keeping fit?

*libby*, 18 March, 2012 at 09:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

H has recently joined me up to his gym membership, ive started swimming and going to a pilates class and wondered what others do to keep fit? I also walk a lot and have signed up for race for life so would like to start running too!

I havent ventured into the actual gym in a looong time so those of you that do what do you prefer to use?

?

I run around after my 2 kids to keep me fit. Only time i've been in a gym was to use their loo.

My friend keeps asking me to join her gym, i'm tempted purely as it has a sauna.

    Sorry, not helpful, am I?

I'm just starting to get back into exercise, so I'm not doing loads, but I can feel myself getting fitter already. This week I did:

Monday: Gym - 10 minutes on the bike, 20 minutes on the crosstrainer, sit ups

    Wednesday: As above

Friday: An hour of ballroom dancing - more energetic than it sounds as doing the jive for half an hour non stop is knackering!

    Sunday: Davina exercise DVD.

I'll be back at the gym tomorrow although after the Easter holidays we have a lady coming into work to do Zumba on a Monday so I will be trying that. I would also like to go swimming but would like to lose a bit more weight before I subject anyone else to my thighs.

Yeah they have body pump sounds a bit scary but will give it a go. Zumba is after my pilates class so im hoping to stay and try that too this week! i agree with prefering the classes to the gym as i would leave the gym when im knackered but push myself through the whole class!

ER i have two children too (and childmind another two full time) I walk the school runs and nursery drops and never sit down but i clearly make up for it by eating too much! ?

Usually I like body pump, spin fit, and body balance classes. However, I;ve had a hectic schedule lately and can't make structured class times so have been doing the NHS Couch to 5k running plan, I ran for 25mins non stop on Saturday morning!
