Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

    Hi Ladies

I am a bit late to the party, but I have only just realised that you are all here ?

We are getting married on 20th June at 1pm, it is a beautiful barn venue in Southport and our colours are quite relaxed but I am going for a sort of pastel-y theme with lots of pinks, peach and mint green with a bit of gold thrown in. Ceremony and reception are both in the same place and we have about 75 in the day and 120 in the evening (a bit different to the tiny wedding in Italy I originally wanted!).

So far I have booked venue, caterering, tog, vog, entertainment (spanish guitar for ceremony and drinks reception & DJ for evening) & florist. We have bought our centrepieces, which will be white manzanita trees with candles hanging from them and flowers around the bottom in 3/4 white vases on hessian squares, also bought lots of bits for a sweet table and gerenal decorations and my sister is making the cake. I have 1 bridesmaid and she is wearing full length mint green (I did want pink but she did not suit it at all!), we have bought OH a 3 piece petrol blue suit with brown suit and belt and all of the boys are having their own blue suits that they either already own or are buying for the occassion, we will get them all matching ties and pocket squares, but not sure what colour yet... I did order some pink ones but when we tried them with OH suit it didn't look right, so we are back to the drawing board.

Stationary is currently on order and I am expecting it to be delivered today, which I CANNOT wait for, I have designed it all myself and had it printed online. I sent out save the dates earlier this year and plan to send out invites in february but I need plenty of time to stamp all of the names onto the invites and stamp addresses on the envelopes (beginning to regret this decision already!!).

THE DRESS was ordered in June, expecting it to come into the shop in November ?

Think thats all so far, next thing on the list is rings!

Welcome to the fold Brooksy! Do pop by and keep us updated....I'm loving the sound of your relaxed theme so far....It was very much how ours evolved too and it is lovely that we haven't gotten all stressed about colours!

I hope your stationary is delivered today - nothing worse than being excited and then having a delay in the post or whatever. Do these delivery people not realise how important wedding related stuff is!!! Some days I am practically jumping on my postman expecting a parcel!! Thankfully, I've never actually jumped on him. I might be arrested, and that wouldn't be a good move. Either that, or he might think I am being a bit frisky. And I really don't fancy him....again, not a good move!!

Lucky you, having your dress in any time soon - I've still got another 3 months until mine is in! Motivation to keep off the mince pies over Christmas or what!!!!!

This morning i got an email asking me what mod podge was and why had it arrived on his desk!! I guess i should of told him that ive been ordering and he likely to get a parcel everyday this week!! opps!!

Ok.....just had to google Mod Podge. ?

I thought I was missing out on something vital in wedding world, but as I am not DIYing, it seems not!

So no Mod Podge being delivered here!!

I've had bits and pieces sent to my work address. Everything has to be opened by Compliance first though, so I do think their eyes are rolling somewhat when a parcel with my name on arrives!

I got the mod podge so i could cover my wooden 3d candy bar letters in lots of glitter!! Not really doing much DIY of cutting and sticking!

I think the parcel with the glitter will be arriving at his work tomorrow!!!

Im not sure if his work (he works in finance) opens mail/parcels before they get to him, but imagine their faces seeing all this arrive! A few weeks ago it was scatter crytals and about 100 foam flowers!!

I'm in finance too, and pretty much everything gets opened! Mind you, we all have stuff delivered here, especially in the run up to Christmas, so I'm sure there is not much they've NOT seen. It is just the frequency of mine at the moment!!

Glitter sounds good though - I had table confetti delivered earlier this week, and an A4 poster ready to frame of lyrics from one of our wedding songs. Nothing too outrageous.....but there is time yet!!!

Glad I'm not the only one who had to google it!

We went to ikea at the weekend (twinned with going to the Scottish Aquarium I'm a massive fish geek!) now sorted all bottles for the gin and lemonade - swing top bottles and got some vases which look like milk bottles to have the flowers in on the tablescan't work out whether to add anything to them or not though?

    Invites arrived yesterday ?

They are beautiful and I feel oddly proud of them. I really want to show them to my mum and dad, but also want it to be a nice surprise for them when they get their invite - what do you think ladies? Are you showing anyone your invites before you send them out?

I think I showed anyone that would look at them! Haha! Both set of parents thought it was odd when I said I would be sending them an invite, but I think its nice for them to have one, even just as a keepsake.

I showed my children, but everyone else will have to wait - not that ours are very exciting.....just a Vistaprint job, but I like them, and they say what they need to say!

I'm glad you love yours - I just can't wait to get mine all written (am about 2/3 or the way through) and sent out in a few weeks' time! Then it all really WILL be happening!!!!!

It's November in a couple of days - another month closer to June!!!

I have shown my mum - couldnt resist! But I will still send them one, for a keepsake (and I will be expecting an RSVP from them!).

Kimiu, you are very organised having them mostly written already ?

I wasn't planning on sending them until around february time - am I really behind?

It was one of those jobs ideally suited to a wet Saturday afternoon, to avoid doing the housework!!

I'm torn between sending them out at the beginning of December, or just after Christmas so people have something nice (hopefully) to open after the Post Christmas slump!

I've got an RSVP on them of 28th Feb, though, as our venue need numbers pretty early, and I know I will have to chase some people, so I don't want to be too much later than first week in January. I think I will aim to finish writing them this weekend, then they can be ready to hand out/post as needed. They won't all be going at once - for example, some of H2B's work colleagues he only sees at area meetings so they may have to have theirs earlier than the rest just because he won't see them again for yonks, and he doesn't want to send them to work, if that makes sense.

Yep i completely agree with you Kimiu, we seem to be getting alot of those recently so things are pushing on well Smiley smile

We'v decided to send ours beginning/mid January just so they don't get lost in the Christmas post or mixed up with Christmas stuff at peoples houses and get thrown out by mistake.

Found out yesterday we have our menu tasting in January should be exciting, the food at our venue is amazing so its going to be rather difficult to chose.. Has anyone had it where you chose the menu instead of guests choosing from a list? Did you just leave out the food section in your invitations or would you put what they will be having and also mention that there is a vegetable option available? Im a little confused with this, hopefully the venue should be able to shed some light on it when we go for our tasting..

    ❤️

We have our tasting and choosing on 6th January, and I am really looking forward to it! We are choosing the menu for them - so really, unless they are veggie or have specific dietary needs (eg my Aunt is Coeliac), they will be getting what they are given. We will just choose one starter, one main, one dessert, and one veggie dish. Veggies have to let us know in advance, as do people who need special tweaks to their meals.

Our invites just say "please let us know of any dietary requirements". We won't be telling them what they are having, just in case for some reason it has to change before the day. I really don't need anyone saying "but you said we were having......."! It will be up to them, then, to let me know if they need the veggie option, or can't have dairy or whatever, and it keeps things simple in the kitchen (and the cost down a bit!!).

Same as Kimiu, I have just put 'please let us know of any dietary requirements' on the RSVP, but with our current guest list we only have 1 veggie coming, and no known food allergies, so we should be ok! We will choose 1 for each course and they can like it or lump it! We are tasting on Monday so will hopefully have it nailed down then

Oooo thank you ladies, that makes more sense to be honest and it means I can get everything printed now and I have from now until January to bind them all together, we'v decided on the cheque book style and iv designed all the inserts myself, binding the pages together with twine. (Its ridiculous how many metres of twine iv already gone through and that's without even starting the invites!!)

I'm not on here much lately. I've done no wedding stuff for ages! Life has taken over and become stressful. Selling a house is the biggest thing and hopefully only a week away from completion so once that's out of the way I can start wedding planning again, I don't feel like there is going to be a wedding at the moment because it's been pushed to one side Smiley sad

anyway, happy Friday, hope you're all doing ok Smiley smile

Sorry to read that life is stressful. I moved house as I was going through my divorce - on 23rd December!!! I was soooo determined to have our first Christmas of just me and the kids in our new place, I gave my conveyencers hell in the run up! Thankfully, almost 4 years on, and we are still very happy here - I won't be moving again any time soon!

I hope all goes well for you with completion, and that you can start to enjoy life again a bit more.

I should have made it clearer, it's not me moving it's my ex. We're selling the house we jointly own but my son is moving in with me so I've had to clear out furniture etc in my own home to accommodate him. It's not easy finding space in a 3 bed house when there's 6 children altogether lol

That's my son's birthday! :-) First house I moved into was 19th December and when I left my ex I moved on 9th December! Why can't I do these things in the summer months? ;-)

I'm itching to join in with this thread properly and share updates on my wedding plans...won't be long now!

I know the feeling ThefuturemesB - my other half is selling his house and moving in with me so I'm clearing the place out to get room for his stuff! Plus he wants us to get a house together (a new house) before the wedding - stress!

wedding planning unfortunately having to take a back seat for the moment Smiley sad
