Keepsake wedding favours

MrsB88, 22 January, 2014 at 00:23 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hey fellow brides! So we originally were going to have sugar coated almonds in a pouch, with a tag with our names & wedding date on. But now I'm thinking I would like to give a favour that the guests can keep forever as a memory of our wedding. Found some beautiful candels I can give to the ladies. But have no clue for the men! Do I even need to give the men anything?! lol

I was going to suggest these https://www.theweddingofmydreams.co.uk/products/wedding-favour-seed-packets but I doubt the Men would be into them ?.

Im not huge on the sex specific gifts for things like this...

    are the candles super girly?

can you not give the same to the guys?

if you really must do the sex based thing then what about lighters for the men?

My brother had personalised perfume bottles for the girls at his wedding and whiskey bottles for the guys.

They had the name of the ocuple on and the date.

Hmmm, going by my OH - yes he'd find a candle too girly, he'd just give it straight to me. As for a lighter, not many people (in my circle) smoke these days so if he got a lighter he'd also give it straight to me to light my candles with!

you dont need to smoke but you always need a lighter, it one of those handy things

I dont smoke but have had to buy 100s of lighters (I keep losing them) for everything from lighting candles to BBQ and camping stoves

I think above is the reason why I dont like sex specific gifts as I know I and most of my friends despite being women would prefer whiskey to perfume (love whiskey but all ready have tonnes of perfume which I picked as most can give me a headache)

I like the idea of having candles and lighters/matches. It's a lovely couples idea (you light my fire etc etc) but might make the single guests a bit lonely :p

We're having personalised shot glasses at our wedding. They're really cute with two hearts (one "dressed as the groom and one as the bride) with our names and the date of our wedding. My fiancé is Polish, so we will be serving vodka at the wedding and shot glasses just seemed right to go as keepsakes ?

I want to give everyone a couple of tulip bulbs to plant (presented nicely of course). I have this romantic idea that everyone will plant their tulip bulbs and think of us in the years to come. In reality, I imagine most of them will get left behind and I'll have a lot of tulips in my own garden!
