreciate that appointments should be kept to time as far as possible, but it really shouldn't spoil your time unless absolutely necessary - after all, you could be there ready to spend thousands, literally, with them. I'm with you and would have sourced my dress from elsewhere if I had found "the one" - even if that involved a couple of hours travelling to another stockist! Grrr....well, at least you don't have to go back there, or were expecting (or hoping) to actually buy your dress over the weekend.

I got my memory charms delivered on Saturday - beautiful (I've flashed them on a separate thread) and sorted out bouquets for me and my bridesmaids . I've been to the florist before to sort out flowers, but we have since changed the BM dresses, so the whole colour scheme then needed a re-think. When I went first time round, it was fun, but I took it all in my stride. This time, my hands were shaking as I was going through the photo folders.....the fact that it is all so much closer, and all so much more real has obviously kicked in! This time round, I could actually imagine myself in my dress, with my bouquet walking down the aisle....amazing feeling, and we still have six months to go!

But we are in December - that's one month closer to June lovely ladies!!!

Nammy - lovely flashes! I love your dress and your earrings & tiara are really pretty. I think a very simple chain with a small pearl or diamond would be a good choice for a necklace as there's quite a lot of detail already on your dress that you don't want to detract from. Even no necklace would work for me - less is more!

Oo-er..... If I hadn't seen Kimiu's thread already I might have taken this as quite a saucy post!!! ?

I agree, something quite simple and elegant would be sufficient. The dress is so beautiful, it really doesn't need anything to take over!

I keep looking at the picture of me in the shop sample, that I have on my phone. I just cannot wait until I get the chance to wear it for real! No more wedding news from me, though - I'm holding on until next week when I might start getting fidgety about sending invitations......

Thank you ladies, i think im leaning more towards not wearing a necklace with my dress, youre both right that my dress should make the statement and not a piece of jewellery. Plus it saves me having to search for something that would look right. I also tend to play with my necklace when i get nervous, which wouldnt be a good look while getting married!!!

Kimiu - ive just seen the little flash of you in your dress on the thread about 2 piece wedding outfits, you look stunning!!

I am also itching to get writing our invitations, but that is a job for my Christmas holidays. Although this morning at work i did do a mail merge and created labels for all the envelopes so i dont have to write out all the addresses!!!

Yes, if you are a necklace fiddler, then perhaps best to do without! Your dress really is gorgeous enough without, and the sparkle is created elsewhere already.

Thanks for the comment about my dress - I love it, and cannot wait for H2B to see it on the day! It is 8 months since I ordered it, 6 months to go......!!

My invites are written and ready to send or hand out. I think that once we hit the 6 month mark (this weekend!!) I will find it very difficult to refrain from sending them, although I am trying to wait until just after Christmas. Perhaps I need to lock them away somewhere for the next few weeks!

Perhaps keep telling yourself that its best to wait til after Christmas as the post will be sooo busy due to it being christmas, and also you guests will get something super exciting just after the New Year to cheer them up.

That's the plan - if they are anything like me, they will put it to one side if they get it before Christmas and then forget about it.....I know I will have to chase up some people anyway, but the fewer that have lost it in the Christmas wrapping paper, the better!

I'm thinking the period between Christmas and New Year....or certainly no later than the first week in January. Our RSVP date is end of Feb to give time to chase up before the venue need final numbers in March.

Then it REALLY will be real!!!
