I will get the giggles uncontrolably or i will cry like a baby the whole way through - both will be equally as embarassing!

Another thing would be if my dress got ruined in any way or if my hair got messed up

She's just not wanted. H2B and i don't matter to her, aslong as BIL2B and his girlfriend are ok, then that is all she cares about. She has shown no interest in the wedding, which is fine by me, but it has really upset H2B (obviously)

H2B has said he didn't want her there, as he would prefer to invite people we actually like ?

don't want her turning up and upsetting H2B, which will then upset me. If she does, i can see my mum flipping at her, which wouldn't be pretty, as she is a scary lady, lol. And if my mum doesn't then i certainly will. wouldn't want that to happen on our wedding day.

Well it could be one of the following:

My car breaking down and ending up having to thumb a lift!

Iain's car breaking down - see above.

My Mum and Dad being late (this could well happen knowing them!)

My ex turning up. (very unlikely!)

One or both of my cats having some kind of accident in the morning.

Any one of the guests being taken ill.

The venue being destroyed by fire the day before.

    The food not turning up.

    The cake being dropped.

    The flowers being dead.

The photographer deciding he only wants to take cheesy shots.

Me treading on my dress as I walk down the aisle and it falling off revealing my knickers.

My Dad tripping over and knocking me flying.

    Iain forgetting his speech.

    The rings being forgotten.

Oh there's a million things which go through my head on a regular basis!

I can't pick just one, but the first is the most likely!

Mine has a very real chance of happening at the moment!!

I'm planning on walking down the "aisle" with our 2yr old daughter who's a flower girl. I have this fear that she's going to have a huge tantrum, and the 2 other bm's will have walked down and I'll be at the back trying to get a screaming toddler to shut up and walk!!

She's going through a phase of screaming tantrums lately, and she refused to try her dress on for the dressmaker on Wednesday.............

Classic real story is a wedding I photographed near to Waterloo station. The bride and her group were coming from the Lakeside area in 3 stretch limos.......They arrived at the church and it transpired that each thought that the brides mum was in one of the other limos....she wasn't.....she was still in Lakeside!

Wedding was about an hour late in starting.

That happened to one of my Mum's friends. She had a classic car and it broke down on a major A road near to the church - the chauffer was less than helpful and the Bride and her Father had to thumb a lift. The only car that stopped was a MINI!! (this was the 80s too so imagine the size of the dress). Bride was rightly upset and tears before the ceremony etc etc.

Anyway.... while the service was going on someone arranged from who knows where that when they came out there was a horse drawn carriage waiting to take them to the reception... ah bless.

TBH as long as I've put the right date on the invites and both OH and registrar turn up we are all set. Obviously wouldn't want anyone to be ill, or major dramas to happen but as long as we are all there and everyone is healthy we'll get around everything else.

(Disclaimer: I am not saying that i'm excited about the prospect of spilling on mydress/falling flat on my face/bursting into tears/forgetting my own name but it won't stop me marrying h2b which is the main thing).

    My main things are:

Not fitting into my dress (nearly there)

    Make-up and Hair mess

Me falling over (this could certainly happen)

Losing the wedding rings (have already dreamt about this!)

Spilling my gravy down my dress

My main problem was my dad making a scene with me and my mum about walking down the aisle, questioning our choices. Then causing problems with my step dad. Then h2b losing his rag and the police turning up (we had warned the venue of possible problems).

But after what has happened 2 weeks ago, he is no longer invited and not wanted. So worry is now him still turning up and the also the police!

I keep having quite morbid thoughts about close family dying before the wedding and how will we cope with all the upset, would we go ahead with it, how we could remember them in speeches etc. I'd like to add that everyone is in fine health and there is no reason for this at all ?

OH's divorce not coming through in time. It's keeping my awake at night.

    Other than that WEES

Spillage on dress, wind ruining hair, children being difficult, hotel damaged by fire/water.....mmm

That's all I can think of.

WEES plus FIL2B not being able to attend due to chemo or SIL2B (alcoholic/mentally ill) demanding to be taken home right away when an important event is happening- this happens a lot.

Also had a dream last night where found out that venue had decided to do more than one wedding on the day (the whole reason we picked it was because they only do one a day) and our wedding planner was being a real *** about it and I was screaming "This is FRAUD!!!"

Mine is; an ex coming in and ruining it all for me, just their presence would upset me greatly, and also someone announcing that OH and I ARE related......... tho thats very unlikely.

I really really really dont want the minister to say 'Should anyone know why these two persons here present should not be married......etc??' That sentence makes me feel sick!

Me too. God knows why, everyone is fine.

Getting stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the church is also a big worry of mine at the moment. H2b hates hates hates people being late, as do I, but the journey is 25-35 minutes on a good to average run, mostly on a national limit dual carriageway. However on Saturday mornings there is a bootsale which means there is a bit of traffic. I'm allowing an hour for the journey and just hope no-one decides to have a crash that morning..

    Where do I start?!!

Apart from him not turning up.................

    Nobody turning up!

Getting so nervous that my tummy feels funny and I worry about farting as I walk down the aisle or in front of the vicar!

Getting so nervous that I open my mouth to say my vows but nothing comes out!

    Getting nervous giggles

Dress not fitting on the day

    Spilling something down my dress

Someone standing on the train and ripping the dress

    People having a fight!

Claireac, my best friend has this real little "madam" (her neice) who was her flowergirl. So I really do understand what you mean but a "concern". What we did in the end was to put her first. She walked down and dropped her little flower petals (very cute) when she all of a sudden decides to stop in mid procession, all because she wants her dad to take a photo of her. Her mom and dad are trying to politely shoo her away but of course this isn't happening. What "madam wants, madam gets". Because we had put her first, I came up directly behind her. I just sidled up next to her, grabbed her hand and walked her the remainder of the way, holding her hand. She didn't kick or scream, throw a tantrum or anything because the movement was really swift and maintaining flow. I suppose cause I caught her by suprise and well, her being a little scared of me might have helped :-)

I think you can have that line removed from the vows. Technically speaking, it's already been covered by the fact that your notice of marriage had to be displayed at the registration for at least 17 days. If anyone felt that you shouldn't marry, they could have contested it before the wedding. Just tell the person conducting the service to omit that line.

I hadn't considered a lot of things you've all thought of. Wow, Ali, you've lot of quite a few!

    My worst nightmares would be

my step sister getting drunk & being sick on my dress or shoes

Spilling food (or drink) down my dress

The lanterns we're considering setting fire to someone

The groom being late (he's always late for everything!)

Falling up (or down) the steps to where my ceremony is taking place in front of everyone

Ideas started to flow once I got started!

I had my first wedding nightmare last night.... my dress (which i go try on for first time on weds!!!) is short mini skirt and bright green and my h2b wedding ring turns out to be a purple beaded bracelet!!! Think these are very unlikely, however i think the most likely thing to happen would be me spilling gravy down my dress or even worse, someone else spilling red wine on my dress!!!! I would be mortified!!!! I am the clumsiest person i know so this is the only thing concerning me including tripping as i walk down the aisle, dropping my h2b ring as i go to put onto his finger, putting my finger through my stockings, touching up my make-up and stabbing myself in the eye with my mascara - oh the list goes on.....
