We had OHs all time face song - Oasis - Cigarettes and alcohol. Everyone was on the dancefloor jumping around. Was awesome.

Hmm ok, here's some of the standard tracks:

New York, New York - Frank Sinatra

    Never Forget - Take That

Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners

    Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond

    Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton

Don't Stop Me now - Queen

We Are The Champions - Queen

I guess if you're into RnB maybe go for something a little different: "Bump & Grind" - R Kelly !? Or maybe you could just pick a song that means the most to both of you!?

We had 'We are Young' by Fun. I wanted something that the hard core dancing crew of my friends could belt out and sing along and that's exactly what we did!

We had Don't Stop Believing - Sang by our band it was excellent, a big circle with dance off's in the middle so much fun! Had you told me I'd be dancing to that pre wedding, I would have said not on your nelly but it totally worked.

I second 'Dont Stop Me Now' by Queen - that will be our last song.

(A little background - this was always the last song played at the last rock music night of the year at our University club - where we met. The whole club would get into a circle, link arms and sing - I hope to replicate this.)

Me too! Either that or Never Forget by TT. I'm having a TT song as first dance so might be quite nice to end the night with them too

We made an exit well before the end of the evening to Kool and the Gang "Celebration" through an arch of guests arms.

    We were knackered!

I am liking the idea of Viva Las Vegas as thats where were are going on Honeymoon but not sure its too easy to dance to.

Will prob end up with something completely random and wont even notice its the last song as i'll be too tired/drunk!!

We asked for New York New York (predictable, but I was living in NYC when we met and we got engaged there so it's a special place to us). The DJ played that and then played our first dnce song again (Rule the World by Take That) which was a lovely surprise and end to the evening.

    Likewise- especially for a snog!

Ours was the Killers 'Mr Brightside.' We ended our wedding with all of the guests who were left standing by that point in a huge circle on the dancefoor with MrMini and I in the middle.

It was lovely and emotional and romantic.

    Then I was sick.

We had danced most of the night together, so it was lovely soaking it all up together, like a secret little moment for just us. I'm more soppy than most I guess! Smiley smile

We're both into rock music and think we'll have something by the white stripes (my favourite band) or was thinking of give it away by the red hot chili peppers (OH's favourite) but might not suit anyway so might get a queen / Beatles etc neutral song that everyone will hopefully enjoy Smiley smile

Ah right. Well, as I mentioned in my wedding report - I think our last dance of the evening actually contained one of the most meaningful and soppy moments of the wedding. So I suppose we all find soppy moments in different places Smiley smile

I think it has to be New York New York for us, it's been the last song at every wedding we've been to and will get everyone involved, however we do love Champagne Supernova so maybe we could have that too, just for friends and us.

We had this as our last song. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Our 'bubble' was shared with the people we love the most, all singing and dancing with us, smiling, lots of tears (some here will understand why), hugging and roaring the lyrics. To see your elderly relatives with their arms around your youngest mates, singing to each other...amazing. For me, it crystallised the whole day into one (not so short) song.

Depending on what vibe you want to fniish the evening off with here are my suggestions of what works really well:

Older / cheesier / really upbeat finish with everyone on the dance floor / a song everyone will know - New York, New York

Newer / still quite cheesy / really upbeat finish with everyone on the dance floor / a song most people will know - Rule The World

Newer / less cheesy / still briliiant for a sing a long / not everyone will know allthe words though - One Day Like This (Elbow)

Older / a slower, more romantic finish - Wonderful Tonight

    Hope this helps!

    James
