    That's what I was thinking...

She could just be nervous, I suppose.

I was just thinking this and was about to post.

I am wondering if she has a brace in because that is how my son was speaking when he first had his.

Argh just said it's because of her bi polar, think she's said that before that it can cause slurred speech. Glad Phil asked her though!

Oh good - phil has just told her her speech is slurred - apparently its due to her meds. To me it sounds like shes drunk! Not just her speech but the way shes acting.

Bi Polar meds can certainly make your speech slurred.

It is quite uncomfortable to watch isn't it? I think Phillip is quite concerned about her. Can that sort of medication make you speak like that? I really have no idea but it does seem odd.

I didn't know that. It would certainly explain a lot. In which case, I apologise for the being p*ssed comment.

My Mum is on varous different medications and often slurs her words. Sometimes it is due to the extreme dry mouth she gets, her speach is affected. other times it is just for no reason.

I was just thinking though she was being interviewed last week and wasn't slurring like that; but then I guess that wasn't live. I really don't think that interview will have done her any favours though I am sure next weeks magazines will be full of it. Poor girl.

But surely if you knew your meds make you slur in the morning you would do your come back interview later on?

How could her boyfriend let her go on there like that? She came across really badly.

She s stated pubicly that she takes venlafaxine for her bi polar disorder. however, speech slurring does not seem to be either a usual or rare side effect from that drug. its an anti-depressant.

Venlafaxine can also cause dry mouth and dizziness, which leads to speech slurring.

If she's on other Bi Polar meds such as lithium (I have no knowledge of Kerry Katona's prescriptions) it's more than possible.

I didn't see it but I know I have days where I would appear drunk (although I'm not bi-polar) It's odd as I just feel a tired but others do notice it more.

It's part of the reason I rarely drive these days.

Never saw KK on TV, but know of the problems certain meds can cause (Anti Convulsive, Anti Psych, opiods)

My Liver is very sensitive , so I can't take certain meds due to cognitive problems it may have & has had.

For anyone that didn't see the interview, it was more than just slurring her words. She was slopping about and a little aggressive at Fern (when talking about her addictions in the past) accusing her of saying she was addicted to alcohol. Fern wasn't saying that at all. She did state that she had taken her meds at 11pm last night and said what they were but I couldn't quite understand her words. She also said she didn't think she was slurring at all.

She really didn't look good at all.

It's a dire copy but it's already on Mr Paparizzi - http://www.mrpaparazzi.com/post/4478/OH-MY-GOD-Did-You-Just-Watch-Kerry-Katona-On-This-Morning.aspx (complete with a numpty making laughing and sniffing noises whilst recording it ?)

I just really feel for the girl. She makes it really clear it's from medication she took last night. ☹️

I was on a high dose of Venlafaxine for five years and never had this sort of problem. I don't know what other meds she's on though.

Not making a judgement either way - how could I based on what little I know? - but having just watched the clip someone posted it did look to me like Fern was suggesting she (Kerry) might be addicted to alcohol and I think I would also have been defensive in Kerry's position.

Also, if it is meds she may well not realise she's slurring.

Ok, I've just watched the clip and I don't think she was drunk. She wasn't falling all over the place, her reactions weren't slow as you would expect with someone drunk. It was simply her speech which was slurred, and if Fern had more or less accused me of being an alcoholic I'd be annoyed too.

She has a horrid disorder, has had a horrific childhood and from what we're led to believe an unsupportive husband who takes advantage of how vulnerable she is.

It must get pretty frustrating having to defend yourself constantly because you once had a cocaine addiction.

I completely agree. I was almost expecting her to fall to the floor in a drunken stooper, going by the 4 seperate posts on here but it is just her speech.

Hmm, I didn't think anyone had insinuated she was falling over the place, but on the TV she certainly was moving around a lot at times during the interview. Her eyes didn't look right but I can understand that her medication could do that to her. I just wonder why she would go on a live TV interview to promote herself as a new start to her new life and know that would be how it would come off.

I think its a shame that she has come over so badly and maybe someone (her partner, agent, whover?) could have persuaded her it wouldn't be a great thing for her today?

    Just to add,

HH I totally agree that she had a crap start to life and it seems plenty of people are willing to take advantage of her vulnerability. Its sad for anyone but somehow worse to have it played out in public.
