I am toatally baffled by what to take to wear on safari, can anyone help?

Also say we are taking 500 spends (it's totally all inclusive) how much of this should be Kenyan and American dollars?

Light, covered up style clothes to stop burning, H just said. He's just got back.

Just light clothes, avoid dark colours. My shampoo leaked in my bag so I had to wear my leggings one day. I kept being bitten by these huge flying things and the driver said it was because of the dark clothes. My mum got a bit carried away and went the whole hog with the safari outfit but nobody else did and she looed a bit of a tit ?

Currency wise, I can't remember but I don't think they were fussy. We went to visit a Massai tribe and the chiefs son asked if I would be his wife and offered my mum payment in the form of two cows! I seem to remember needing American dollars for your Visa at the airport? I could be completely making that up though.

Did you get all your flight stuff sorted as the travel company messed you around?

I took Combat type trousers for the Safari's and long sleeved tops that were thin/loose. But be warned you get REALLY dusty.

    Money wise:

You need Dollars to get into the Country (if you do not already have a visa.) The lodges we stayed at were full board so had to pay for drinks.

Depends on your flight times/itinerary for what you will need. We arrived in Nairobi and you could pay to go to an Elephant Sanctuary, you can do extra safaris but again you have to pay for them. Like HatTrick said you can pay to go to the villages. We did a lot of travelling and stopped off at places to get drinks and bought souvenirs.

    Have a great time.
