Last min reception advice prior to booking

I dont know your venue & didnt actually have any problems at mine, but here are a few things to check:

-Read & re-read the T&C's you'll be signing. When is the final payment due?

-Will there be a food tasting and is this included?

-Will the co-ordinator be there ALL night & if not, WHO will be incharge once they leave?

- Do they print menus or do you?

-Will they light candles & set things up on tables?

- Are there enough electrical plugs/speaker points for the DJ/band?

- Is there enough parking for guests?

- Whats if the cost of 'crew' meals & how much are they for the band/DJ/toast master/TOG etc

- Any access issues for elderly/disabled guests?

Ive Just booked Rudding park its beautiful if i do say so myself!

.... When have you booked for Cocktail ...?? it is a lovely venue, its my first choice at the moment ,just tying up finer details now

We've booked for next august. i hope you book too then we can be venue twins , i dont think there are any other brides to be on here getting married at rudding! However Ripley castle is stunning and Swinton also.

I have looked at Ripley and Swinton too , they were both slightly on the small side for my numbers which is a shame as i really loved both especially Swinton and i eliminated both for other reasons too

How did you decide Id be interested to see if you had similar ideas to me ...?

Did you look at any others in that area aswell ....???

We picked rudding for a number of reasons

-the level of service provided by staff is exceptional

-trip advisor reviews were fabulous

-the hotel rooms are really nice

-the food is gorgeous

-h2b loves golf and wants to play the day after we get wed (lucky me haha)

-the chapel is stunning

-the decor is very 'us' modern yet elegant

oh and probably lots more reasons that i cant remeber!!

however the downside for us is the drinks prices....but we came to the conclusion alot of wedding venues are like that!

we looked at ripley, its very nice and lovely grounds but the chapel at rdding park swung it for us we also looked at waterton park in wakefield, denton hall, hazlewood castle and harewood house.

Yeh we were really impressed with the service too and Im with you on the decor its just right not too old not too new , we wont be using the chapel as we are marrying in church but it is very cute

In terms of drinks have you looked at putting you own together , ive priced up my own ( what i will probs have if we book ) and its much cheaper that the actual packages i guess depending on what you want of course just to give you an idea this is what i looked at going for

1 glass if verve for drinks recep

1 pimms for girls drinks recep

1 beer for guys drinks recep

half bottle of wine per person ( just the house they are Italian wines which i love so sure ill like it )

then another glass of bubbly for toast

that came in at about 30 per head where as the cheapest is 36 on the packages i think ...???

Yeah i think we are having the same sort of drinks package as what you are having - great minds think alike xxx
