Keeping Kiddies Busy on wedding day??

Dream Team Dean, 26 June, 2013 at 10:22 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi,

I was just wondering on ideas to keep the kiddies busy on the wedding day. I have 12 kids ages from 1-13 and i have outdoor games (i.e Chess, Large Playing Cards, Connect 4 etc) and i am also ordering the activity kits with Crayons and puzzles etc.

I thought maybe bring the Nintendo Wii as well?? What are other people doing?

Thanks xx

In my opinion, the outdoor games and activity packs would suffice - we just had activity packs but the venue had a games rooms with machines n stuff so the kids naturally headed in there when they were bored. The Wii is a good idea but may take some management - as in, you might need someone to 'mind' the kids in case remotes get flung accidentally etc...

Thankfully where our venue is there's a little play area right next to the venue, so if weather is nice that will be our resort, but we have also thought about bouncy castles and entertainers but as our number of kids during the day is a bare minimum we are hoping that the play area will suffice.

I agree that the wii sounds a good idea but will need to be more managed then a giant board game

I think the packs and games sound great. The only thing with the Wii is that they will all want it and may end up squabbling. I haven't full thought about it yet but am going to do drawing/sticking packs, bubbles, balloons andd dressing up clothes. Maybe a treasure hunt of some description? Though it would take some organising.

We had activity packs which included disposable cameras and lists of pictures to take, colournig etc and of course they had a whale of a time on the dance floor!

    Thanks all.

I think i will leave as it is, i have bubbles on the table also. I dont think i will bring the WII because as you said i dont want them fighting haha

So they have Giant Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Playing Cards, Activity packs incl crayons, puzzles etc and then when the evening starts i am sure they will be boogying down as they all take after there big sis/aunt Smiley smile

Oh forgot to mention i have a video pod with dress up so i am sure that will be entertaining for them.

    Thanks again x

if we set up the wii it is inevitable that H2B and middle child would not be seen for the rest of the day. H2B HATES that a 6 year old beats him every time.

We're having a bouncy castle and some colouring bits for the kiddies although I suspect they will be more interested in the candy buffet and playing hide and seek in the woods and old stables. We have the option to set up an alternative room for them but I think I'm going to set it up for the people who aren't happy about the number of kids running around instead.

I've made a personalised bag for the 10 children attending our wedding, with pens, colouring books, stickers, bubbles, little toys. All slightly different depending on age and gender. I think that should keep them entertained til the dancing starts.

Video pod sounds good. What is that? Think the little girls would love that

Yes i think i will add a bit more to their activity packs. The Video Pod is something similar to the Big Brother Diary Room, we have provided questions/songs for the guests to sing along and answer. Also provided props i.e Hats, Big Glasses etc as a novelty and so they can have fun. We will then be given the footage of all guests in the coming weeks and can send it to all friends and family in a link so everybody can have a giggle xxx
