Lavender

Hawhaw, 9 April, 2008 at 12:20 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 25

I didn't want to hijack the other thread but I need to confess that I am under 70yrs old and love lavender. Most of my bubble bath, lotions and potions are lavender scented, and have lavender perfume.

My only excuse is that I spend a lot of time with old ladies.

So come on, I know there are other lavender loving people here!

I use Lavender drops on my pillow when I can't sleep and have a Lavender room spray and body lotion which are only used if I'm stressed out.

I don't like the smell at all but I think its calming and relaxing.

I like lavender. I have planted some lavender bushes by the front and it smells lovely in the summer/autumn. I do buy lavender products too and think the days of laveneder being for old ladies is over and it's becoming a lot more fashionable again.

Old ladies don't smell of lavender they smell of soap and wee.

I love real lavender and fresh lavender, but can't stand over processed lavender smells, like cleaning products and things.

I like lavender as a scent, but not to wear. I do find it helps me sleep, so don't mind bubble bath / bedlinen / room scent type stuff.

I absolutely loathe the smell of Lavender. I have no idea why though. It just sticks in my throat and makes me feel quite ill when I smell it. Suffice to say, I don't have any lavender products.

Hmm it is a bit old-grannyish? I have some lavender oatcake cheese biscuits at the moment, and they do have an ever-so-slight soapiness to them? But I kind of like it in a vintagey kind of way

I like the smell of lavender in its natural form but not in lotions and potions i'm afraid.

I had lavender in my bouquet when I got married.

I remember that SJ used to be a lavender lover and liked flavoured things as well as just the scent.

I like only perfumes that smell recognisably of flowers, so that includes roses, violets, lily of the valley as well as lavender.

    I can't stand musky perfumes.

I don't associate those smells with old ladies, I associate them with flowers!

I love the smell of lavender, but not as a perfume or lotion.

And I love seeing lavender fields as the colours are amazing.

Another one for the love-it camp.

I can't wait to plant loads of lavender in our garden, I love batting it as you walk past and getting a waft. My mum has some soap that she bought from a lavender farm in France and that's lovely too. I also used it after the boy was born to help me sleep.

However, I do feel about 82 most of the time so perhaps that explains it.
