Hi all

My OH and I are getting married on 20th June 2015. We are having a church ceremony at 1.30pm followed by our reception at a golf club with a sit down 3 course meal and evening buffet later! we have 50 daytime and 100 evening guests roughly and will be having a DJ for evening entertainment! Our colour scheme is shades of coral and peach! For centre pieces we are having square vases with pebbles and floating candles!

I think I will probably have an A line gown with veil, tiara and my hair down and wavy! I am hoping to have coral roses for my bouquet and other flowers. I have 5 bridesmaids and hopefully they will be wearing knee length summer dresses in coral or peach!

Not sure about cars yet, might just borrow a friend's or hire a posh taxi lol

Sorry for the information overload but I love hearing about peoples wedding details!

Any other 2015 brides want to share their plans?? ?

xxx

Here's hoping you have a less stressful week to come Mrs B!

I find doing fun wedding stuff when stressed isn't too much like planning and is a welcome distraction - was googling things to do on honeymoon the other day and checked out games fun. The OH has finished with his work now - one friend suggested he took over planning his reaction was amusing!

We sorted more free stuff this week with friend knitting us our cake toppers and a mouse for the cheese cake, sorted out a tasting with the caterer on the 22nd of December (also free) and nearly sorted material for bunting to be made.

We ordered our cake on Saturday, gone for a square 3 tier cake, with red velvet sponge. the pic is our inspiration for how we want it to look.

thankfully a family friend has a cake business so she is making it for us, which has saved us a few hundred pounds!

Happy Monday, everyone - I hope you had a good weekend! We're finally in November.....one month closer to June!!!!! EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!

Yesterday I finished writing the wedding invitations. They're now all ready to be either posted, or hand delivered, so I'm pleased about that. If everyone we have invited attends, we will be over our numbers limit, so is it wrong to hope that some will say they can't come! Ahh, I'm sure it will be fine - it is only the evening we have a potential numbers problem, and although the room itself has a numbers limit, there is a bar immediately next door one side, and a garden immediately next door the other side, so the chances of everyone being in the room at the same time are minimal.

Also bought the baskets for our bathroom baskets. Put in the bits and pieces we have got and they still look a bit sparse, so will be looking for a couple more bits to go in there (or some padding underneath) over the next few days, and then that is another job done.

Other than that, nothing to report. Nammy, the cake looks beautiful - how lucky you are to have someone making it for you saving that much money!

Thank you! picking how we wanted the cake to look was sooo hard! Its the last thing to be ticked off the list! still undecided about cake toppers, H2B wants the mini you ones but are quite pricey, so will have to wait and see about that one.

Now, we just have balances to pays as everthing has a deposit paid on it!

We are planning and booking every detail of our honeymoon ouselves and so far we have booked the first 10days, only another 11 days to plan and book! The whole trip will be 3 weeks in America starting in Miami and finishing in Las Vegas and stopping off in Orlando, San Francisco, Yosemite, and LA

There wont be much wedding planning or prepping for the next few weeks now as its my 30th Birthday in 12 days, H2B told me over the weekend that hes taking me to Edinburgh for my birthday weekend and he has lots of things planned including afternoon tea and meal at a michelin star restaurant. SO excited!!!!!

My daughter offered to make cupcakes for our wedding - she is very good at them and has done them for weddings for people at work before, so I have no doubt about her ability. But, she got very stressed over the last batch she did - I thought they were lovely, but they weren't perfect enough for her, so I decided then and there that I didn't want to put her under that much pre-wedding stress, and we would up the budget for a cake somewhere else.

We found one at a wedding fayre, and thoroughly enjoyed the tastings! All very nice, and in our new budget, so we paid our deposit. Then we went to another fayre, specifically to see this cake lady, and she had another design that I fell in love with.....so now we are having the top two layers of one and the bottom layer of another. I have promised not to look at any more cake designs! I have ordered mini-me cake toppers though.....its an extravegance but was pretty high on my list of must haves. I will struggle not to show H2B when they arrive....I'm sure he will love them,, but of course I don't want to give anything away about my dress, so he will have to wait until the day!

Your honeymoon sounds lovely - we are off to Italy, but again doing it all ourselves. We have flights and accommodation booked so far, and I have plenty of notes for things to be looking at booking ahead of the trip - some will be just a list of things to do when we are there, but some need to be sorted, eg train transfers and a car for the compulsory "look like a 1950s film star Amalfi coast drive"!!! I am guessing that my time in the office between Christmas and New Year, which is traditionally quite quiet at work, can be put to good use.......!

Happy birthday, fellow Scorpio. Mine is on Sunday....but it's just another day. That's what happens when you get to my age!!

Thanks everyone for welcoming me! Had a total meltdown this morning, felt so overwhelmed by everything but luckily my boyfriend set up a spreadsheet so I could prioritise all my tasks and then start delegating! Bought my wedding dress this weekend, was the first one I tried on so thats good! Need to sort out bridesmaid dresses next which I'm nervous about as want to keep everyone happy but all have different opinions so not sure how that will go!

    Wish me luck! Xxx

Hi Borobride! Glad that you feel a little less overwhelmed now. It does have moments like that, doesn't it! Hurrah for finding and buying your dress....was it one that you had previously seen, or was it just meant to be that you tried on "the one" first. (it was for me!).

I've had a little play today with the table manager thingy on this site.....we've not sent out our invites yet, so don't have any RSVPs, so in reality it is some way off doing a table plan.....but it was nice to have a little play. I thought with 50-60 day guests, the room might look a bit sparse, but I can now see that it will be anything but that, so that makes me feel a lot happier!

I've got my dress sorted for my BM, who is my daughter, but as my MoH is due to have a baby 4 weeks before the wedding, we haven't even thought about what she will wear. At some point we will have to give it some consideration, but it will very definitely be a last minute thing to accommodate her different shape/need to feed etc. It will be a case of let her have complete reign, I think....it's the only way!

I will be saying the same tomorrow!!! You'll be in the 6's......which to me sounds REALLY close!!

Happy 7months to go!!! I just know that the next month will fly by.....and then it will be Christmas....and then the countdowns will really be beginning for us!!!

    Exciting times!!!

We had dance lesson number two last night - more work on the Foxtrot, and then a good start on a Rumba....including twiddly bits and going round corners! Although we are learning a bit of everything at the moment, to see what sort of thing we like best, we mentioned working on a first dance, and we are going to take our first dance song in next week for the teacher to listen to and come up with some thoughts.

I will admit that I did wear a tighter skirt last night than I did last week, so I could imagine I was restricted by my wedding dress, to try and guage how I will manage steps on the day!!! Although what I was wearing last night didn't include a train, so perhaps not the best of guides!!!

These dance lessons are last year's Christmas present to me, but because of my knee surgery/physio, I couldn't make use of them until now. So, they were designed for just dancing for fun rather than specifically for a first dance, as at the time we weren't engaged, but obviously it is ideal to start thinking about it, and hopefully getting something together that won't look wooden and embarrassing on the day! Only 2 lessons in, but so far we are loving it, so hopefully it will be something we can carry on to some extent or other. It is nice to complement all my other gym based exercise with something different too.

Hurrah for being super giddy!! Nothing arriving for us....although my daughter did show us some of the props she has made for our psuedo photo booth corner at the reception. It should be a lot of fun if the sample she has shown us is anything to go by!!

? Woooo OH has been offered a new job and he accepted that means wedding and honeymoon is now fully sorted in the savings account and I don't have to stress about money - which I'm really bad for - I think it's because I paid off loads of debt and never want to go back there!

We will still both be saving every month but it can go towards the house pot or the fun pot - skiing!!!!

Yay, Scottish Sarah, that is excellent news and such a relief for you.

we have a ski pot too - probably bigger than all other fun pots put together, I will have to admit!! 10 weeks til we are off to the slopes....I cannot wait. Only 5 weeks til my daughter goes off to do a season. Not jealous at all!!! She comes home in mid April - just in time for the hen do and the final wedding push!!!

Good morning ladies of June 2015, I hope you all had a good weekend? It was my birthday weekend so a quiet (ok, hungover) one for us....and no wedding planning at all cropped up, reminding us that there is more to life than *just* planning our big day!!

H2B has now entered his busiest couple of months, workwise, so I suspect nothing much will happen until mid January now, when it will all kick off with a vengence! I really should make the most of the fact this could be the calm before the storm, I guess!!

    Have a good week y'all!!

    Happy Birthday Kimiu!

ooh, its so exciting to see 6's popping up on lots of tickers! Everyone keeps telling me it will fly by... I hope not as I have sooooo much to do!

Last week was really productive, we had our tasting and picked our menu (yey!!), i've ordered my hair vine which I have been toying with for months, and my dress has come in, so I am going to visit her this week in the shop.

    The menu we picked is

Starter - Ham hock terrine with pineapple chutney

Main - Lemon and rosemary roasted poussin with mediterranean vegetables and roast new potatoes

Pudding - chocolate and orange marquise with orange sorbet and a jaffa cake crumb

it was all very yummy, the only thing we are considering changing is the main came with salsa verde but we both felt really garlicy afterwards so we might change that for a tomato-y sauce. We have chicken nuggets and chips for the kiddies (and 1 very fussy aunty) and some delicious veggie options that I am going to let my veggie friends decide on what they would like.

This week I am making a start on writing my invites and envelopes out, and I have thursday and friday off work without OH, so might get cracking with with some other bits of DIY and if the weather is up to it, I will finish my spray painting ?

Thanks Brooksy!! ? Have a bit of cake!

I can't tell you how excited I am that the ticker shows a 6 - even though it is still really almost 7 months away, that 6 means that it will be here before we know it.. Somehow, to say you are doing something "in 6 months" means that it isn't far away at all. So excited (can you tell, or do I hide it well?)

Your menu sounds lovely - our tasting is not until 6th January, Which will then only be 5, yes, 5 months away from the actual wedding. (See, told you I am hiding it well. I am, aren't i?!)

Hurrah for dress and hair thingy shopping - it is all coming together!!!

Belated birthday wishes to Kimiu, hope you had a lovely weekend and got spoilt!

Love the sound of your menu Brooksy, especially pudding! Good luck with your invites.

Myself and OH went suit shopping today and chose the wedding suits for him and the groomsmen, so one more thing ticked off the list! He chose a dark grey morning suit with tails, and looked very handsome!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Happy Birthday date twin!! I can't believe the tickers are starting with 6 months now, starting to feel a bit panicky and considering alternatives to all the DIY I'd planned - must pull my finger out and do some crafting rather than sitting reading post and searching pinterest when the kids are asleep ?

Thank you for the birthday wishes!

I'm glad we haven't gone down the DIY route for much of this wedding, as I too know that I would be panicking now about whether it was all going to be finished or not. I know we took the *easy* option for most of our stuff, but we really don't need the stress, and I know that I don't have the time to do a proper job, which would just really annoy me. I love seeing everyone else's projects, though - some of them are nothing short of amazing!

Dance lesson number 3 tonight - very much looking forward to that, and although it is not wedding related as such, I cannot help but think of us starting to work towards our first dance!

In terms of tickers and the fact they show the 6 in there.....I also get silly excited with an app on my phone...next Weds it will show 199 days to go....when I started it was way over 400. Also, now the number of hours til we get wed is under 5000. It makes a big difference seeing that number start with a 4. 4 is such a small number, right? Also, it is less than 30 weeks, That means the number of weeks starts with a 2.....which is an even smaller number!

(yes, I will seek counselling for this in due course)

Welcome back, RusticBride, although we know you've never been far away!!

I won't be taking anyone with me on my boudoir shoot - I have worked briefly with the woman who does them before, so I know we "click" and I feel comfortable with her, so that's half the battle (the other half is stopping eating birthday cake.....!!)

I have got some ideas from pinterest - put in "bridal boudoir photography" and there are some lovely shots, so I have a good idea of what I would like to aim for, and what I think H2B will like. I did a one off picture for valentines for him which he loved, so I know it will be worth doing - very excited about it. I am hoping to get about 20 photos in an album, so quite a biggie.....but this is the one and only time I can justify such an extravagence, so what the heck. I had 20 married years of getting undressed in the bathroom and having the lights out when doing the deed, so the fact that I am now so comfortable with who I am, and the fact that this is all down to H2B, is worth every penny for me, and I intend to make the most of it!

Numbers are what I do for a living, so I guess that explains some of it, although I loved Johhny Ball's "Think of a number" when I was a child, so they have always had some sort of fascination for me. I do silly things like countdowns to holidays, or working out how many weeks til a big event and then going back in the calender the same number of weeks to see what we were doing then.....eg it is 29 weeks til our wedding. 29 weeks ago I fell off my bike and hurt myself quite badly. Fully recovered now, but the fall only seems like a few weeks ago. It's all a game haha!!!

Your invites look lovely - you are doing so well with your DIY. The list WILL get shorter, Honest it will!!

I've started on the planning again - OH went to try on suits with the plan that we could buy in the boxing day sales but most seem to be wool at the moment which wouldn't be very good in June - he tends to get pretty hot anyway so back to square one. We are down in Edinburgh again this weekend (rugby match number 2) so going to go to Austin Reeds to see what styles they have that he can buy and best man/ushers can hire. We are also going to some fabric shops whilst there for bunting after my mum's mis-interpretations!

I also bought my jewellery today - I haven't got a dress hmmm wrong order but it was a bargin £100 set for £14 thanks to Martins money tips and thought pearls would go well with lace style.
