Just completed our booking, only 10 weeks to go!

Hedgemog , 11 January, 2016 at 14:44 Posted on Planning 0 21

10 weeks seems like a long time but I'm sure it will go really quickly. I want to tell everyone I see about it all but I can't so I will pop all of my thoughts on here with you guys. Everyone is so lovely and helpful despite having their own stuff to sort out. Completely goes against how some of our nearest and dearest can be at what is supposed to be a happy time.

Im gushing a bit now so I'll shush.

Eeeeeeekk I'm excited!

Smiths Hotel at Gretna Green. A nice package that leaves little to organise, I hope anyway.

I can remember ten weeks so clearly and now I'm married. It flies by! It will be here before you know it.

Oh putting pics in is simple once you work it out!

Click the film reel thing above where you're writing (next to the tree) and upload your photo. You can change the size on there - I usually go for 250 instead of 550 Smiley smile

    Thanks Stephisaur.

So far we're thinking this suit, or as close as

I love this dress but in white

Only issue with the dress is that it has a corset back and I think it's fair to say I won't be able to fasten it on my own.

Not decided yet between a lace bolero or something like this, will depend on final dress choice.

Not picked rings or shoes yet.

    Loving what you have chosen!

Have you considered something like this for the dress?

    http://www.asos.com/Chi-Chi-London/Chi-Chi-London-Bridal-Tulle-Maxi-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=6005258&cid=21606&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Cream&totalstyles=32&gridsize=3

Otherwise, have you got any Bridal Outlet stores near you? We have one opening soon called Wed2B and someone like that might be able to get you a 'proper' wedding dress that might have a zip up back? Smiley smile

I did look at a few Chi Chi London dresses but they aren't big enough in the bust, as is often the case with off the shelf clothes. Every other off the shelf dress I've seen that I can get with the correct bust size will be massive everywhere else.

I looked at outlet shops and the closest is about an hour and a half away but their website says dresses start at £150 and I have £100 to cover dress, shoes and accessories.

I'm tempted to order the corset back one and see if a seamstress can change it to a different fastening.

    Oh that's annoying Smiley sad

I would ask a seamstress first - I imagine it will cost a bit to change from corset to zip

The seller has assured me it will be here in plenty of time and as it's fairly simple I hope there will be no issues when it arrives.
