Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

xxx

That must be so frustrating! You've still got a couple of weeks before he will be back to give you a decision, too, haven't you? Keep calm.....(gin helps), and my fingers are completely crossed for you!

It's very frustrating, he's back on the 23rd, I just hate waiting lol. I'm distracting myself with other things now, flowers, invitations etc and looking at honeymoons! Smiley laugh

Positive thinking - ask the Universe to help. Visualise walking down the aisle of the church towards your H2B and the vicar.....you never know, the positive vibes may just work their way through to him and help him decide that it is the perfect place for you to be wed!!

As for distractions - I think honeymoon planning is the PERFECT one!!!

Thank you! Smiley smile I'm just nervous he might say no, rules of the church are to say no to being divorced from a person who is still living. I've not met our vicar as we don't go to that church at the moment so I'm hoping he's nice and I'm trying to stay positive.

So many places to choose from for the honeymoon but I love to drool over them all lol

I read your 'giving notice' thread, very informative and I'm pleased it all went so well for you

Thanks - it was quite nice - I took a half day off work, so we gave notice, grabbed a coffee, then went down to London and had dinner and saw a concert at the Royal Festival Hall. Was a lovely way to spend a day together. Getting back at gone 2am and having a 6am alarm for work, though, was not so great.....today is powered by the power of Caffeine!!!

My friends have both been divorced, with exes that are still living, and got married in a CofE church last month, although I appreciate it varies from parish to parish and clergy to clergy. I'm Methodist and H2B's family are Salvation Army, so both those would allow us to marry in Church if we wanted to, even though I am divorced. There were, however, elements that we didn't feel entirely comfortable with, so opted for the civil ceremony instead which we are very relaxed about and very much looking forward to!

The fact that they can refuse on the grounds of having been married before shows there is still a stigma to being divorced. So unfair. I gave my marriage vows first time round in good faith (in a CofE church as ex was CofE), and gave my all for 20 years of marriage before he left. I took my vows seriously then, and will take them seriously this time round. Marriage is not taken lightly, and the church should recognise that fact, and that good intention, and allow you to marry there.

Right, off my soap box now......and back to thinking positive thoughts for you!!!

? invitations ordered this evening, we are not very arty and are on a tight budget so was chuffed when Vistaprint had a 50% off invitations until the 16th of September all ordered with RSVP's envelopes etc

Feeling a lot better now I have the big things out of the way including our notice to marry.

Just home from a wedding show at our venue....although we've got most things booked already it was still really useful. We sorted out our gift list registration with John Lewis, agreed on the centerpieces with the florist, talked to the MUA at the spa at the hotel who will come to my room and do my make up for just £30 and bits and pieces like that. A few more bits ticked off the list Smiley smile

oh, and our rings have arrived....we will go and try them on Tuesday....eeeek!!

    Yeah hoping everything goes ok.

Cake tasting was brilliant, but now OH can't find his birth certificate for the registrar tomorrow so am stressing a teeny tiny little bit.

Has he found his birth certificate yet?

We've just been to try on our wedding rings, and they are beautiful!! Had to resist bringing them home because I know we will both want to keep sneaking them on over the next 8 months or so, and then they won't be new and shiny on the day!

It's another thing properly off the list, though - other than picking them up closer to the time, and as the jewellers is only around the corner from my office, I can easily do that in a lunch hour.

I want June to be here NOW!!!!!

Don't wear the rings!!! haha. I bet they are amazing and in nine months you can wear them every day.

    Hello,

I'm getting married 20th June 2015 at 1pm at a Manor House Hotel in Northamptonshire.

We have had the venue booked since January this year, so have been planning a while now!

I have two bridesmaids and my OH has 1 best man and 3 ushers.

The colour scheme is neutral with pastel colours being used in the flowers - pinks, peach, blue - I don't like things too matchy matchy!

My bridesmaids are wearing full length champagne coloured dresses.

We have our photographer booked along with our cake, DJ, florist, make up artist and my dress has been ordered.

Our honeymoon will be in Mexico, we went in 2009 which was our first 'far-away' holiday together and we loved it so much we cant wait to go back!

    xx

I was emailed by my wedding coordinator yesterday who invited us to make an appointment to do a menu tasting so we can put the choices in with the invites. I'm not sure if it's too early to do this but hey ho it's a free sunday dinner lol Smiley winking

Ooh, I can't wait to do our tasting.....we have to wait until Jan/Feb. Mind you, we have opted for just the one choice (other than veggie/special diets) so won't need to put a list of options in with the invites.

    Enjoy every mouthful!

I've just had the email from John Lewis saying our gift list is set up, so I can include the reference with our invites. We can't add anything to the list until nearer the wedding date, so it is pretty empty, but at least it is there ready for us to fill with goodies!!

Ours is in December but we are having a Paella man - he is driving from Brighton to Cambridgeshire for free to give us our tasting - 8 different vegetarian ones to try!

We booked our honeymoon last weekend, I'm so excited 2 weeks in Bali at 3 different places 2 days after the wedding ?

We get 3 choices apparently but I'm a little confused. Here's the email

As, you know you are entitled to a wedding taster of up to three choices for each course (2 course wedding breakfast) free of charge (normally booked on a Sunday lunchtime)

This is the perfect opportunity to try out your chosen menu before making a final decision and sending out the three options for each course to your guests for them to choose from.

Do we try 3 different choices each or between us or...?

    Lol Dragoneye, sure Smiley winking

Bali sounds lush Sarah!! We don't have a massive budget for our honeymoon but H2B fancies Crete. I fancy south of France as it's not too far to go and I'm not overly keen on flying!

Have you looked at Sardinia? Not as far as Crete but also an Island. I was keeping an eye on Secret Escapes for nice deals but ended up booking via Keoni as we have a JL gift list and you can get vouchers if you opt for it. Ironically our wedding is quite a small-medium budget (6K) so we could splash out on honeymoon.
