Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

    Hi,

I've booked my wedding for August 2015 and so now I'm busy organising the day. I'm not very creative so I'm anxious about all the little details and making sure it all fits together. In the hope of getting some inspiration I'm going to a wedding show in Hertfordshire on 29th October at Hatfield House. There will be a catwalk showcasing local retailers as well as other suppliers, including John Lewis who have now teamed up with Kuoni. They'll also be a glass of fizz and canapes. I can't wait!!

If anyone else is interested you can buy your tickets using this link - http://stalbansfashionweek.com/?p=19395

Had another weddingy weekend, went to look a suits with an independant shop near us, H2B looked rather handsome in the suit he picked.

So we have chosen a nice blue 3 piece suite (no tails) with ties to contract against the dresses.

one more thing ticked off the list!!

Yay, Nammy! A very big thing ticked off the list. My H2B is having a blue 3 piece too. It looks amazing so far (still got final alterations to be done nearer the time), but is a beautiful colour. The other men in the bridal party are choosing/using their own suits so I will give them a gentle nudge after Christmas so that the results of the festive indulgences don't hang around too long!!

We did get a swatch of the fabric from the tailor on Saturday, as my previously very relaxed mismatched colour scheme is now quite formal and matching ?. So we took the swatch and managed to get my daughter her BM shoes, beautiful Kurt Geigers, in the same colour.

My previous urge for red shoes has pretty much gone - when I went to the wedding dress shop on Friday to see the shop sample with different shoes etc, the colour didn't work as well as it did in my head. But, instead, the midnight blue of the suit and the oyster of the dress DOES look really good, so now I am on the hunt for a pair of amazing shoes in exactly the right shade of blue for me too. I know I can get dyeable shoes, but I'd quite like a pair of sparkly Louboutins or something "once in a lifetime".....I'm not going to rush into it, but am quite aware that my dress fitting will need to include THE pair of shoes, as the difference in heel height may be considerable, so I don't want to leave it too late.

Also, this weekend, I had my usual hair cut and colour appt (have it done every 5 weeks) and have started the process of not having so much cut off (my hair is bobbed) so that the wedding hairdresser has enough hair to play with for my veil etc. So next month, I am having the colour, and NO CUT. EEEEEKKKKKK......another thing I said I wouldn't do!!! This wedding is seeping into my pores ahahaha!!!

    Happy Monday everyone!

I also wanted a pair of sparkly louboutins, but although i could go and buy them I would be too scared to wear them after the wedding incase i ruined them. So i went for a pair of blue Vivienne Westwood Melissa shoes that also have a pink bow on them that matches with the bridesmaid dresses, and they are comfy so I know I will wear them after the wedding.

Ooh, almost a shoe twin then!!

Problem I am having is that I can't find genuine Louboutins that are sparkly - plenty of the fake versions (at a fraction of the price) but how difficult is it to find originals!!!!!!! Gah.

So, I am so so torn. I do know I will wear them again, because I live in LK Bennett 4 inch beauties, and am often at formal functions that can carry off a long dress or cocktail number with appropriate heels, so I can justify the cost. But I just want amazing shoes, that enhance my already amazing bride-ness!!

So, at the moment, my options are

    1. Stick with what I have - they are fine. (not really an option as I have made up my mind I want coloured shoes!)
    2. Buy a pair of Rainbow Club (or similar) shoes and have them dyed to the perfect colour. Comfortable, colour matched, but perhaps a bit "sensible"?
    3. Buy a pair of Fake but very lovely looking marine blue Louboutins....and hope they are comfortable enough. Also, to hope I don't regret the idea of not buying originals as this is my only real time I can justify spending that much on shoes (I spend enough as it is!)
    4. Hope for a miracle of original Louboutins that are similar to reveal themselves. I'm happy to pay the price, but for the right shoes.
    5. Buy a pair of Badgley Mischkas or similar, that can definitely be "bridal" but are a bit more elegant (wrong word, but you hopefully get the idea) than the rainbow club shoes.

I am in danger of becoming a shoe-zilla......

Ladies you're all doing so well with your planning! :-) I on the other hand have done no wedding planning for what feels like ages!

I need to ask a question though about travelling abroad. If I wanted a multi destination honeymoon, for example, a week in tenerife and a week in gran canaria, how do I go about booking the flights to get between each country?

You have had many other things to be thinking of recently!! You are probably just as organised as the rest of us!

I booked our honeymoon flights directly with British Airways, but checked prices on Opodo and Skychecker (or Skyscanner) first. You can put your multi-destinations in there and get all the different airlines on one page so you can work out timings and costs etc.

Or just google "flights from tenerife to Gran Canaria" and see what crops up!

Kimiu: Keep an eye out for the louboutins but give yourself a cut off date, that's what i did with the Pronovias veil i wanted, amazingly one appeared. If its meant to be it will happen Smiley smile best of luck hope you find a pair..

Not really done much wedding stuf this weekend. well i say that but now i think about it i did do a few bits. Friday evening i mocked up our formal invites and i have to say they look stunning if i say so myself, there are more pages but you get the idea Smiley smile

Saturday myself and and SIL2b went and collected the arch for the entrance of the venue which im going to dress with fairy lights and flowers. Something similar to this:

Sunday i went to see my seamstress and the alterations can still be done!!!! Yippppeee!!!! Although iv been told i cant lose any more weight Smiley sad

Sunday afternoon I spent modelling for one of the local bridal shops at a local wedding fair, best one iv done so far had such a giggle with the girls who do it with me, and its a great excuse to strut around in stunning dresses for the day Smiley smile

Hope you have all had a great weekend Smiley smile

Lol not organised at all. I'll have a google when I get home from work.

Lots on my mind lately but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. House sale has almost gone through now, should be completed within 2-3 weeks which is a relief because it releases much needed funds! :-)

I have just had a week's holiday in Spain though and I left all my problems in the UK to come home to lol ;-)

Rusticbride - all looking good - the arch is beautiful!

FutureMrs B - oh how I could do with a week in Spain! We didn't have a summer holiday this year (although we were lucky enough to go skiing twice in the winter, so I'm not hard done by) as with the wedding and the need for a new sofa etc, we couldn't really justify it (says she looking at stupid price shoes!). And boy have we missed it - we are both exhausted and could really do with that time away from it all! Will make the honeymoon even more necessary than it already is!

Shoes news - I have some!! Maybe it will be another reserve pair, but they are actually rather nice. The link only shows them in Silver but I have them in a beautiful Navy. They're comfortable, wearable, and if I do find the ultimate pair, I haven't spent oodles of money on this pair.

The danger was that it was going to take over my thoughts - I have work to do and cannot afford for my head to be invaded with these extra things! Sounds silly, but I am sure you all know where I am coming from!!

    /john-lewis-exposed-peep-toe-court-shoes/p****

    Picture doesn't do them justice.

Kimiu - I hope that didn't sound like I was bragging, I wasn't at all. Holiday was booked before the wedding plans started

Love your shoe choice, they're really nice :-) I'm on the hunt for another pair but I'm limited, I need ones that have a strap across them. Am yet to search for any!

Oh gosh no, not bragging at all. Like I say, we are hardly hard done by as we had two amazing ski holidays this year. So, stop worrying right now!!

I'm pleased with the shoes - still perhaps a bit of a safe option, but I don't want to be stupid, on a whim, and I do want to be able to wear them all day. A good compromise. I've seen some good photos on pinterest of wedding pictures focusing on coloured shoes, so am looking forward to a couple of those as a bit of fun on the day, and have already mentioned it to my Tog so they can be ready. The KGs I bought for my daughter at the weekend have a strap across them. She usually wears flats but wants to wear heels. The strap just makes her walk so much more confidently.

Forgot to mention, we did our wedding speech bingo cards yesterday, and bits and pieces like the bathroom basket notices, and the memory table frame. I also managed to snaffle a picture of H2B's mum and another of his dad for my memory charms on my bouquet. Just need to get them scanned in somehow and off to the lady what makes...

I really do feel like it is all coming together nicely. MoH has had her first scan today - and her due date moved slightly.....to 2 days after the hen do that she insists on organising for me!!! I've asked if we can have a pre-hen hen do to accommodate this - even just a girlie lunch and spa session without the wider group of girls, to include her mum and my mum etc might be in order.

Ooh, good news all round then - honeymoons being booked and niggly dress issues being resolved. Hurrah for all things lovely and weddingy!!!

I've found a VOG - we weren't going to have one due to the ever increasing budget, but I found one that will do from half an hour before the start, to an hour after the end of the ceremony. This will cover a bit of general mingling and the confetti being thrown, and we don't need video of the speeches and first dance, which will be done by all and sundry on their phones instead. So, a reasonable compromise.

I've also paid for the extortionately priced table numbers we have opted for. H2B proposed when we were skiing. Skiing is a huge part of our lives so we decided we wanted Piste marker signs for our table numbers. Short of stealing them from the side of the actual pistes, we had to order some in. We tried making some but they were pants, so were going to be a false economy, so we ordered some this week. Rather more money than regular numbers in frames, but so very US and very relevant. Many of our guests are from the ski world so it won't be lost on them Smiley smile

Other than that, nothing to report....although I am starting to fret that my lack of exercise these last few weeks is going to show. Time is getting ever closer now, and I keep thinking that with Christmas around the corner I am going to have to work damn hard and be incredibly disciplined once we get to January! EEEK!

RusticBride15: I am using a mini glue gun, got it from Hobby Craft it was only £5. Additional glue costs £2 for a pack. Works really well - and its pink! No I ordered from a site called imagine DIY - I think they cost around 29p each, so hoping I've not got ripped off! Ha-ha.

I think I've been a bit lazy with wedding planning recently! The good news is that we now have all the cups, saucers and side plates done just need to finish off dinner plates and teapots!

I've also been racking my brain about how to do our table names - we met at a kayaking festival and still kayak so wanted to encorporate the idea of river names but I didn't know how to present it. But a 4 hour long meeting this afternoon I had a eurica moment..... still got to run it past the Oh but the idea was to get maps of the river and frame it with name of the river in black caligraphy at the top that way its unique but wont clash with the centre pieces which are wood and jam jars. I think it will look ok?

Hi everyone, I'm getting married on June 20th next year in a marquee on a farm. Only just booked it last month so feeling quite behind with plans especially after reading how organised you all are! So far we have booked venue, made rough idea about what food we would like, booked photographer and registrar, made appointment with florist and going dress shopping this week. Feeling pretty overwhelmed to be honest! Anyone fancy organising mine for me?! ?

Welcome, we are getting married on the 20th June 2015 @1pm, don't worry about it all you'll be fine. I'm pretty much done now andI don't know about anyone else but I'm in limbo.
My dress arrived last week in my size and it still needs taking In, so even though I'm totally in love with it I didn't get to see how real deal as such ?
My sisters bridesmaid dresses are a lovely dusty mint green colour from the Jenny Peckham @ debenhams, the colour really compliments their olive skin. Just stuck on the men now, we've opted for charcoal grey tails but ivory waistcoat and cravat does anyone think it's silly having the groom, best men etc all in the same as I'm struggling to get cravats/ties to match the girls dresses x

Very little in the way of weddingy stuff done by us over the weekend, other than re-discovering my gym mojo, which of course does help with the old "will my dress fit" game!

I don't think there is any hard and fast rule. When I got married first time round, the men hired top hat and tails and all had the same waistcoat and accessories.

This time round, we are a bit less formal and everyone is buying their own or wearing what they already have. Mind you, it is a small wedding party - just the Groom, Best Man, my son who is giving me away, and one Usher. Both our fathers are sadly no longer alive, and with a smallish ceremony there is little need for a large number of ushers.

H2B has got everyone matching ties and pocket squares. Best Man has seen a suit he likes but won't buy it because it is too similar to the Groom's. Neither H2B nor I see that as being a problem AT ALL, especially as he is buying his own suit. He should be able to buy what he likes, and what he will wear again in our opinion, but he is quite adamant that the groom should stand out!

So, everyone has their own thoughts - meaning that what you do for your wedding will be right, whatever you choose to do, whether they are all in the same, or different, or in the same but different!

Hello lovely ladies of June 2015, I hope you are all having a good week.

Silly, I know, but I am stupidly excited about the fact that today marks the half way point between proposal and wedding. I keep singing Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. "Whoooooaaaaaa, we're half way theeeerrrreeeeeee"
