Kids packs

Allgold78, 21 September, 2010 at 17:02 Posted on Planning 0 20

Ok, inspiration please ladies ?

I want to put packs together for the kids in my bridal party but they are a variety of ages so I could do with some ideas for what to put in them. I will have a 12 year old girl, 11 year old boy, 7 year old boy and 5 year old girl. All I have so far is a small pack of crayons each!!!!

I was going to put disposable cameras into the older kids ones.. with a list of what to take pictures of...

Sticker books, small reading books, puzzles...

I'll be interested to see what people come up with as I have 12 kids from 6 months to 13!!

Ahhh, I like the camera idea, and I like the WH Smith (or wherever) book idea. Good plan ladies. Beads sound like a good plan too. Maybe a puzzle of some kind each is good but what would you go for - jigsaws won't work cos you'd have to keep moving them for food etc.

I just bought a load of party favours to fill their bags with, such as mini jigsaw puzzles, magic slate drawing thingies, stickers, crayons/pencils, mini yoyo's, bubbles etc i also got a giant party cracker to put on the kids table which was filled with various 'disguises' and fun party things, i did get a pinata thingy (a pull the string one) but ended up not using it - if you want it you can have it!

It then dawned on me i had two 18 month olds there so did seperate ones for them with specific age related stuff in.

in the activity bags i did for my wedding...........crayons, little puzzle books, chocolates, little puzzles (the ones where two metal shapes are stuck together and have to be undone) stickers, bracelets for the girls, toy cars for the boys...

This is what im doing. I have the same age range as you

    older - have camera

younger have more 'toy' things and colours.

I got most of it from 'party things to go'

Each having white bag to decorate with colours and stickers. this particular bag is for 6yr old, but each have bubbles, puzzle, colours, note pad, stacks of stickers and fiddly bits

I think a trip to Asda is in order here to raid their party bag stuff. They have loads of little bits and pieces like that. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer of the pinata too, however I think this may be attacked by the adults before the poor little ones have chance, lol.

This camera idea is coming on in leaps and bounds isn't it, lol. Hope you ladies don't mind if I pinch it??

Love the 'decorate me' idea too - shame I've already bought the bags!!!!

I love scavenger hunts and quizzes! Why not make a list of things they have to find out as well as photos to take? things like 'find out what flowers are in the bride's bouquet' or 'what year did Auntie Mabel get married'? Should keep them amused for a while. I'm not having too many kids at my wedding - just 3, and they'll be 'helping' anyway.

I have 32 children from 15 months to 11 years invited!! The joys of being a Nanny lol! I will have a whole room for the kids to go to for during the speeches and the rest of the evening if they don't wanna be int he main room. Not sure what I'm gonna put in their kiddy packs yet, I wanted to make a sock monkey for each of them though with a tag as their placename.

We did bags tailored to the children's ages at our wedding on Saturday - they went down a storm and all the parents commented on them! Make the pound shop, 99p shop, The Works and Sainsburys your best friends!

    Older children all had:

    A pad of paper

    Colouring pencils and sharpener

    Bubbles

    Sweets (chewits, haribo and lollies)

    Activity book

    Reading book

Puzzle type games (think pinball maze type games etc)

    Younger children had:

    A colouring book

    Colouring pencils and sharpener

    Bubbles

    Sweets (chewits, haribo and lollies)

    Pad of paper

Story books (think fairies, princesses for girls and dinosaurs etc for boys!)

A recorder (they sell packs for parties in most supermarkets!)

Babies and toddlers had a pack of bubbles (parents to blow for them), a cuddly toy and some choc buttons! x

Puzzle type games (think pinball maze type games etc)

Can you all please tell me where you got your bags from. I can't find any that either don't cost the earth for a paper bag or they are too small to fit a colouring pack (i.e a party bag). I particularly like the papaer ones with string or rope handles.

    Thanks

SO what age related things did you put in? We have 4 children coming, two 5 year olds and two 18months. I have NO IDEA what to do for the 18 month old one. Any ideas of things they can have at that age (im clueless when it comes to children, hence us not having any till we're 30, a good 6 years to go yet!)

In our packs we had reading books, teddies, kites, skittles (the bowling type ones, not the sweets), bubbles, pencils, colouring books and disposable cameras.

For the younger children we had board type books which you can pick up fairly cheaply in The Works or similar, the bubbles and teddy mainly.

The kites / skittles etc were picked up really cheaply in Asda, they were only £1 each. Wilkinsons and most supermarkets do a party bag range which should give you some ideas.
