Just finished making Guest Book - *Flash*

miss.understood, 27 October, 2010 at 22:17 Posted on Planning 0 18

I'm making a lot of my own things for our wedding.....and this is the first finished item. The guest book. The image on the book is the running themed image for all stationary (which i'm also making)

Opinions please Smiley smile

The Guest Book - Front Cover:

Inside:

also....the book itself only cost me £4.50 and has around 50 pages in it Smiley smile

    I love it.

So good to see something thats not the usual pink or flowery. Not one for the girly stuff myself so I really like your design.

Thanks. I chose the peacock feather idea as there are peacock feathers in the hair extensions i'll be wearing on the day Smiley smile

They look really good - I like the design you've done.

(very impressed that you've attempted this - anything I make looks like a 5 year old got involved!)

They are lovely, although i am biased as we are using peacock feathers. Did you print that image yourself and stick it on the front, its brilliant quality?

Vikster79 - yeah i printed them myself. I found the image after trawling through internet pages and eventually finding that one, then had to slightly alter it and crop it down to remove some of the more muddy colours around the outside edge.

It takes a lot of ink to print them out, but i think it's worth it. Good job i ha a new colour cartridge as the other one was nearly dead lol. Just got the invite images to print out (same image) although the printer had a 4 hour hissy fit last night with me.....4 hours for it to decide whether it was a good idea to switch off or not lol. xx

I look forward to showing you all the finished stationary. I've got all the wording etc for the stationary worked out, just need the printer to co-operate! xx

Brilliant I can't wait to take a peek!!

I have a horrible feeling i'm so interested as I like the personal element of your wedding and how it's clearly all about you and your H2b - something i've perhaps not quiet achieved yet!

I bought it from Amazon. I just searched A5 black sketch book. As an artist myself...my top tip for paper: for decent quality paper, try searching for sketch books. The paper used in them is thicker and of a higher quality than standard paper. Also what i did because there were loads of pages in this book.... i used double sided tape (after punching out the heart shape and putting the peacock blue on the back of the punched bit - just do every other sheet with the punch) and taped 1 punched sheet and 1 normal sheet together. It means the paper is thicker and more durable (ideal for drunken fingers to flip to a page) and makes the quality feel even better Smiley smile

    Try these :

Smiley winking hope they help Smiley smile
