Last song of the night

Stacey_S, 9 April, 2013 at 11:14 Posted on Planning 0 29

Has anyone thought about what they would like the last song of the night to be? I want to end it with a bang with everyone on the dance floor singing their hearts out.

I'm not sure what we will do.

Gabrielle 'Dreams' is a song that means a lot to me and reminds me of 'us' a lot.

OH is happy for that to be our last song, as now it also means something to him, but I don't know if it is upbeat enough... or if I care?

I just can't think of anything better than dancing to this with OH at the end of our amazing day / night, even if it is just us two in the room by then!

Its just one of those songs that ALWAYS makes me smile and makes me think of 'us'.

Might do this song then one last really upbeat one.

Our band played a rendition of Journey's Don't stop believing, it went down a storm but their version was fab. Then they surprised us and sang our first dance song With or Without you by U2

When we stayed at the hotel we're getting married at we could hear the disco when we were at the bar, and the song they closed with was Kings of Leon Sex on Fire which I thought was brilliant! May steal that one!

As we are having a bit of a scottish theme, we will have The Proclaimers 500 Miles followed by The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond which is the one that goes "I'll tak the high rood, an' yoool tak the loo rood, and Illllllllll be in scooooortland afoooore yeee etc etc etc. At scottish weddings the bride and groom stand in the middle and all the guests make a circle holding hands like you do for new years eve, they sing as loudly and drunkenly as is possible, and then they do a kind of hokey cokey thing where everyone runs into the middle and the risk of getting a broken ankle is crazily high. in fact i am quite pleased that the next wedding i go to where they do this will be mine, just so I can stand in the middle and not be the one running into the centre like a crazed mentalist trying not to stand on the brides dress or break an ankle/wrist!!!

I either want 'Don't stop me now', 'Champagne Supernova' or 'rule the world'.

OH doesn't have much of an opinion, which is helpful, as ever!

It was either Kings of Len "Sex on Fire" (no chance of that seeing how pissed we both were) or The Killers "Mr Brightside"

We're both football fans so may have our teams' songs played at the end of the night - Delilah for me and You'll Never Walk Alone for OH.

We are going for The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection. It was always the last song of the night when we went to a local Indie club when we were kids!

    Hi,

If your thinking about an Oasis song then it's got to be.....Don't look back in anger!

If you want everyone singing their hearts out then that's the one!

    James
