Landlords - Non-paying tenants

Peaches, 1 August, 2008 at 16:48 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I take it to recover this I would need to go to the small claims court?

Having not (fortunately) been in this position before, I've not had to claim, so while I'm pretty sure this is the route, can someone advise if I'm incorrect?

Thanks

Yes the online service works very well providing you have your side in order, have you got their deposit in a scheme for example ? Have you put in writing the fact that they owe you the money ?

As long as you've taken reasonable steps not just dashed off to court you should win and they should pay your costs too, is it a lot of money ?

Yep, everything is in order my end.

Not used the CC for tenant claims before (have in business, but those were the days when I had to go TO the court - not online!)

Thanks .. glad it's a useful system. Saves me time and money, and also the ability to do it from the States.
