    I'd love to revive Life's Too Short Day, but I understand that there was a complication (? can't remember clearly)

    Anyway, I still have a private 'life's too short' day, not necessarily in December, but I certainly have one every year. And I always think of you, Mr and Mrs KJB ? I find it very inspirational.

    Thanks everyone for your messages, emails and texts.

    I've got today off work so had a nice lie-in to sleep most of the day away. I'm off to the crematorium in a moment for some quiet time and reflection.

    It's hard to believe that 4 years have passed.......but then in many ways it seems like yesterday. By lunchtime 4 years ago I'd had the call from the hospital at 6.20am, rushed down there, been told they'd just found him passed away, seen him, called his parents and my parents, seen the doctor, gone to a friends house at 8am as didn't know what else to do, phoned his best friends - one who was in Prague on business, gone home to wait for parents to arrive (and posted the news on Hitched I think as I didn't know what else to do) phoned his employers, gone back to the hospital with parents, gone to registry office to register his death, rung the funeral directors and rung more friends. And all this less than 16 hours after leaving him at the hospital at 8.30pm the night before, telling him I loved him and I'd see him tomorrow - with the list of things he wanted me to take in (hooded grey top, new PJs, and hankies)
