in answer to some of the questions, yes i have a date for the wedding, its to be on the 8th May 2010 ? hee hee! and i'm getting married my fiancee's area, in hertfordhire.

(Geordie Barbie i'm similar timing to you, Alec proposed september 6th and wedding May next year

and the engaement party is in a couple of weeks

ok, so my plans so far, with the engagement party is gonna be coloured Blue (alec chose it!) and just a cheese and wine event

i sent request forms with my invites and asked people to choose five songs they wanted to hear in the evening so everyone can get involved in the evening - the response has been hillarious and people have loved the idea of contributing something so individual - though alec and i have been in stiches wondering how everyone else will feel about music choices i think its going to work well.

my sister has sorted an engagement cake for us, its fruit and she has painted the icing for us with vines and wildflowers creeping over it, its gorgeous and we have made some dragonflies and butterflies and hearts out of icing and have painted those too, to go on cupcakes, so hoping that will work out well

ive painted loads of glass jars and bottles that i will put candles in and i since we aren't having a band play i'm going to fill the stage will candles -

so thats my plans for engagement party. wedding is great too - we have lots sorted, i'm got my bridesmaids, finally sorted the colours for their dresses (I love Greens, i wanted dark green but having 7 girls in dark green would look like a forest so i've got three shades, going into very fresh and vibrant, ) and i've chosen a style and i'm having them all made. i was thinking of have peacocks as a theme to pull in my colours without drowning the place in green-ness

Alec has got his and the groomsmen outfits sorted and i've even got my dress!! (but alec doesn't know!)

we've got our venue, and the catering sorted and chosen a cake. and we've got the bar sorted. and i think i've now decided which flowers i want

so its all good

i'll still need help though!

OMG am I reading this right - you got engaged in September this year and you have all that organised already? I got engaged 2 days after you and have nowhere near that much sorted out!

Well done and when you runs out of things to organise for your own wedding feel free to come and sort mine out lol
