Fun article here:

Of course, having read it, I'm now desperate to browse the catalogue ?

Oh I love Lakeland. It's full of stuff I don't really need but they have lifestyle aspirational marketing down pat - which is pretty amazing when you consider how unglamorous most of it is!

Hazel, I was thinking of you when I opened the article and saw the banana guard - you do have the banana guard, don't you? [stalker]

I ordered PIL a slow cooker from lakeland for Christmas last year and they've been sending me the catalogues since, they really are dangerous. There is so many things that I really don't need but want anyway. Have drawn the line at a banana guard though ?

I now live practically next door to a Lakeland; I've been trying to stay away.*

*I do this by visiting the specialist baking shop around the corner ? Oh, the nozzles! ?

My kitchen is a shrine to Lakeland.

I'm being allowed to go to the mothership HQ store when we're holiday. It's fab, it even has a man creche.

I love Lakeland and MrK winces when the catalog arrives. I bought him the banana guard and he thinks its great - he hasn't found a banana that won't fit into it and he can chuck into the bottom of his ruchsack and it doesn't get squashed!

I too love the banana guard, despite others laughing at it. It keeps my bananas safe in my bag (and my bag safe from my banana).

I need a banana guard as the boychild loves them. I hate the way that they make the rest of your picnic taste of bananas so a banana guard would be perfect so I can keep them elsewhere.

Must not browse catalogue though.... They seem to have stopped sending me one.

We went to Lakeland yesterday at Bluewater, we had a big debate about whether we should get Kilner or Le Parfet jars for canning our tomatos, then managed to spend another £20 on extra bits that we didn't go in for. I love Lakeland.
