Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

xxx

Sorry, i wrote a long post but it only seemed to show the first few words!!

We are going to Santorini! Can't wait... two weeks of nothing!

I'm concerned that you all seem to have your invites, i haven't even started to think about them, when is everyone planning on sending them out?

We only ordered ours because it was 50% off Vistaprint! Weren't going to send them until February - we need to know numbers for transport booking and camping.

There are some really expensive places in Santorini. When i was in the travel agent she looked at one hotel and in total it was over £5000. I was like... mmmmm think that is a little over what i was thinking! Problem is OH is 6'7" so he needs extra leg room on plane and as seen it is our honeymoon thought i should probably sit next to him - i normally sit in the cheapest seats whilst he sits in 'premium economy' - or business class as he once got a free upgrade!

Pleased you havent sorted your invites out either!

We wanted Sardinia but flights were not on the days we needed. So we are going to Venice, Sorrento and Rome instead. I cannot wait!!

We were lucky in that we both knew instantly where we wanted to go. We couldn't get Sardinia in the mix so will go there for our first anniversary instead Smiley smile

Oh, now that IS an exciting date to get in the diary. Well done on the weight loss so far, and what an incentive you have for the next 6 months! I'm unable to exercise as much as I would like at the moment due to an injury, so am trying to monitor my food intake a little more carefully. The idea is that I will be good Mon-Fri and then not worry about the weekends so much. I don't *need* to lose much, if any, weight really, but I have been much bigger in my time, and know that if I am not careful, I will be right back there. I don't have scales at home so don't know what I weigh on a daily basis, but I DO know that my wedding dress will not be very forgiving!!!

My friends got married at the weekend, and it is 15 months since he proposed to her, which is the same length of time that H2B and I had.....it only seems 5 mins ago that they got engaged, and now they are on honeymoon!!! It will be our turn before we know it!

Not much real wedding planning happening at this end for a few days - although when I was at my friends' wedding at the weekend, I was spending quite a bit of time thinking "ooh, that's a good idea" or "nope, I'm glad we are doing it our way".....! Theirs was very different to ours, so it was rather nice in a way!

Thank you.... i lost 1 stone by my self and then i joined slimming world for a kick up the bum and support. So hopefully it will continue to work. Although i am easily tempted by all the foods i shoudnt eat but i allow myself 1 or 2 evenings 'off' a week otherwise i would go mad!

we are going to earls court wedding show this friday, so H2B can decide on suits. Ive been to a few wedding shows by myself so this is really for H2B to experience it and make some decisions etc.

Have you looked at/tried myfitnesspal ? It is superb if you are trying to keep track of things, without being too "diet-y" if that makes sense. I use it just to make sure that my portion sizes are appropriate for the level of activity I am (or am not) doing!

Its really easy because if you have a bar code on a product, you just scan it on your phone and it loads all the nutritional values straight to your daily diary....dead easy when grabbing lunch at work, and no excuses not to log everything!

I've got the app on my phone which I use most of the time, then keep the page open on my PC at work to make sure that any sneaky snacks at work don't get missed.

? feeling quite pleased with myself after this weekend's activities! Managed to get all the gift list cards written, invites arrived (they won't go out til next year but at least here) and went car boot shopping and got a load of stuff for the reception including swing top bottles, heart box candle holder, 3 teapots (for blackcurrent gin and lemonade) and plates for £10! Now over 2/3's there with crockery and decorations ?

Another few bits done.....samples of table confetti have arrived today so I can choose whether to order more, or whether it is an extravagence I can really avoid.

Another item for my Groom's present box (I try to pick up one bit each month on payday!)

Make up and nails booked for the wedding, including the make up trial, and a couples massage for the following day before we go on honeymoon.

Gift list details written on the cards from John Lewis ready to go in with the invitations (when I have gotten around to addressing the envelopes).

Nothing major, but all helping to get organised and not stressed!

Hope you're all doing alright, ladies!

Today I have been back to the bridal shop and tried my dress on again for the 3rd time! My mum wanted to see it :-) I also have an extra addition to our bridal party, my 4 year old niece is going to be our flower girl which will be perfect because our pageboy is the same age. I may have also found the 2 older bridesmaid dresses so all in all it's been a productive day even if my mum doesn't like my wedding shoes! :/

So I had a productive weekend... H2B and I picked out and ordered my wedding ring, he couldn't decide on his one though but we still got 20% off the price of mine. It a plain band with slight shaping to fit around my ER.

Also one of my MOH tried on her dress and it's perfect!!!

H2B also picked out some suits to try on at a couple of shops. So he will do that in the next couple of weeks.

Been a very busy weekend this weekend. Can you tell it's payday.

    Paid deposit on venue

    Bought wedding shoes

Bought wedding flowers.... what do you think? They have been custom made for me

    Also bought tiaras.

Need to get a wedding box for all this stuff. Where did everyone get theirs?

Odds and ends done for us this weekend, but all helping to pull it all together.....

The hotel we are getting married at have recommended a lady to do wedding hair, and I have spoken to her, and she is available for our date, so a cheque has been sent to her for her deposit.

The sashes have been chosen for the chair covers at the ceremony and reception.

Cake tasting, round 2, has been done and our three layers have been chosen - red velvet, chocolate fudge, and lemon.

table confetti has been bought - its only a little thing, but it is something that no longer needs to be thought of!

Appointment has been made to meet with our TOGs (who we do already know, and have booked, but haven't yet sat down with to discuss everything!) for a couple of weeks' time.

Envelopes have been written for those invites that we have addresses for, ready for posting in a couple of months time.

So, as you can see, little things but all helping just to keep the stress levels manageable!

Also, starting a 7 week food/exercise blitz today, as for the 7 weeks following that, everything will be out of the window - starting with my birthday and ending at new year....so trying to get "in credit" so that I don't have that last 3 month panic that my dress won't do up! Wish me luck!!

Oh, and dragoneye, I got my wedding storage boxes from Hobbycraft - just clear plastic tubs with lids. Not expensive and usable after the wedding too.

That's why I have not flashed a picture of MY dress....because I want to keep it as much of a secret as I can, although part of me really really wants to show H2B NOW so that he understands why I cannot be fed cake like it is going out of fashion!

But I think if it was something else in my plans, and I was trying to source it without much luck, then I would take that risk. You can always edit your post later to take the link/photo out if you like?

I'd love to show my H2B a picture of mine but I want to see his face when I walk down the aisle and he sees it for the first time. I tried my dress on again at the weekend and if I put on 1 more ounce I won't get my hips in it next year lol

I've not yet had my first fitting - not due in until after Christmas - what a time to have to squeeze into your wedding dress, after several weeks of devouring all things yummy! I really am going to have to keep an eye on what I eat and how much exercise I do this winter. I do NOT want to stand there at my first fitting and cry....it is NOT AN OPTION!
