laptop recs please

Jayned, 10 July, 2008 at 10:26 Posted on Planning 0 8

Need to buy myself a laptop...£400 to spend

I've looked at the Acer ones, but they all seem to have the white keyboard & because of my eye problems, I need a black one.

Have seen a couple of HP ones that I like....are HP any good for laptops

looking 2GB RAM & 120+GB HD

thanks

Jayne

Not sure if you've got any bigger Tesco near you but they've got some really good offers on. Not sure on particular models though. Might be worth having a look...?

My laptop is an acer but it's a couple of years old now.

I had a compaq one, packed up after 18 months. Not sure what the new one is, but its as good a spec as the new ones, and it was £279 refurbished one from pc world online.

I just got an Acer laptop yesterday from play.com - £299 on offer reduced by £200. It has a black keyboard but not sure of all the spec but maybe worth a look.

Tosiba are good - both me and H2B have them. We got them from comet or currys (can't quite remember now !) but they do web deals that are £100 cheaper than the shop. They are about £400/£450

Jo recently wanted a new latop so she could "edit pictures in the garden" over the summer months ?

Ended up getting one from the Toshiba Outlet at Cheshire Oaks (near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire).

Spec was somthing like 17" screen, 2g memory, 160gbyte hard disk. Total Cost £399.00

Works great, nice and quick, not very portable as 17" widescren but a great editing machine and internet machine.
