Just had a horrid encounter

Knowsanna in excelsis, 3 December, 2008 at 12:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

I was parked (legally) and about to pull out when a van came and parked right next to me (illegally), blocking me in. When I politely asked the driver to move, she refused on the grounds that she was Belgian and I wasn't, so she had more right to be there than me(!) She then got extremely aggressive and started swearing and shouting at me.

It was really horrible, and I felt awfully impotent- I couldn't even just walk away as I had two children in the car. I just had to wait for her to go- I didn't want to escalate things as she was clearly just a horrible nut- while she shouted abuse at me from her van. How distressing ?

Ugh, I hate scenes like that.

Well done for resisting the urge to just reverse into her though.

Xenophobic arsewipe. I would be tempted to follow her home and at somepoint egg her house

(or, in reality, fantasise about the above scenario).

Bloody hell, I hope someone spits in her coffee. The sooner you come home the better, lovely ?

That sounds awful, I hope you've relaxed now. Were the children frightened?

Next time - get your mobile phone out - record the incident and take down the number plate and report the stupid cow.

    Poor you ?

Thanks everyone- it made me feel quite shaken. I would have loved to have rammed her (in some alternate universe where I do things like that ?) but I think I'd have been the loser as she was in a work van and I was in my own car ?

The children were fine- they're very young (2 and 11 months) so it passed them by, pretty much.

If you had some keys you could have...

Would the police have done anything if you took her numberplate down and reported the abuse?

Did you get the van's number?

A tip off about a dangerously insane Walloon separatist with a van full of nasty material (which is packed into the chassis according to what the tipster heard) should make her day interesting.

If it wasn't such a terrible waste of police time, it would be incredibly tempting to do an anon tip-off to the belgium equivalent of crimestoppers that you saw a suspicious character loading what looked like chemical bombs into the van before driving off, muttering bak, derk-derk-Allah. Derka derka, Mohammed Jihad. Haka sherpa-sherpa. Abaka-la. </fcukyeah>
