Just opened a new email account - in my married name!

lumc86, 23 August, 2012 at 10:17 Posted on Planning 0 6

Ok, so I may be 6 months previous, but it occurred to me ther other day that my current email address is *********.*******@****.**.**, but my surname is changing!!! So, have set up a new email address with my married surname!! Its so exciting, and I'm already loving looking at my new name written down!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Am I the only sad person to have done this (and be excited about it?!)

xx

I did it too (about 4 months ago) but the name is apparently really common now! Went for Mrs.firstnamesurname but I'll probably not use it tbh!

I have never thought of this! I've had my email address since I was 15. I'm looking forward to having my new surname but strangely I feel quite sad about losing my e-mail address! xx

I got mine when I was 14 and was kind of a nickname for me at the time, but it's was super long and so many forms (online and paper) have a limited space for an email address, so I had to change it Smiley sad

Also, I am not looking forward to changing my surname. My whole name is only 7 letters long now and my new surname is 6 by itself. Also all my cousins on my dad's side are girls, 3 of which have already been married and changed their name, one of my brothers has 3 daughters and no plans for any more and my other brother is gay and really does not want kids, so I'm kind of the last one left to keep the family name going. Obviously any kids would probably have OH's name anyway so I would be the odd one out, but still. I want my name! Smiley sad

A lot of people don't change it.

I'm keeping my surname as a stage name but day to day and for admin I'm changing. Best of both worlds. Smiley smile
